Chapter 16

Day 14- Bird (Monday After Noon, around 7pm)

When Nana had quit the hospital, the sky had already turned dark since it was winter. Just as she walked down in the main street busy with traffic and honking cars, she remembered that she had to look for Yujin since she hadn’t appeared when she first sent out the bird. She took a turn into a narrow street and walked further until she could be hidden by some boxes piled on each other. She closed her eyes as she teleported somewhere else.

Nana reopened her eyes to only be greeted by a disgusting pile of garbage. She scrunched her nose because of the smell that came by one the bags that had been scratched open, by some racoons or rats probably. She pinched her nose and quickly walked out from the building’s back. When she walked up to the front, she had already gone into her invisible mode. She stopped right under the row of the house she learned to know a few days ago.

She levitated up high until she reached her room. She sat by Jooyeon’s window and crossed her legs as she looked inside. Meanwhile, Jooyeon was laying on her bed upside down with her head almost touching the floor as she watched something on the television. Nana noticed the taped boxes near her bed.

“Huh, what are those boxes for? Don’t tell me she’s moving out. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS YU?” thought Nana as she scanned the whole place.

As she scratched her chin, trying to decipher the situation, she heard voices next door, or more like, next window. She hovered over there since there wasn’t much to say about the first situation. Standing by the window, she saw two bright colored crystals. It was similar to the type she was hunting for, and this time it was yellow and green. She sneaked her hand on it and got hold of them to put them in her coat’s large pockets.

She continues levitating under the window and trying to peek in. She hears laughter and she’s surprised herself when she gasps at the scenery. Her dull Yujin is actually chuckling with two other persons, one of them doing weird expressions. They are sitting at a table with cups in hands. Nana couldn’t help but blush a little when she remarked how pretty her roommate had gotten suddenly. Even her smile made her more attractive. She could feel her heartbeat getting quicker as she stared at her.

“Ah, the cold must have gotten to my brain, haha,” she tried to shake away the thoughts.

Suddenly, the girl who was making the other two laugh, turned her head to Nana’s dir
