Author’s POV

It was a perfect night for the graduation ball. Everyone had been preparing for that special night. It was going to be the last time to see everyone. It would also be the last time Jiyong and Dara could see each other.

It was the last time.

But Dara didn’t know it.

Ji Young: are you ready Dara? Jiyong is already outside waiting for you.

Sanghyun: noona, don’t forget to call us when you’re there and when that party is done. Make sure you don’t drink and make sure no one spikes your drinks. Always be careful when—

Dara: aigooo this kid, I’m going to my graduation ball not some bar Sanghyunie. It’s a formal gathering. Sanghyun: but you never know.

Ji young: aigooo. Just be sure to take care ok? And have fun.

Dara nodded and just before she could leave, they snapped a picture of her. Just then the doorbell rang again. This time, Sanghyun answered it and let Jiyong enter the house. As he did he saw Dara in a gown?

She looked breathtakingly wonderful.

Jiyong didn’t even notice that he wasn’t breathing anymore. He was just staring at Dara in awe. His heart had done backflips and he couldn’t even move to meet her.

Dara looked worried at Jiyong’s reaction. He had this blank expression on his face and he wasn’t breathing.

Dara: J-Jiyong-ah… (Rushes towards him) are… are you alright?

Jiyong: ah? D-de…

Dara: Do I look awful? (Looks at her dress and feels shy)

Jiyong: (chuckles) aniyo… You look… fantastic. (Smiles)

Ji young: aigooo… this kid. Now hurry up and strike a pose! I’ll take a picture of you together!

As Ji young snapped a photo, Jiyong brought out the corsage that he had for Dara. He placed it on her wrist and they both smiled at each other.

As they did, another snap of photo was taken.

Sanghyun: hyung… make sure nothing happens to my noona this time.

Jiyong: you have my word. Besides you know where to find me so you can always kill me if I do her wrong.

Sanghyun: Better make sure you’re ready to die when you make her cry.

Ji young: aigooo this child. (Hits Sanghyun’s head) You’re talking nonsense again. Tsk. Well you two better be off. And don’t forget to enjoy. Say hi to your brother for me Jiyong.

Jiyong: d-de ahjumma.

As they entered Jiyong’s car. He seems to be flustered that Dara’s mother and brother took the incident pretty easy.

Jiyong: They seem to be fine with me…

Dara: ah… (Flustered) well… They don’t know the details.

Jiyong: (sighs in relief) I see… I still feel responsible for it.

Dara: coffee-yah…

Jiyong: Ah! And before that… I have a favor to ask of you cakey…

Dara: what is it?

Jiyong bit his lower lip and he soon smiled at Dara. The smile made Dara blush instantly.

Jiyong: Can we pretend that we’re actually on a date tonight?

Dara was taken aback but soon, a smile crept out her lips.

Dara: sure Coffee-yah. If that makes you happy, then I’m happy too.

Jiyong smiled at her. In his thoughts this will be the night that they’ll remember. A night that they will never forget, because this night… will be the last night that they’ll see each other.

As they got to the grad ball, Jiyong assisted Dara and he made her wrap her arm around his arm. She looked quite stunning and since it was the first time for the others to see her all dolled up, they didn’t know who she was.

Jiyong noticed how everyone stared at her and he particularly hated how the guys checked her out. He pulled his arm away from Dara and wrapped it around her waist instead. With what he did, everyone looked more surprised than ever.

They were all thinking of the same thing, the Dragon has another prey.

But it was actually different inside Jiyong’s mind. Dara is someone special. Special enough to be able to make him feel this way. He wanted her to know it but maybe they’re just not meant to be. Moreover, he has to stop it.

But even for a night. Just one night, he wants to show her what she means to him.

Just one night.

Since they’ve entered inside, everyone has been asking Dara for a dance. Only when Jiyong isn’t looking. And since everyone’s been trying to get his attention, different guys were able to ask Dara. But Dara didn’t say yes to any of them. She didn’t want to upset Jiyong, since it is his birthday and since she has already made up her mind to confess to him.

Jiyong: Would you like to a drink? I can get one for you.

Dara: I don’t really drink. But I’d love to try the desert. (Smiles)

Jiyong: (chuckles) (lightly pinches her cheeks) just because you saw some cake, you want it already.

Dara smiled at Jiyong and it made his heart skip a beat. He cleared his throat and held her hand. Dara looked surprised as she looked at their hands.

Jiyong: Well, let’s go and get some cake then.

Dara: But…

Jiyong: I’m not letting anyone else have you tonight. Since you’re mine tonight, I want you all to myself. Don’t even look at anyone else but me.

Dara: (smiles) aigooo… are you going to be jealous even if I look at another girl?

Jiyong: mm… I want you to only look at me tonight.

Dara was taken back when Jiyong said this. She felt her heart race and her face turned red. Jiyong looked at her intently then he smiled. He tightened his hold on her hand and they went to the tables where the desserts were.

Upon arrival, Dara’s feelings calmed down when she saw all the wonderful mini cake on the table. Different kinds of desserts were also on it. A smile immediately formed on her lips
