DARA’s POV

My knees are shaking. I hardly could even move and walk in the darkness but I have to be strong to see the the light. I clenched hard to the star necklace that Donghae gave me as it always give me strength and power to move forward especially in the darkness. Deep inside my heart I am hoping that my Fishboy would come back and rescue me like he always does before. Unknowingly someone grabbed my hand and lead me out of the darkness. My heart skipped a beat. “Fish boy. I knew you would get me.” Tears finally escaped my eyes while running with him I saw the light shining upon us. I slowly looked at him like I was in a movie.  “I’m sorry I’m late.” He said with a smile.

“Thank you for everything.” I hugged him while sobbing hard. My heart felt so relieved that I was out of that darkness but my childish heart aches so bad as i was expecting someone....but it wasn’t him.

“Yah!! You two get a room!” Top teases 

“Siwon! Omo! When did get you here?” Yoona asked

“Just a little while ago.” He replied to them.

I immediately wiped my tears away and pretended to laugh at myself. They all teases me and him. I stole a glance on Donghae and he wasn’t even looking at me. He was hugging Yoona from behind while resting his chin over her shoulder. It pains me so much.

Why was I even expecting anything?
 

especially from him...

I was really stupid.

“What kind of love scene is that with Siwon, huh Dara?” Bom asked curiously while we were in the washroom.

“I don’t know...You know I hate that haunted house. You’re very persistent, Bom. You know I almost got a heart attack from there. If I died from there, the ghost of me would really haunt you myself." I replied

“Well, I thought Donghae will come and rescue you. So I made a commotion to get us separated. I’m so stupid! Aish! He doesn’t even bother to find you. Remember last time we went there? He almost punched the ghost that was scaring you. I really thought he would do that again.”

BOM’s POV

“I asked the owner of the Haunted house to scare us in the middle of the tour and make us separated except for Dara and Donghae. I gave them their pictures so they won’t forget. Bwhahahahahha ! I said with an evil laugh to my husband Top.

“Do you really think this would work?” Top said with a sigh.

“Trust me. I know them long time before you even know them. I’m sure Donghae would never leave her.” I said with a wink.

At the middle of the tour, I pretended to scream and scared the hell out of them. Minjie and Seungri went to the left. Top and I went to the right and I grabbed Yoona with me. Top grabbed Jiyong and covered his mouth. That little kid. Aish!

While running fast, Yoona got separated with us too. I immediately ran to the back to check the monitor. There I saw Donghae, carrying Yoona. I was so pissed and tried to look for Dara when I saw her running with Siwon. 

“What’s going on?” I asked myself.

Author’s POV

Dara’s heart shattered in million pieces while listening to Bom and her failed plan. Bom left the the washroom while Dara entered the cubicle to pee. Bom said she will wait for Dara outside because she couldn’t deal with the smell of the washroom. She told her about her pregnant hormone that makes her puke more if she smells something bad. 

Yoona entered the washroom with Minzy at the same time. 

“So what happened Yoona unnie inside the haunted house? Are you sure you’re not really hurt?” Minzy asked.

“No, Minjie. I’m fine. It was so dark a while ago someone grabbed me and I fell but Donghae quickly found me so I’m fine.” Yoona said giddily.

“A knight in shining armor came to the rescue, huh?” Minjie teases

Dara heard their conversation. She tried to hold her tears but she can’t. “It should have been me. If only I was brave enough like her..” She told herself.

Donghae’s POV

“This is a stupid idea.” I told myself but I just sighed upon hearing Bom’s suggestion for us to go to the haunted house. I know what she’s trying to do. She’s really persistent. 

I hate amusement park. I hated it ever since I was young. I thought this was the childish place in the world. What else could you say? Amusement park was only for a kid anyway. That’s why when Dara asked me to come here when we’re still together, I tried to avoid it. We’ve been through a lot of fights just for dodge this theme park. But then Bom and Dara were so persistent and so we had our first official date here. She made me ride a roller coaster, she made me wear a stupid girly head band, she made me buy her a cotton candy. It was very cheesy for me. But I slowly starting to like it.

