When she finally regained her consciousness slowly, she realised that her hands and feet were both tied up. She struggled to free herself, but the knots were tight. Her struggling attracted the attention of her kidnapper, who came from behind her and held her by the shoulders before sitting her up. She finally caught a glimpse of the person,

“Boss?” as she uttered softly, to which he quickly replied, “Sorry…” in the same manner.

The moment was cut short when the mastermind behind her kidnapping walked over.

“What do you want from me?!” asked Wanfahmai angrily.

“What do I want from you? You are seriously asking me that?!”

She tried hard to recall the familiar face of the man who is looking menacingly at her, before it starts to click,

“Mr. Haton?! Just what do you want for me?!”

“! After you single-handedly ruined my whole life, you still dare to ask me what I want from you?!” as he slapped her hard across her face, causing the corner of her lips to bleed, before he continued, “I hate you so much! I hate you the core! But I figured that you still have some use to me… And that’s why you’re here… As a bait…”

Bait? Bait? Me a bait? For who? Can’t be my father… He doesn’t know… Not many people know… And the people who knows are the people I trust…

She could feel her cheeks burn from the after effect of the slap as she still tried to figure things out. It didn’t help that she was already tired as she kept trying to focus with the problem at hand. She shook it off and was about to say something when they were interrupted by a voice from afar,

“Where is she?!”

Mr Haton smirked as he said, “You, definitely have some use,” before he turned around to welcome the person that he had lured successfully using Wanfahmai.

“Finally! Now you are willing to have a talk with me… Arthit… I guess this means a lot to you…”

“You have no right to say that about her!” as Arthit shouted and wanting to run over to Wanfahmai but was held back by two muscly men.

“No right?! Do you even know what she did?! Do you realise she’s the one that cause the fall out between your father and me?! We’ve been friends for so long…. And here comes this ruining my whole life! Ruined my family! And you say I have no right? Because of her, your father no longer wants to help me!”

“You are the one who does business the wrong way! You broke the rules! Why are you blaming it on other people?! If you had run the business properly none of this would have happened!”

“Do you know what I have to do, to be where I am?! Do you know what I have to sacrifice to gain what I have?! And who is this to be ruining all of that for me?! She should have just shut up and mind her own business!” screamed Mr Haton before he turned to face Wanfahmai, grabbed her by the neck and slapped her after every word he uttered,

“You!” *slap* “Should!” *slap* “Have!” *slap* “Just!” *slap* “Shut!” *slap* “Up!”

Arthit shouted for him to stop but it did not help to prevent Mr Haton from unleashing his anger on Wanfahmai. He wanted to run towards her yet again but this time he was held back by even more men. He struggled to be released from their grip but since he had just undergone a major surgery recently, he was quickly exhausted. The sight of seeing Wanfahmai being slapped by Mr. Haton hurt him. He was lost, he was angry, he was sad and he felt hopeless. However, Wanfahmai being the person that she was, simply look deep into Mr Haton’s eyes as she uttered the following words, “You’re clutching at straws. And this is your last resort, pathetic!” before she spits on his face. He was about to slap her again when she screamed, “You only care about yourself and your family! What about these men and their family?! What about the innocent people who you have hurt?! They all have family, you digusting piece of ! Stop threatening these men by using their families! Start using your brain to think you, dickhead!” as she gathered her strength, balled up her body and pushed him over, causing him to fall. During the sudden commotion, Arthit who saw what she was doing, uses every bit of his strength within his body and yanked his arms hard from the men’s grip who were distracted from what they were looking at. He ran over to Wanfahmai and held her tightly, using his body as a shield. Mr Haton who was now furious began to shout at the men he had hired,

“DO SOMETHING?!”

But the men were now starting to hesitate as the Boss did not give them any cue.

“WHY AREN’T ANY OF YOU DOING ANYTHING?! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!”

Arthit took the opportunity to untie the rope that was restraining Wanfahmai’s movement before holding her close to protect her amidst the high tension that was brewing between Mr Haton and the gang. She looked towards the Boss with pleading eyes, to which the Boss simply nodded his head once as a reply. Upon seeing his reaction, Wanfahmai quickly said, “Let’s go, P’Arthit… Run…”

Mr Haton who tried to chase after them, was now held back by the gang as they made him unconscious with one hit on the back of his neck before tying him up. Arthit took the driver seat and started driving immediately.

“I’m going to take you to the police station…”

“No.”

“What?! Why?!”

“It will get the men in trouble…”

“They kidnapped you! Why do you even care if they got into trouble?!”

“They were ordered and threatened!”

“But they still did it!”

“Let me remind you P’Arthit… If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have gotten out of there alive! And it’s not the first time that the Boss have saved my life.”

Arthit took a deep breath before he spoke, “Then where do you want to go now?”

“I want to go to my dad’s…”

While they were in the car, Wanfahmai sent a quick text message to the Boss to tell them that no police report will be made against them, but she requested for them to drop Mr Haton near a central police station. She then informed her father that she was on the way to his house, while Arthit drove as quickly as he could to the destination. When she finally reached, her father was shocked to see the condition of his daughter’s face.
