Dara's POV

"Ouch! My head. Where am I?" I said to myself when I woke up. I suddenly remember what happened last night.

Right. This is probably from crying last night. I'm so hungry too. What?! Its 12 already?!" I quickly got up and and went downstairs to look for something to eat.

When I got down to the kitchen, I saw Donghae preparing for something. Our eyes suddenly met, but he quickly averted it. 
 

"Go-goodmorning." I awkwardly greeted as I sat down on a chair. My heart suddenly beats faster when I saw him walking towards my seat. I gulped and looked up at him nervously as he came closer and closer until he stopped. He quickly looked down and placed a small cup on the kitchen table next to me. "Yoona left you a food in the microwave." he said coldly and quickly left.

I looked at the cup with a tea bag, dumbfounded. "Did he made this tea for me? KYAAAH! My heart!" I giggled deep inside.

"No. No. What I am thinking? Yoona probably asked him to do it. I know he can't say no to her. She is his fiancé in the first place." I frantically shook my head, trying to snap out from my fantasy but, "Why can't I stop smiling? Ughhhh... Stupid heart." I deeply sighed and quickly sipped my tea. " Bleeh! Oh Geez! It's so HOT!"

"Are you sure you okay now Dara?" Yoona asked while we were walking in the mall.

"Yoona, I told you I am fine. Sorry about yesterday btw." I replied back

"Yeah about yesterday, you guys were really sweet kyaaaaa! Dara, please be honest to me.

What do you really feels about Siwon huh?" Yoona teases

"I think he really likes you Dara." she added
 

"What are you saying Yoona? You're probably tired from work. Why did you all of a sudden want to go to the mall anyway?" Dara changed topic

"Why are you always changing the topic Dara? Why? What is wrong with Siwon? He is kind, gentleman and handsome too like his brother. Dont deny it!" Yoona teases again

"Right. Why won't you guys date each other instead? Oh.. I think he did mentioned he liked you before? What happened?" I teases back

"Stop Dara. It's a long time ago. Well. I told you before, I met him first but when he introduced his hyung to me. I fell in love at first sight." Yoona laughed

"Poor Siwon. He was broken hearted because of you." I again

"Okay fine! Let's change the topic. Well, Actually, I ---

I really need your help Dara!" Yoona quickly said while she held my hands

You see tomorrow is our anniversary and I really have no idea what to give. Also, tomorrow momma is going out for business trip and I am not really a good cook. I don't know what to prepare Dara." Yoona said anxiously

"Ah... Why don't you just eat outside?" I awkwardly asked

"I thought of that too but we always do that all the time. I want to do something new. I want to show him I did improve my cooking skills. Dara, I know you could help me in this please?" Yoona pleaded with her puppy eyes

"Sighs. What else can I do?" I replied back. 

Ughhh.. I can't say no to her

"Yeheyyy! I really love you Dara. Come on! Let's find something for him first. What do you think he likes? I gave him a perfume and watch before but he doesn't really use them. I know we've been together for 3 years but until now I don't really know what he likes. Well, I think it's because he already had everything. Help me Dara! What do you think?" Yoona anxiously asked while we were walking

I take a deep breath and think for a while. "I don't know. I think he is kind of a guy who doesn't really like material things. Why don't you give him something that you especially made for him? Like....


"Happy birthday fishboy!" I smiled to him while he was unwrapping his gifts

"So where among here is your gift rabbit?" Donghae asked 

"Nothing! Ahaha.. I didn't prepare you anything since a lot of your friends already give you one. Btw, I like Hyuna's gift for you. It must be expensive." I stuttered

"Oh.. This one..? Ro-lex? Right. This must be expensive.

So that's it..?" Donghae asked in  a low tone
"I thought you said you brought me something from Jeju? You're probably busy to remember my birthday." Donghae made face

"Of course I do remember! I always remember your birthday and of course your mom, Minzy, Siwon, even the very first time we met when we were kids" I quickly said

"Really Dara unnie? Even my birthday?" Minzy interrupted "What is this in your purse btw unnie? Is this a food?" Minzy asked while she took a brown plastic bag from my purse

"That must be Dara's gift to Donghae." Seungri, Minzy's boyfriend added

"No! It's not!" I shouted

"Woah! There's a card in here!" TOP, Dara and Donghae's friend shouted while he grabbed the card

"Give it back to me Top! Ughhh! Why are you so tall?!" I shouted back as I was trying to reach the card from him

"To Fishboy Happy 21st Birthday. From your Rabbit." TOP read the card "Aww that's sweet." he teases

"It's okay Dara unnie. Why are you so shy? We also want to know what is your gift to him." Minzy added

"Yeah. Why don't you show us your gift Dara? If its from Jeju, I'm sure its not that cheap." Hyuna grinned

"Give that to me! "  Donghae smiled as he grabbed the plastic bag from Top.

