“Appa... I brought you some hot pumpkin soup that Aunt just cooked”, you exclaimed as you pushed open the heavy oak doors to the master bedroom. You smiled affectionately, watching your father prop himself up against the bed post, his face restored with noticeable colour. “You look much better today Appa”, you whispered while planting a kiss on his forehead. “Of course... If I don’t take care of myself, my good daughter will nag at me again”, your father teased, his kind eyes twinkling with good-natured mischief. Chuckling to yourself, you sat on his bed gently, holding the bowl of hot soup carefully. “You got that right”, you said smugly before scooping a generous amount of the orange-pulpy soup. After blowing on it gently, you held the spoon up to his mouth. It was extremely relieving to know that your father was finally regaining his appetite. In the one week that you were gone, he had been so worried that it had taken a toll on his health. He suffered from an intensified extent of insomnia and loss of appetite, which posed great risks because of his illness. You were overwhelmed with an extreme sense of guilt and sadness; how could you have not spared a thought for his health? Since you were back, you had been spending a lot more time with him. The Television buzzed as it . Your father flipped the channels absent-mindedly.  You make me go insane! She gives me so much pain! I won’t be back again! The familiar melody made you whip your head around in excitement. “It’s BTOB OPPAS!!” You exclaimed loudly while bouncing uncontrollably on the bed, the bowl of soup balancing dangerously on your palm. Your father chuckled at your fan girl reaction as the both of you turned your attention to the television. It was a rerun of yesterday’s music bank. BTOB were a week into their live promotions, and because of their busy schedules, you were barely able to spend time with them. Setting the bowl of pumpkin soup on the dresser, you noticed the proud grin that had formed on your father’s face. “Oppa is great, isn’t he?” You nodded at the television, where Min Hyuk was rapping his part in Insane. “Of course, he’s my son you know”, your father said with a happy smile. Oppa would be so happy if he heard that. “Mi Young ah~ I know initially I had issues with this path that Min Hyuk had chosen for himself, but watching him on stage now... He really belongs there. And I couldn’t be more proud of him”, Your father exclaimed in a soft voice, his mouth crinkled up in a smile. You felt your heart swell up as you threw your arms around his neck. “Me too Appa, me too”, you whispered. With eyes that curved up in a wrinkly smile, your father patted your head gently. “Min Hyuk’s a really good guy you know... His future girlfriend would be really lucky; don’t you think so Mi Young ah?” Your father crooned suddenly, shooting you a mischievous glare. You felt your cheeks redden at the suggestion. “Errrr yeahhh. Of course”, you managed to choke out despite your shock. Does Appa know about us? He couldn’t have known! Crap! “Ahhh appa, I better bring this bowl back down to Aunt. Get some rest mhmm?” With a last peck on his cheek, you disappeared out the door, oblivious to his knowing smirk.

“Why do I feel like Appa knows something”, you whispered to yourself worriedly. Although you and Min Hyuk were dating, no one knew except for BTOB and their managers. Despite Min Hyuk assuring you that he didn’t care if the public found out about your relationship, you couldn’t help but try to keep it under wraps, for both your family and his sake. Some rumours were better avoided. It was a Thursday morning and BTOB was busy with their respective schedules. Eun Kwang was at a company discussion about future plans for the leader to emcee at Studio C. Min Hyuk and Sung Jae were hosting for MTV The Show. Peniel, Chang Sub and Ilhoon were at the company training hard while Hyun Sik focused on his composing talents. “It’s been almost a month since BTOB oppas debuted. Time really flies huh”, you thought with a smile. With nothing to occupy your time, you decided to head out for some shopping. “It’s been a while since I’ve gone out”, you chimed excitedly before pulling out some clothes from the gigantic dresser in your room.

After pulling on a casual white dress, you pulled on a brown leather jacket. “Going out Young Mistress?” Alfie called from across the hallway, her wrinkled hands moving with admirable agility as she attacked the dusty cobwebs stringing the oak furniture. You nodded brightly. After giving her a warm hug, you exclaimed a goodbye before skipping down the steps. Soon you arrived in the characteristic streets of Ewha’s Women’s University. It was common for people to frequently shop at more popular areas such as Myeong Dong or Dong Dae Mun. However, you loved just walking these quiet streets and soaking up its tranquil atmosphere. The many rows of small shops were linked almost like a labyrinth, dotted with picturesque cafes that served the best coffee. The best part? The clothes were cheap and affordable. Technically, you could definitely afford to shop at the expensive streets of Apujeong. It didn’t mean that you wanted to though. Some things would never change. After an hour of leisurely browsing through the endless streets of shops, your legs were starting to get a little numb. You had bought a chiffon two-toned dress, a navy blue top, and a pair of comfortable heeled boots. Your other hand was carrying another bag filled with various items for your BTOB oppas. You had bought Eun Kwang a black printed shirt, in a military design. For Hyun Sik, you saw the perfect black fedora lined with brown ts. Chang Sub had a recent addiction for sun glasses, so you bought him a heavily tinted black pair of aviators. That would probably satisfy his newfound “celebrity illness”.  For the youngest maknae, you had found a black and red cap. Sung Jae had a recent obsession with such hats, and was really sad when he lost a favourite red one. Hopefully, he liked this new one you had bought. For Ilhoon, you had chosen a few chunky leather bangles that suited his fierce and aloof persona (On stage). Well, in real life he was probably the exact opposite. And lastly, you had spotted the perfect ring that reminded you of Min Hyuk. It was a black and silver rimmed ring with a pair of wings attached to it. Wings. It looked so much like the wings on BTOB’s logo. This is perfect for oppa. You smiled happily while purchasing the small gift. Feeling like Santa Claus, you decided that you deserved a break from all that walking.  You spotted a quaint looking cafe in the distance and decided to grab some coffee. “One iced mocha please”, you ordered rather absentmindedly, distracted by the beautiful decor of the cozy cafe. After grabbing your drink, you looked around for an empty seat. Suddenly, your gaze fell upon a familiar profile of a slim girl with long waves of hazelnut coloured hair. “Seo Yeon Unnie?” You asked softly, watching the girl turn around in shock. “Mi Young? What are you doing here?” She asked with widened eyes, her tone lacking the usual air of indifference. “What are you doing here Unnie? Didn’t you go back to America? Peniel oppa said you were still there! Does he know you’re back?” You bombarded relentlessly. With a sigh, she tugged on your arm, making you take the seat beside her. “Ah no... Peniel doesn’t know I’m back... Things are... complicated”, She admitted quietly, eyes flashing with obvious hurt. “He told me everything, including what happened in the past”, you admitted as well, hoping that she wouldn’t be angry. Her petite figure collapsed slightly in another sigh. “It’s okay... It doesn’t matter anymore anyways”, she chimed with a sad smile.  “Listen Unnie... He still loves you! You have to give him another chance... I know you still love him”, you urged while laying your hand on her arm. You watched her eyes flutter gently towards your hand. You watched intently, smiling when she nodded slightly. When she looked up, you were shocked to see the corners of her eyes glistening. “Thank you, Mi Young ah... I don’t understand how you can still be this good to me after all I did to you and Min Hyuk”, she stutted regretfully, eyes downcast. “I forgive you Unnie... I knew you were a good person inside. Just promise me that you’ll contact Peniel oppa?” You said with a soft smile that Seo Yeon soon mirrored... With that she stood up, wiping her tears away. “We’ll meet again Mi Young ah”, she whispered breathlessly, embracing you in a tight hug. After exchanging a last goodbye, she left the cafe, leaving you caught up in the sudden wave of emotions. I really hope they find their way back to each other...
