Prologue

"Dara, my rabbit..." Donghae shyly started, scratching the back of his head to hide his nervousness... "I have been thinking about this for a long time. You know, you and I have known each other since we were young, and umm... I just realize how long it has been since the very first time I laid my eyes on you way, way back when we were five." Donghae said with a shy smile on his lips as he blushed, "I already told you this many times and I will tell you again how much I love you more than anything else, more than you could have ever imagine, more than my life..... ever since we were five." he all of a sudden chuckled while wiping his slight sweat dripping on his brows. He audibly exhaled before he continued, "I know this is too cheesy but please...Ms. Sandara Park, my one true love, my everything, my life, my rabbit accept this ring as a sign of my everlasting love. Marry me my rabbit... please?" Donghae asked while kneeling down in front of Dara, in the restaurant.

Dara blinked a few times before she snapped out, "Fishboy, what are you...th-this... stop playing please. It is so embarrassing. There are lots of people here." she sputtered. "I don't care what other people think rabbit. I'm serious. All I want is to hear your sweet yes." he looked up at her with a serious gaze.

"But I... I told you we are not ready yet. This is not the right time, fishboy." Dara said with a shocked expression but still blushing. 

"What do you mean by not ready yet? As long as I love you and you love me, everything will be fine. I only need you in my life rabbit. You are my everything." Donghae replied back, still kneeling with a pleading look in his eyes. Dara froze on her spot. Her heart was pounding really fast. She was really touched to hear those words but seeing the sincerity in his eyes only breaks her heart even more. She felt like her heart had just broken into million pieces. "It is not that easy Donghae. Besides, I told you I still have a lot of dreams. You too....right? " she said with a shaky voice, trying to avoid his eyes.

"I don't get it rabbit. We have been living together for so long. We have known each other ever since we were young. My dreams? How many times should I tell you, rabbit? My only dream is just to be with you. I love you and I will do anything just to be with you forever." Donghae said as he pulled Dara down and cupped her face with his hand. "Look at me rabbit. Do you love me too?" he softly asked as he brought her face up to look straight into his eyes.

"I know Donghae. I love you too but---" she said weakly, but Donghae quickly cut her off. "But what?! If you really love me then say yes." he pulled Dara towards him more and kissed her lips passionately. He pulled her back gently and smiled, "Please say yes rabbit. I promise, I will do anything just to make you happy. We will do our dreams together...me and you, my one true love."

"Don't accept it Dara! Don't be selfish! Please let him go... but why? Why can't I say no to him? Why can't I control my hopeless heart?! Why is it so hard to let him go?! " Dara said to herself as she felt tears clouding her vision.

"Yah! Sandara Park?! My knees are really tired now from kneeling down. Answer me now.....Please?" Donghae playfully pouted and clasped his hand together like he was praying, "If you don't answer me at the count of three, I will umm.. jump off this building! One... Two... Thre--" he demanded.

"Yah! Stop being corny, fishboy!" She bit her lips as she forced herself not to cry but her whole body refused to listen. "Three!" Donghae exclaimed loudly and immediately got up, turning his back towards the window.

"Ugh! Why are you doing this to me fishboy?! Fine! Yes! I will marry you!" Dara blurted out her thoughts, finally letting her tears fall. She immediately wrapped her arms around him, burying her face on his chest. "Stupid fishboy." she cried out. Donghae grinned as he pumped his fist up into the air screeching joy. People watching them couldn't help but to smile and clap their hands at their sweet moments.

"I couldn't control myself. My heart is just too powerful than my mind but... But I love him more than myself so I am willing to do anything just to make him happy. He deserves to be happy forever." Dara said in her mind  as her tears continued to fall uncontrollably.

"This is the best night I've ever had rabbit. Thank you for saying yes. I promise, I will be a good husband and a good father to our children. I will forever be yours and I will always love you even when your hair turns gray." Donghae happily said while they were lying on the bed hugging each other.

"I know fishboy. You will be the best husband and father to all your children but... your hair will also turn gray. Pabo! 