"This is mine." He said while he quickly opened it.

"Yah! Fishboy! Don't!" I tried to get it back from him but he won't let me

"A video tape?" He curiously asked then he quickly put it on the CD player.

"Hi fishboy. This is my first day in Jeju. I really miss you so much and I know you miss me too-Don't deny it!- So I recorded my life here so I do have a proved that I'm always thinking of you...."

"Please stop this now fishboy!!!" I said while I was blocking the TV. I tried to turn it off but Seungri suddenly hold me back.

Omo! I can't believe I just sang that. This is my fifth day here. I really miss you fishboy.. Remember that song? I always remember when you sang that song before I left. I wish you were here. I promise I will be back soon." Dara blushes on the video
Btw, I met a nice girl a while ago. She seems really nice."

"Yah!!!! Stop this now fishboy!"
My face becomes really hot and I feel really embarrassed. Everybody is laughing at my video.

I feel like I am going to cry.

My tears started to fall from embarrassment when Donghae walked closer and suddenly hugged me.

"Thank you rabbit. I really like it. That is the best gift I have ever received." He wisphered to me

"Okay the show is over." He said as he turned off the tv.



"Hey Dara! Like what? Are you day dreaming again?" Yoona teases

"No. Ahaha.. I mean why don't you knit him gloves for winter or make a scrap books and put all your photos together. Anything that you especially made for him."
I said while unconsciously smiling from what I just remembered.

"But I think its so girly. I don't think he will like that Dara." Yoona pouted

"Or why don't you just bake him something? How about a cake especially made for him? I think he likes cake?" I awkwardly added

"Right! How do you know that?!"

"Uhmmm...I don't know. I just guessed?" I stuttered

"You're the best Dara. Lets go buy some ingredients." Yoona excited said

I woke up early this morning and saw Yoona in the kitchen.

"Good morning Yoona. Where is everybody?" I asked her when I noticed the house was quieter than usual

"Oh. Good morning Dara. Mom went to a business meeting I told you. Minzy has school today and Siwon got a part time job. He said he needs some money to impress you. Yieeeeee Dara. He is probably going to ask you out.
And my hon went back to to his office to get something." Yoona replied back
Ughhhhh... and I'm going to work now Dara..

Help me to prepare later okay? I'm really nervous. I promise I'll be here at exactly 4pm." Yoona added

"I already told you Yoona. Of course Yes. Don't worry too much. I'll start preparing now so we will just bake and prepare for your specialty later." I smile to her

"Thank you Dara. You're really the best!" Yoona said and quickly left


I took a couple of breaths and chuckles at myself.

"I can't believe I am doing this. I am helping my girl best friend to prepare a surprise anniversary dinner for his fiancé who was also my ex fiancé. Life is really great. Sighs" Dara said to herself

Everything is set up from the table, candles, wine, flowers and of course Yoona's specialty. We're just waiting for the -- groom. Sighs
 

"I'm really nervous Dara." Yoona said
"Don't be Yoona. Just be yourself and besides, you really did improve your cooking. I'm sure he will like it" I said in a low tone

"Sighs. Thanks for encouragement Dara but I'm not only nervous for that. I'm more worried when we go to bed."Yoona anxiously said

"Huh? Why?" I asked

"You see I'm planning to make love with him tonight so I bought more y outfits but then, a lady offered me a potion.

She said if I put this syrup on his food, he would definitely feel the heat tonight so kyaaaaaaa!!!" Yoona excitedly said

"A potion?! That's ridiculous Yoona. Are you sure it will work? I don't really believe in that. What if--- what if it has something that is not good for his health?" I tried to discourage her but she still insisted.


My heart is telling me to throw it away or hide the food she prepared away from him but Ughhh... No.. stop Dara. Stop!


"Don't worry Dara. I only put a little drops on it." she insisted
Oh here he is! I heard his car. Let's turned off the light." she added

Donghae opened the door and looked for Yoona. He went to the dining room and the lights.

"Surprise! Happy anniversary honey!" she quickly run towards him and kiss him

I quickly walked to the kitchen as soon as I can. I can't bear to look at them any longer. I tried to keep myself busy to forget what I just saw.

"Oh stupid me. I forgot to bring this. I said while holding another dish I especially prepared.
Should I go back there? Ughhhh.. This is really great." I said to myself
 

"Did you prepare all of this?" Donghae said while looking at all the dishes

"Dara helped me out but I made this all especially for you. Oh try this. I called it 'Especially for you' recipe." Yoona proudly said

Donghae smiles at her and quickly tastes it while Yoona is watching at him.
Donghae forces himself to smile as he chews the meat. 

"How was it? Its obvious you doesn't like it hon. Why don't you try this? I called it, 'Yoonhae' recipe.
Donghae smiles again as he cut the meat but it is too hard. After struggling for a minute to cut it, he finally tasted it and made a thumbs up while forcing himself to smile.