She never liked dark places ever since so I was surprised when she agreed to go to the hunted house. At the end, she confessed it was Bom’s idea. I almost went to jail punching the ghost who grabbed her. She was very grateful of me. She told me it was the best date she ever had in her life. 

“Are you okay, hon?” Yoona asked me. Are you scared of ghost too?” 

“No. Are you?” 

“No.” Yoona said in reply, but she immediately closed her eyes as soon as the lights turned off.

“Yeah right.” I laughed

While cruising around the darkness inside the haunted house, my mind couldn’t stop thinking of her. I know she must be very scared. 

And then suddenly we heard a loud THUD!

All of them shouting and running in different directions. I saw Top grabbing Jiyong and covering his mouth. 

“This is very obvious.” I told myself with a sigh

I looked at the back and there I saw here. She was very scared like I imagined. She still has night blindness like what she told me when we were young. I was frozen from my spot while staring at her. My heart suddenly dropped. A flood of memories flashback from my head. It felt like it was just yesterday when we had our date here. It broke my heart. My tears was about to fall and I was almost about to grab her when I heard Yoona’s voice.

I suddenly woke up from my trance and immediately look for Yoona. She was on the floor and I think she was hurt. My heart skipped a beat. I suddenly remember the times when she encouraged me to get up and give my life another chance. I quickly hugged her and asked her if she was okay. She smiled at me, re-assuring me she was fine. I felt so relieve and I kissed her. “Thank God you’re alright. Don’t do this again, okay?” She nodded and kissed me back. I carried her and for once, I completely forgot about my past.

Dara texted Bom and asked her if she could stay to their house until she fulfill Yoona’s wish.

“Bom, please?”

“Are you really serious? Okay, let’s say you don’t have anymore feelings at all towards Donghae. Are you still going his wedding? Are you out of your mind?! Plus you’re not just attending, you are the maid of honor! Are you really crazy?!”

“I already promised Yoona. Besides, I don’t want her to think anything suspicious of me and Donghae if I suddenly backed out. I don’t know. I don’t know anymore. I can’t really think right now. Please help me?!”

Dara packed all her belongings and didn’t wait for Yoona and Donghae to wake up. She texted Yoona and apologized but still promise her she will come to her wedding.

Yoona woke up and immediately got up as soon as she saw Dara’s text. She wonder why out of nowhere she decided to leave. Donghae woke up and saw Yoona pacing back and forth the room, trying to call on her phone.

“Are you okay, hon?” Donghae asked Yoona

“Dara left all of a sudden. She didn’t even say it in personally. She just texted me saying sorry she has to go but she said she will still go to our wedding. I’m worried about her. I think something is bothering her and she wouldn’t say it to me.”

Donghae smiled sadly whispering to himself, “of course. She left again.” 

“Don’t worry about her. She’s not a kid. I’ll go back to sleep.” Donghae replied to her coldly.

Yoona sighed and left the room.

“Why am I still not used to it? Why am I still hurting?” Donghae asked himself while hugging the pillow tightly.

Siwon POV

“Retinitis pigmentosa, one common symptoms of it is night blindness. It’s a genetic disorder that causes loss of vision. Those medications you mentioned are prescribed in high doses. That means her conditions are really getting worst.” I said to her, immitating what the doctor told me.

“Interesting. It’s like a plot in a sad movie. Don’t you think so?”

“I don’t care. Past is past. It still not right that she just left him just like that because of what?! Because she has that Reti-whatever illness it that! Donghae oppa almost died because of her. If she really love oppa, she would never leave him because she knows oppa would accept whatever she has without even a doubt!”

“I think you’re a little bit harsh Minji. Don’t you just give her a little credit for thinking she might be a burden to hyung that’s why she left him?”