You'll be such an amazing grandfather. Fishboy Ha-ra-bu-jee! ha! ha!"

"I don't mind as long as I am with you... rabbit Hal-mu-nee." he retorted sweetly as he lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles. "Tsk! Corny harabujee!" Dara exclaimed giddily and started blushing. "I love you, fishboy, soooooooooooooo much! More than anything else in the whole wide world and I will do anything just for you. Anything! Remember that, okay? I want you to become happy forever." Dara said as her tears welled up in her eyes.

"Being with you forever rabbit is the only reason I could be happy forever." Donghae softly said and kissed her forehead. 

His words repeatedly rang in Dara's ears, and stung at her heart, "I know fishboy. Please be happy forever." she whispered to him while she gently pecked on his lips. I'm sorry fishboy. I know you will thank me later on. You will be much better off without me. You will find someone better who could take care of you and make all your dreams come true. You and her will live happily ever after. I promise." Dara added in her mind as she hunched over in pain.  "I am contended just to see you happy. 

"I will always love you... my fishboy." Dara said to herself as he watched his beautiful face for one last time while waiting for him to fall asleep. She exhaled slowly, examining and memorizing his features on his sleeping, "I can't take this any longer."  she quickly and quietly packed all her things up. Bringing only happy memories they shared together.

"This is for you fishboy. You will always be in my heart. Please be happy forever." she said quietly while looking at him sleeping, and tears started to stream down to her face as she left their house, their dreams, and her one true love.

==== ONE YEAR LATER...====

"Why are you always ignoring me Mr. Annoying? Do you really hate girls?" Yoona playfully said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Oh, I know! Maybe you are gay!" she chuckled.

"Aish! How about you?! Why are you always talking to me? Are you a stalker?! Are you really this aggressive when it comes to seducing a guy?! Donghae bursts angrily.

 Yoona's eyes went wide as she swung her fist towards his face as hard as she could. "What did you just say? Are you really this kind of person?! I thought you were different from all the other guys I met. I was completely wrong!" Yoona cried as she turned her back but Donghae quickly grabbed her arm. He gulped before he started, "I'm sorry. I just...I'm still not ready to be in a relationship." Donghae said weakly while looking down.

"Is it because of your ex?! It has already been a year since she left you! She didn't even bother to say her reason. Why are you wasting your life looking for the person who doesn't even want you! Why do you need to suffer for her?!" Yoona sobbed hard.

"I promise Donghae. I will make you forget her. I promise I will make you happy, and you will never ever remember her again. She doesn't deserve you." 

Yoona slowly leaned towards Donghae and kissed him gently.

Donghae stood frozen and closed his eyes, "I will try to forget her. I will try to be happy again."

==== Five years later... ====

It has been five years since Dara left Donghae for no known reason. Donghae spent his day and night untiredly looking for her and deeply became depressed until she met Yoona by accident from his vacation to Jeju Island.

Yoona is beautiful, kind, funny, and down to earth. She is a perfect ideal girlfriend of a lot of guys.

Though Yoona and Donghae were like cat and dog at first, she finally got Donghae's heart and helped him moved on from his loneliness. Donghae became really attached to Yoona that he has finally forgotten about his sad past. He proposed to Yoona and she happily accepted it. They quickly scheduled their wedding for next month.

"Hon, would you mind if you give me a ride to the airport this afternoon? My highschool best friend that I always tell you about is finally coming back from New York to be my maid of honor. I insisted her to stay here until she go back to New York. I really want her to meet you before we get married. We promised we will be maid of honor of each other back in high school. I'm sure you will definitely like her. Please?" Yoona excitedly said.

"So you guys are really that close huh?" Donghae looked at her suspiciously. Yoona nodded. "Why do I feel a little jealous? Ha! ha! Of course hon. I will squeeze her to my schedule. Just make sure she is pretty like you." Donghae playfully said.

"Actually she is prettier than me." Yoona pouted. "Don't fall in love with her okay?" Yoona added as she narrowed her eyes at him.

"What if I fall in love with her? Well, if she is really prettier than you, you must hide her from me instead." Donghae teased again and winked at her.

