"Is there something on your mind?" Kris asks, putting down his finished Rubix cube and pulling something out of his drawers. 

 

"Huh? Oh, sorry." I close my eyes for a bit and let out a lot of air. "No, I'm just tired."

 

"That's the same excuse you've been giving me for the past few days!" Kris laughs.

 

"I can be tired for more than one day, thank you very much!"

 

I sort some files when a grown man bursts through the door, yelling something in mandarin.

 

I'll translate it for you....

 

"Gege! You wouldn't believe the day I had today!" The man grabs a swivel chair and slumps himself down in it. "The limo broke down and the driver expected me to carry ALL of my bags on my own! He wouldn't even help!"

 

"Calm down, Tao..." Kris says calmly.

 

Tao? As in Zitao? As in the co-owner of this company?

 

"Hey, unni-"

 

"UAHAHA!!" I spin around and hold up my arms in defence after someone touches my shoulder. When I see who it is, I clutch my chest and breath a sigh. "Jaexing, what are you doing here?"

 

"My old man is a friend of Tao oppa's, and I was sent to help him out." She pulls up a chair and joins me at my desk.

 

"Wow!" I take a quick glance at the clock, and start to pack up my things.

 

"Where are you going, unni?" Jaexing asks, passing me my sweater.

 

"It's time for me to head home."

 

"Can I come with you?"

 

"Um, sure, but don't you have parents to return to?"

 

"Yeah, well, I'm not in the mood for returning home, and I don't think anyone would care."

 

"Oh, okay. I hope you don't mind the city bus!"

 

Don't you dare give me that look! I don't want to meddle in her personal affairs, so I'm not gonna ask her anything. If she has something she needs or wants to say, she's tell me when the time is right, okay? Now, leave me alone!

 

"I'm sorry for being a pain." I hear her mumble.

 

"You're not a pain, so it's fine. Right now, there are six guys and one girl staying at my house. I don't mind another." I send a kind smile her way, and she returns it.

 

"Hey, sweet things." Some guys at the back of the bus say to us.

 

I grab Jaexing's hand and wordlessly tell her to ignore them.

 

"Hey, I was talking to you two."the three guys guys stand up and take the seat across from us.

 

"So, I was thinking, we can probably pull the extra mattress out from my garage, and you can sleep on it in my room." I say to my companion, carefully eyeing the guys.

 

"Hey!" One guy leans in and grabs Jaexing's shoulder.

 

"Oh look! It's our stop!" I stand up and pull Jaexing behind me and out of the grip of those pedos. But she pulls away and walks back over to them.

 

"Don't you EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!" She yells, sending her right leg straight between the guy's legs. She turns back to me, takes my hand, and leads me off the bus.

 

Why can't I be as awesomely brave as her, huh author-nim?

AS JAEXING AND I walk home, we feel the breeze caress of cheeks...

 

(Good girl)

 

The breeze is a little chilly, but still a blessing. The trees cast shadows  on the ground from the systematically arranged street lights, neither menacing, or inviting. The shadows just exists, creating an un detailed version of it's muse. Lights in houses turn of one by one, making the street darker. My companion andI look up and become spell bound by the night sky, astounded by the amount of stars visible tonight.

 

The two of us finally make it home.

 

"Your house is really nice." Jaexing comments, taking off her shoes and following me inside.

 

"Thank you. It was a present from my grandparents to my parents. Would you like something to drink?" I open up the fridge to see what's left.

 

"This may be an odd question, but got any orange juice?" Jaexing sits down by the island and plays with the little blue matoki...

 

"Yes, I do have some." I pour her a glass and stare at the matoki. "Yah! Toto. Why aren't you in your human form and sleeping, huh?"

 

"Unni," Jaexing puts down her glass and gives me the 'are you okay' look. "Who are you talking to?"

 

"The black bunny with the blue mask you have in your hands. His name it Totomato and he should be asleep!"

 

"What-"

 

Toto transforms into Zelo right in front of us, his mask disappeared with his bunny form, leaving him in blue pyjamas.

 

"I'll go..." He fake sobs, hanging his head as he walks to my basement door. "Goodnight noona, Jaexing." And with that, leaves.

 

Jaexing looks at me, but I hold up my hand before she can utter a word. "I'll explain everything... Later."

"Yes, appa. I promise. I just need to cool off some steam... Yes... Of course. Goodnight." Jaexing puts down the phone and slumps back into her bed.

 

"Annoying parents?" HyoJae asks, sitting by her bed.

 

"Over expecting parents."

 

"Is it just me, or do you two not look tired at all?" I laugh, drying my hair as I sit down with them.

 

"Not tired at all." They answer in unison.

 

"Wow."

 

"Yongguk oppa is going to kill you in the morning!" HyoJae giggles, finding my death funny."

 

"Why do you call him oppa?! He's an ALIEN BUNNY!! I cry out.

 

"And I still can't believe it..." Jaexing shakes her head and we all laugh.

 

Let me fill you in on the details... REWIND TO AN HOUR AGO!!!

 

"I'll explain everything... Later." I poured myself a glass of juice and put the carton back in the fridge. "But first, let's get you a bed!"

 

We snuck upstairs, got HyoJae to join us and visited my old room, where Himchan and Yongguk were sleeping.

 

"Wake up!" I whispered and poked Yongguk in the head with an old comb.

 

"Go away..." He mumbled,

 

"I'm weak, so I need you to get the extra bed for me." I poked him several more times.

 

"I said go away!" He lazily slapped the comb from my hand and turned to face the other way.

 

"Come on," Himchan stood up and pulled the covers off, making the almighty matoki leader curl up into a ball to preserve heat. "The faster we get this done, the faster we can go back to sleep."

 

Yongguk growled a y growl before he sprung out of his bed, pushed me aside (harshly) and stomped downstairs, followed by the four of us. That guy was as angry and as fierce as a hurricane! Himchan and Yongguk took down the bed and put it upstairs. Himchan demanded a good night kiss, so I quickly pecked him on the forehead before he dashed off to his room. Yongguk stood in the hallway, not moving an inch.

 

"I don't suppose you want a goodnight kiss." I crossed my arms and looked at him defiantly.

 

"Why would I want a kiss from you?!" Yongguk yawned.

 

"Good." I went back to my room and started closing the door. I couldn't close it fully because Yongguk hadn't moved an inch in that dark hallway, and it was bothering me, "oh, for goodness sakes!" I strode up to the prideful man and placed a gentle kiss on his forehead.

 

I swear, before I went back to my room, he whispered 'thank you' to me!