“She left him hanging. Not only him, but us! All of us who loved her. Oppa almost died because of her and I won’t ... I will never forgive her even with that petty reason! She didn’t think of us as her family. She is very selfish!” Minzy said angrily  

Siwon Flashback

It was almost midnight and I couldn’t find hyung. He must be drowning himself again with alcohol. We were in Jeju Island because one of sources told us they saw Dara here few days before she disappeared. Donghae hyung had been looking for her, begging Dara’s mother to tell him where she go but there still no trace of her. I was also hurting see him like this. I wanted to punch him or just leave him alone to die with depression and loneliness but out of no where I met Yoona. I saw her in bar where Donghae hyung went to at that night. I couldn’t erase her face in my mind even after few weeks passed by. I tried to go back there but I didn’t see her anymore. Not until one day when I was ready to give up.

“Yah! Don’t you know how to read a sign?! NO SMOKING HERE!” a somewhat familiar voice shouted behind me inside a restaurant.

I looked at her and my heart suddenly skipped a beat. It was her. I finally found her.

“Yah! Are you deaf?!” She asked angrily.

“Oh.” I removed the stick in my mouth and stepped on it. “I’m sorry, I didn’t see the sign.”

“You don’t see the sign, NO LITTERING HERE!, too? I think something is wrong with your eyes.” She scowled at me while cleaning up the table.

I chuckled at her cuteness and she became more upset. “Anyway, why are you so mad at me, miss...?

“I’m not mad! I just hate it when people are defying a law!”

“Ohh.. same here. I hate those kind of people. We’re really match in heaven.” Siwon said with a wink

“Yeah right!” Yoona said with a glare. She immediately walked back away but I grabbed her hand pulling her towards me.

“I didn’t get your name yet. By the way I’m Siwon. I think we met before briefly at a bar. I know you told me your name before but I can’t barely remember. It was a bad night at that time until I saw you.” I said with smile

“Wow. I know why, because you met a lot of girls at that night. You probably mistaken me as one of those girls with no name!” She brushed my hands off and walked away. 

“Feisty.” I said to myself with a smile

I waited for her in the restaurant the whole day until she finished her job.

 I followed her down everyday like a stalker until she gave in.

“My name is Kim Yoona! Are you happy?! Now leave me alone! Crazy.“

“Yes, I’m happy! So happy. Can I get your number too? It’s so hard for me to wait day by day without knowing if I can see you again in the restaurant. I want to know more about you.”

“You want to know more about me? Work for it. I’m not an easy girl like your other girls!” She said rolling her eyes.

I couldn’t help but to smile. I was very happy at that time. The heaviness and loneliness in my chest seemed to lighten up when i first saw her. Everything around me became cheerful. I felt I was alive again. I’m glad I saw her first.

“Why is he here again?” Taecyon, Yoona’s friend in jeju complained while helping Yoona cleaning the dishes.

“I don’t know. He must be a stalker.” she replied.

“Yah! Leave! Or else I will call a police!” Taecyon shouted at me. The manager quickly whacked his head and told him to apologize to me. I shook my head and smiled. “It’s okay. No worries.” I told the manager I wanted to get a position in the restaurant free of charge so I can get closer to Yoona. Yoona shook his head and smiled at me with sarcasm. 

“Are you crazy?! Working here free of charge! Do you really have nothing useful to do in your life?!” She shouted angrily

“Nothing, besides baby seating my brother...You also told me to work for it to get to know more about you, right?” I answered with a wink. 

“Baby seating?! Then why are you here? How old is your brother and why aren’t you with him when you’re baby seating him?!”

“I don’t know where to find him. He must be at the bar, drowning himself with alcohol again. I hope he still alive when I find him.” I said, my eyes suddenly filled up with tears out of no where. I avoided her gaze trying to dry up the tears that was about to fall in my eyes. I tried to change the topic but she cut me off.

“I’m sorry... I didn’t mean..” She replied with guilt in her eyes.

“Only if you agree to eat out with me later.” I said with a wink.