"No! I won't let that happen! I will die first! Hmp!" Yoona growled and rolled her eyes, "But.... I know you will never do that. I trust you hon." Yoona added and gave him a sweet smile. Donghae quickly pulled her towards him and kissed her, "Thank you for trusting me. I only love you, Yoona. I promise." Donghae smiled back as he hugged her tightly.

It is raining hard when Yoona and Donghae got into the airport.  "Ugh! Hon, I don't think we could get a parking closer here. It is raining so hard. Is it okay if I stay here instead? I think it's much easier so you guys won't need to walk that far. I'll just wait for you and your beautiful friend here." Donghae said and winked at her.

"No problem sir!" Yoona replied back and quickly opened the door, but Donghae quickly grabbed her hand. "Is there something wrong hon?" Yoona worriedly asked, dumbfounded.

"Nothing. Just come back quick. I'm going to miss you A LOT!" Donghae playfully said and winked at her again.

Yoona gave him a sweet smile, "Aww..You are really cute honey but I'm not leaving Korea. I'm just going to pick my best friend up, pabo." Yoona playfully said and pecked him on his lips.

I'll be back hon really "QUICK" with my "BEAUTIFUL" best friend." Yoona winked back while waving at Donghae as she ran towards the airport.

"Where is she? Why until now she is not here yet?" Yoona worriedly asked while waiting, "Her flight must have been delayed. I hope she is oka---." she added when someone suddenly covered her eyes.

"Dara?! Is that you?!" She shrieked like a little girl and Dara bursts out laughing, "How do you know its me?! ha ha! Best friend I miss you!"

"Tsk. Because you are the only whose doing that to me. I miss you too best! Kyaaaa! It's been a long time!" Yoona excitedly said while hugging Dara tightly. "Wait!" Dara playfully took Yoona by her shoulders and pulled away a little. 

"Best! You look really umm... different?! You must be really in in love! Kyaaaa! so where is the lucky guy?" Dara added giddily.

"I know! You really know me Dara. Waaaah! I miss you so much! This is just like before. Wait! Are you okay now? How is your eyes? Come on let's catch up in the car. That lucky guy is waiting for us." Yoona shyly said while blushing.

"Ha! ha! You are blushing!" Dara said teasingly, pointing a finger at her face. "You are so cute when you are in love Yoona. Let's go! I'm so excited to interrogate your prince." she added in a teasing voice.

"That blue car! Let's go Dara!  I'm so excited to introduce you to Donghae." Yoona excitedly said while running along with Dara.

"Okay! Geez Yoona. C-calm down a little bit! Ha! Ha!" Dara said while panting, "Wait, what is his name again?" Dara added but her eyes quickly grew bigger when they reached the blue car.

Donghae quickly got off from the car when he saw Yoona coming but his eyes suddenly widened like he saw a ghost from his past.

"Honey! Here she is! My beautiful best friend! Dara. My high school buddy that I'm always talking about. Dara, this is Donghae my prince charming." Yoona cheerfully said while giggling.

Dara and Donghae suddenly became visibly pale while staring at each other with their eyes wide open. Yoona looked at them confused at their expression, "Hello! guys..?" Yoona's looked back and forth between Dara to Donghae, who are still staring at each other.

"Dara? What's wrong with your face? You look really pale. Hon? What's going on? Do you guys know each other?" Yoona confusedly asked when she noticed their strange reaction. Dara quickly snapped out from her deep thoughts and frantically waved her hand, "Ah N-no! Hi. I'm Sandara Park. I'm Yoona's high school best friend. It is nice to meet you Do-Donghae." she said in a broken voice and bowed her head. "Its..." Donghae gulped, " It's nice to meet you too." Donghae said weakly when he got his senses back.

"So what are we waiting for? Lets go home now. I'm sure Dara is already hungry. I have lots of things to tell you Dara about me and Donghae, and how we met. Oh! and don't forget our promise to each other! You are my maid of honor. Remember?" Yoona excitedly said while Dara and Donghae were completely preoccupied about their sad past.
