A Stormy Night, Stormy Hearts
Coming Back to YouDonghyun's POV
"I said, 'I love you Dasom, Kim Dasom.' Only that hyung," he said.
He said the words that I had said to Somie right before she had that accident. I said the same sentence. Could it mean, that Somie forgot things because she wanted to forgot me, because she couldn't accept the reality that a person whom she always known as her brother was actually had no blood relation with her, and had a feeling for her?
Finally I managed to look at Hyunseong and said, "Next time, if she's having a headache again, tell her to breath and calm down. For now, until she got better,, please avoid the conversation that can make her being like that."
"O...Okay hyung. I will." he promised me, a promised that was actually I should've said.
I took him to the guest room that had been prepared before. My parents had pepared everything before they told me about Hyunseong moving to our house.
It was different that night. The weather was weird. Maybe there would be a storm.
Storm. I hoped Dasom also forgot about it. She was scared of stormy nights. She couldn't sleep at all if there was a storm.
I talked to Grandpa in his room first before I headed to sleep.
"So, how's Dasom, Donghyun-ah?" he asked when I pushed his wheelchair towards his bed. He was older, but he was still the curious Grandpa I'd seen before.
"She's fine, Grandpa, it was just, as I told you before, she cannot remember some things."
"Ahh..." Grandpa sighed and fixed his back position a bit. "Is it okay for you? Won't it hurt you? After all I know your feeling, Donghyun."
I smiled bitterly. Grandpa knew everything. He knew this feeling towards Dasom is not a joke or a play.
"It's okay." I said while helping him to move from his wheelchair to his bed.
"Remember this, for me, you're the right person for her. No one else can take your place. She feels that too." he said seriously.
I didn't say anything. I couldn't.
"Okay,..." he yawned, "Nah, now go leave me, Donghyun. I want to sleep."
"Ah, yes. Good night, Grandpa."
"Good night, Little Knight." he said to me before I walked to the door, turn off the lights, and went out.
Little Knight, who had always protected ther Little Princess.
But now the Princess already had a Prince. In the storybooks, a Princess always ended up with a Prince, not a low Knight.
I took a bath and was a bout to sleep when I saw the rain outside. The thunder suddenly clapped. I walked to Somie's room, hoping that she wouldn't be scared anymore since she forgot her memories.
In front of her door, I heard a sound of a girl crying. I opened a door and I saw her wiping. She was sitting on her bed, being frightened by the thunder.
I ran to her and comfort her, like always. She was always like this whenever it was a stormy day and she was alone.
"O-oppa," she cried. "It's okay, it's okay, Somie... I'm here."
When I hoped it would comfort her, it brought a painful sensation on her head, just like before. She grabbed my t-shirt, and I automatically hugged her.
I love her...
"O-oppaa..." she sobbed, "it hurts..."
"Ssshh... the pain will go away, trust Oppa. Don't be afraid, I'm here."
She burried her face on my chest. I could feel her irregular breath.
"I don't know why, but I'm scared, oppa...." she said again.
"You've always scared of storm, but it's okay. You will be okay if there's someone with you."
She lit up her face and looked into my eyes. "Did you always say that before, oppa?"
"Hm? Say what?"
"You always say that I'll be okay." I nodded. "Say it again, because somehow I remembered those words." she said.
"But, Dasom, then your head..." She cutted me,"say it oppa."
I had no choice, "You will be okay. It's okay, Dasommie..." I whispered.
"I... I...." she didn't finish her words, she just hugged me tight.
She sobbed a little, but then became calm again.
I looked at the clock on her room's wall. It was 1 AM.
"Somie-ya, go to sleep."
"But don't leave," she said. "I won't leave. I will sleep on the couch or on the floor."
"No..." Somie said, "sleep here,....." she was hesitated at first, but she continued her words, ".... with me."
"A-ah... okay." I was stutterring. I could feel I blushed. We often slept together in stormy days, but it was never like this.
Just a moment after I lied down on her bed, a big thunder clapped, surprising her, who quickly hugged me tight.
"Ssshhh... sleep, Somie, sleep.... "
By that she slowly slept. I was observing her face, she looked like someone who was really pure, more like a baby who still didn't know the world well.
A baby princess who still needed to be protected.
Hyunseong's POV
It was 7a.m. in the morning. I woke up but I found no one of Kim family had woken up, until I saw their Grandpa with a nurse on the second floor.
He was there, in front of.... Dasom's room?
"G-good morning, Grandpa," I gretted him while bowing. He looked at me and showed me a smile.
"Ah, good morning. So you're, Shim Hyunseong?" he asked me.
"Yes. What are you doing here, Grandpa?"
"Look at those kids..." he said, pointing inside the room.
I took a look at the room, until I realized what was going on there.
Donghyun Hyung. Dasom. Bed. Together. Hugging.
"Ahh, aren't they cute? They were always like that since they were kids." he added.
My heart...
"Shall we have breakfast?" asked Kim Grandpa. "Come on, accompany me, young man," added him.
Then we left the room, while my thought was still definitely there.
Siblings, love,........
