Black ParadiseThe angel of darkness sighed for the umpteenth time. She was on the balcony gazing into the distance.
She couldn’t get that name out of her head. *Lee Byunghun. Lee Byunghun.*
Another sigh escaped the angel’s lips. She felt like she was in quicksand. Everything was going too fast for her to comprehend.
The end was coming. There was going to be something more disastrous than the quake to come. She had to battle against this Lee Byunghun angel who might be the angel that she loved.
There was a lot that she didn’t know what do to anymore. How was she supposed to react to such things that were thrown at her without her consent?
“This is one reason why I hate being an angel. I have to hold a bunch of responsibility that I don’t want. I would rather be human and carefree than this. This is just too much for me right now.” She whispered.
The sun was slowly setting. The sky was turning red and orange.
The angel of darkness pressed her lips together into a thin line. She pondered on what she wanted to do at the moment.
“Let’s hope he’s there.” She said softly, spreading her black wings.
-------
The angel of light groaned and rolled onto his back. He gazed up at the ceiling. A million things were going in his head. Most of the things in his head were Hwayoung, his angel of darkness.
“Hwayoung…” He called softly. Why did things have to turn out this way? He didn’t know, but he knew for sure that fate wasn’t on his side.
Everything that he hoped for wasn’t lasting. He had to battle the one angel that he loved more than himself. He had to fulfill his destiny or he would perish for an eternity and cause his sisters heartache. Why did it have to be him that had such a destiny?
“Stupid destiny.” He grumbled. The angel rolled onto his side so that he was facing the balcony doors that were closed. He gazed out and saw that the sun was beginning to set.
The sky was turning into a mixture of red and orange, just like how it would look like when the sun was rising in the morning.
The angel of light sat up in bed and continued to look out the window. The sun reminded him so much of how Hwayoung lit up his world.
Like she was the source of light that he needed to live. That was what she was to him, the sun.
Then he stood up knowing what he had to do. “I need to see my sun before it sets.” The angel walked over to the balcony doors, opened them, and stepped out.
He inhaled the fresh air and spread his wings, ready to take off.
-------
The angel of darkness arrived at the meadow. She gently landed on the grass and looked around.
The meadow still looked the same. Nothing changed. Not even the slightest flower or grass. Everything was exactly the same as she last saw it.
“Funny how this place stayed the same while everywhere else isn’t.” She bitterly stated. Then the sound of wings flapping caught her attention.
The angel of darkness looked up and saw the angel that she missed so much. Her heart swelled in happiness eager to see his handsome face again, but there was a little part of her heart that resented him.
The angel of light carefully landed on the grass. He stood still to make sure that his injure leg was okay, for now the angel that he loved was standing in front of him and he had to make sure that she didn’t know of his injury.
L.Joe looked up and saw the angel that he yearned for. “Hwayoung,” He breathed taking a step forward.
Hwayoung watched him walk towards her. She noticed something was off about his walk. He was slightly limping. Why would he be slightly limping? Did something happen?
Her eyes widened in realization and she commanded, “Stop!” The angel of light stopped walking and stared at her, baffled, “What’s wrong?”
“What…happened to your leg?” She asked cautiously. The angel of light stiffened at the question but quickly composed himself, shaking his head with a soft smile. “Nothing, it’s nothing to worry about.”
However, the angel of darkness didn’t believe it. She frowned, “Byunghun oppa, did you get hurt when the quake happened?”