"It's good? Really? Yeheyyy! I promise hon I will improve my cooking skills even more.

Let me taste it too." she tasted it and
made a funny reaction. "Oh gad! This is inedible!" Yoona pouted

"No.. It's not. I really like it hon. I like it a lot as long as it is from you." Donghae sweetly said and smiles at her

"Great timing. Sighs.." I said to myself  as I approached them.

"Here's another recipe for you guys! Happy anniversary to both of you. I hope you enjoy the rest of the night. Stay strong. Fighting!" I tried myself to smile and look happy for them but I quickly looked down when he looked at me.
 

"Thank you Dara. Thank you so much for your help. Why don't you join us here. Let's eat together." Yoona cheerfully said

"No! No. Of course not. It's your anniversary. Please don't mind me." I quickly refused

Donghae opened the cover of the recipe I brought and Yoona quickly turned to him.

"Oh-oh.. Fish.. Sorry honey. I forgot to tell Dara you're allergic to it." Yoona said when she saw the fish I brought

"You're allergic to it?" I said with my surprise reaction.

I looked at him and he was just staring at the fish.

"Yeah sorry Dara. I forgot to mention he doesn't eat fish. He even doesn't want to see fish again." Yoona sadly said

"No Yoona. I'm Sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't know. Let me get that back to the kitchen. I'm sorry again. Please continue your dinner." I said and quickly get back to the kitchen

"He doesn't eat fish anymore....? Since when?" I asked to myself

Knock! Knock!

I opened the door and Yoona suddenly hugged me.

"Thank you so much  Dara. Everything went well. Look at this." she showed me her necklace with a star pendant

"Wow... that's pretty." I said with a dumbfounded look. I felt my heart constrict painfully as I looked at the necklace.

"He gave this to me. He said I'm the star of his life from now on.

Wait a second...I remember you have a star necklace like this too, right?

The one that your fishboy gave to you? Wow! What a coincidence? I'm really happy we have the same one." Yoona cheerfully said.

"Yeah. You still remember that." I nodded weakly and looked down to hold my necklace. Tears started to fill my eyes. I took a deep breath before I forced myself to smile, to hide the excruciating pain in my chest.

FLASHBACK

"What is it now, fishboy? Aren't you tired of teasing me?!" I said to Donghae when he suddenly covered my eyes with his hand.
He removed his hand and showed a necklace with a star pendant.

"What is that?" I quickly turned back to look at him dumbfounded.

"It's a star. A star necklace. From now on whenever you are scared, just look at this. It's gonna guide your way from the darkness.

It will be your light... just like me." he said with a smile on his face.

I was so touched at what he said. I blushed deeply and my heart started to pound so fast. 

"And I bought one for me also so...

it will help me guide my way to find you wherever you will go." Donghae sweetly said with a smile on his face. "You're blushing rabbit." he teased, grinning at me.

"No, I'm not! You are so corny, fishboy." I said cupping my face with my hands. He let out a soft chuckle and gave me a sweet smile. 

I smiled back and handed the necklace he gave me so he could put it around my neck. "Yah! Look at you. You are blushing, fishboy!" I cooed, smirking.

"No, rabbit. Why don't you look at your face instead? It's like a ripe tomato." he retorted, and we burst out laughing.

"y, free, and single~~~" Donghae happily sings as he gets a water bottle from the fridge.

He then suddenly noticed the fish that Dara prepared to them.

"Yah! Why are you looking at me like that?!" Donghae gulped, looking at the fish.

"Tsk! Do you think you're attractive? No way! I don't like you anymore!

Why are you still looking at me?! Are you trying to annoy me?

Do you want to fight me?! Grrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!"

"Sighs... I have to drink a very, very, very cold water to help me flush this feelings of mine." I said to myself when I went to the kitchen, but then I suddenly saw Donghae eating my fish that I prepared to them hastily. I can't help myself to laugh. I silently went closer to him.

"I knew it! I don't remember your allergic to fish." I can't help myself to .

He then suddenly choke on the fish he was eating.
He coughs so many times while he rubs his chest.

"Are you okay?!" I quickly pat his back
I give him his water and he quickly drink it.

"How are you feeling now? Are you you okay?" I worriedly asked him

He took a deep breath and then looked at me but I can't control my laugh any longer.

I laughed so hard at his reaction.

He quickly left the room with his annoyed expression.

"Stupid me. Why am I laughing so hard? Stop now Dara.

This is the first time I laugh again like this. I really, really miss him." I said to myself while trying to stop laughing but I really can't.

"Are you okay hon? What so funny about?" Yoona asked when she saw Donghae laughing outside their room

"Nothing hon. He smiles at her.  Let's go sleep now." Donghae replied back
