You stood before your mother’s door, the sky turning grey. Your hand went up slowly knocking on the door softly. You bit your bottom lip as your breathing kept on hitching.

The door flung open and you heard your mother`s surprised voice. “_____!” She exclaimed being happy as ever. As she was about to wrap her arms around you, she halted when she noticed the suitcase beside you and your head hanging low.

“What`s wrong?” She grabbed your chin making you look at her. “Omo” She wiped away your tears, your bottom lip was quivering as you looked at your mother sadly.

“Omma, I am lonely” You managed to say wrapping your arms around her. She quickly welcomed you in her embrace telling the butler to take your suitcase while she took you with her to her room.

You sat on the bed still hiccupping making your mother even more worried. “Tell me, honey. What is going on?” She sat down beside you letting you rest your head on her shoulder, crying freely.

“Kris and I are getting a divorce”

The hand that was caressing your shoulder stopped, you felt your mother`s body freezing up as she gently pushed you off her.

“Mwoh? Why?” She asked being panicked. Your eyes fell on the bed as you shook your head.

“We had a fight and, and-“ You cried not managing to speak further. “It`s all my fault omma. It`s all my fault” Your mother quickly pulled you closer to her
