Fighting!
Broken Promise
Dara was clutching onto baby Inbok as if for dear life as we entered the venue. “It’s today, it is really happening!” She kept fretting.
She couldn’t believe that the day of 2NE1’s first concert came today. I had never seen her drive so anxiously either. Any efforts I made to console and reassure her went quite unnoticed. She was trapped in her own little bubble.
“Anneyonghaseyo!” We greeted as we bowed towards our staff members towards the dressing rooms.
“Don’t worry Inbok! Nanay will do great!” She told him as she bounced him up and down.
“Yah, Dara, you shouldn’t worry. You will be amazing.” I told her, putting my hand on her shoulder.
As if realizing that I was there, she turned around and looked up to me, eyes glimmering with gratefulness. “Kamsahmida.” She smiled. “Can you take him? I need to go into hair and makeup.” She asked, putting Inbok towards me.
“Of course!”
I collected Inbok from his mother who tiptoed up to his level to kiss his forehead. “Nanay will leave first! Mahal kita Inbok!” She waved at him.
“Dae! Nanay is best! Fwighting!” He waved back.
“I’ll see you soon my love!” She smiled at me before pecking my lips quickly.
“I’ll see you soon.” I smiled as she skipped away.
She was just adorable. The way she has so much effort and determination for everything is super admirable. I wish Inbok inherits that spirit of hers, that passionate fire. Even if she is afraid to make a mistake, she will still take on the challenge, and I love supporting and encouraging her.
I took Inbok to a waiting room and sat down, opening his bag of supplies. “Let’s see who we have here! We have Pup Pups!” I announced as I took a dog teddy out of the bag.
“Pup Pups!” He beamed reaching out for the teddy.
Dara and I agreed that Inbok would have Pinwoo for the home and Pup Pups for when he went outside in order to minimize any of them being lost. Inbok adored both of them too and would always want one or the other. “Do you remember the sound Pup Pups makes?!” I asked Inbok.
“Meong Meong!” He answered me before proceeding to get Pup Pups to howl.
I laughed at my imaginative toddler in disbelief. It almost seems like yesterday when I held him for the first time, I could not believe that he was going to be 2 in a month’s time. I ruffled the hair on his head as he concentrated on walking Pup Pups.
“Awww, Inbok! Anneyong!” Gushed a familiar voice.
I looked over to see my dongsaengs, Youngbae and Jiyong at the door. Jiyong almost ran over to greet his little nephew who was surprised to see them. “Anneyong App-App!” Youngbae smiled cheekily as he walked in.
“Oh? You guys