She just glared at me and sighed before she grabbed my phone which was on top of the table.

“What’s the passcode?” She asked

“Are we already on that level? You’re so fast..” I said with a chuckle, surprised by her action

“Then forget it.” She replied.

“1979”

She put in her phone number and call herself on my phone before she rolled her eyes. 

“I’ll see you after work.” She told me

“Yes, boss” I smiled at her back as I followed her with my glance. “YES! Wohooo!” I shouted loudly and people in the restaurant couldn’t help but laughed at my action.

Before I was about to save her number, I noticed someone is calling me on my phone. I answered it and immediately left hurriedly.

Authors POV

Siwon met a tall guy and gave him a folder. Siwon immediately opened the paper which contained Dara’s pictures, her latest whereabouts, and some documents. He smiled sadly before he reached for his phone in his pocket.

“Hyung, I found her. She’s not here anymore. She already in New York. She’s going back to school there like what she always wanted. She left you for good. Let’s go home?” he said on the phone with a sad smile.

Siwon’s POV

As soon as I received the news about Dara, I felt relieved that she’s alive but at the same time I felt a gush of hatred on her. She left my hyung to go to NY without even telling him. What is worst is that she go there for her ambition. She’s very selfish. I met with Donghae hyung and gave him the folder with her pictures abroad. He saw pictures of her in NYU hospital. “She must be really going for her masters.” Donghae hyung said to himself. At the end of the filed pictures he saw a familiar face with Dara and that broke his heart in a million pieces.

Author’s POV

Yoona looked at the mirror inside the bathroom while fixing her hair. She smiled biting her bottom lip before she put her pink lipstick on. 

She walked out of the bathroom and scanned around the restaurant but Siwon was not around. She scratched her head in annoyance and sat at the vacant chair, patiently waiting for him.

“Grrrrrrhhh! This is unbelievable. I’m so stupid! What am I even thinking?!” She scolded herself while looking at her phone. “I’m leaving!” Yoona shouted to the restaurant staff. 

“Wait for me, Yoona!” Taecyon replied back but she’s already gone out. 

Yoona was very annoyed just by thinking of Siwon. She kicked a small rock along the way when she saw familiar guy. She pushed him out of annoyance. “Yah! You really think I’m a toy that you can just play anytime you’re bored?!”

She shouted. The guy didn’t even bother to look at her. She grabbed his shoulder making him looked at her. Her eyes went huge.

“I’m sorry! I thought it was someone I know.” Yoona apologized. His face suddenly registered in her mind. She remembered the night she was at the bar with Taecyon. She bumped into him before she saw Siwon. “By any chance, are you Siwon’s brother?” Yoona asked, she covered her nose with her shirt as he smells too much alcohol.

Donghae was so drunk. He’s whole body smelled like he showered a whole gallon of alcohol beverage. He was about to ignore her when he noticed something in her hand. 

“Where did you get that?!” He said pointing at her ring, swaying like he was about to fall.

Yoona was taken a back when he saw him pointing at her ring. She knows Taecyon found it at the bar on that day he bumped into him.

“Is this ring yours? Let me explain.” 

Donghae immediately grabbed her waist, pulling her inches away from each other. Yoona covered her nose with her hands as he really stinks.

Donghae grabbed her hand and tried to pull out the eternity ring but he couldn’t.

“I told you! I can’t remove it. I tried. I saving up money to go to the clinic to make them remove it. I promise I will send this back to you” she begged but Donghae was preoccupied with Dara’s ring.

Yoona pushes him away and run away from him, crossing the street as fast as she could but then she heard a loud honk and a loud boom!

She turned back and her eyes went huge from what she saw. She froze from her spot. She saw Donghae at the middle of the road in front of a truck with loads of blood all over him.

She ran back towards him. Her knees was shaking. She tried to call Siwon with her hands shaking. She began to do a cpr, pumping his chest as fast as she could before giving him mouth to mouth. “Please come back. Please hold on. I’m really sorry.”
