MOMO'S POV

I am so upset right now. This should be my happiest day. She promised me but...

'I'm really sorry, babe. It's just, my dad won't let me go. I know how much you were looking forward for tonight.' She told me again and I know she didn't want this to happen but still, I want this day to be mine. I tightened my grip hard on my phone, knowing I couldn't do anything about this anymore.

"Yeah. It's okay. I understand." I don't have a choice anyway. I need to understand.

'I-I'm really sorry. I know I made a promise.' I should've seen this coming. You're twice busier these days. I should've not expected too much. It's partially my fault too.

"It's okay..." So I'll just accept this. I sighs, and smile forcefully. "Maybe I'll just wait on you here in your apartment-"

'NO!' I got stunned. She just, shouted on me? Really?

'I mean, don't wait for me. I don't think I can go home anyway. I don't want to disappoint you more. Just- Just go home on Mina.' I sigh again. I don't really have strength to argue now. Let's just, stop this.

"Okay. Goodluck on that family business meeting of yours. I'm just, really tired right now that I don't think I can talk anymore." I honestly told her, and she was in silence for a long time. I was about to speak up until...

'S-sorry." She's apologizing again. "H-happy Anniversary.' I scoffs on my thoughts.

"Yeah, Happy Anniversary. Bye."

'I love-' I ended the call immediately. I don't think I can hear that right now.

I wandered my eyes around me. I made such efforts designing her room and cook her favorite and I can't believe I did all of this just for nothing.. All I want is for us to eat together and look at the stars, cuddling each other like I want. How simple is that right? I looked outside seeing how beautiful the moon is as well the stars this night. The night that should have been perfect if she just came. I walk over on Nayeon's bed and lie down.

Just a nap, and I'll go. I felt really tired right now.

 

I slowly open my eyes. Seeing the cieling while my head was just empty. I turned my head on my side and saw the clock. It is almost 11pm already. I seated realizing I slept for too long. I think Mina is worried about me already. I know Nayeon usually informs her when I'll come home.

I get my phone but I didn't saw any text from Mina, instead, I saw three texts from Nayeon. I opened it.

[From now on I'll be your star, Momo.]

[I love so much. Please don't forget that.]

[And I'm sorry. I hope someday you will be able to forgive me.]

I suddenly felt guilty getting mad at her earlier. I should've not acted so childish earlier and at least talk to her genuinely.

I dialed her number hoping I can at least talk to her for a minute. I was waiting for her to answer when I heard the door opens from the living room. I stop for a moment trying to process the situation.

'Nayeonie!' I whispered as I realized. My lips just curves by this happiness I am feeling right now. I was about to run to her but remember she didn't know I'm still here.

Should I surprise her? I should.I grin and walks silently towards at the side of door thinking I could surprise her when she opens it. I waited.

"Momo is calling you just now."

Eh? I stops.

Sunbae? It's definitely IU Sunbae's voice. What is she doing here, this late? I suddenly felt afraid without any reason yet.

"Let her. Just get here and cuddle me. I am so tired with our date."

My whole excitement just drops. What is this, I am hearing right now?

"How can you made me climb a mountain? You know I got tired easily."

"Hehe, well I'm sorry. But don't lie to me, you enjoyed it."

"Yeah, yeah."

"But pls next time .let's date on other places than mountains."

"Okay. This will be the last time I'l take you there. Let's try to other countries I think?" They laughs. Continuing their conversation but I can't hear any now. Just my heart, coz it is shaking to hard.

What is this? I heard it wrong, right? I am just imagining this right? Am I still dreaming?
