Chapter 2
Rhythm InsideYena has been bugging me since this morning, asking me when will I exactly meet my fiancée, “C’mon, dude,” she says as she hugs my left arm, “We won’t go there and bug you, I swear.”
I looked at her duck face, “I don’t know, okay?”
Yena pouted at me, “But if you met her before our beach escapade,” she gave me a smirk, “You’ll bring her with you.” And because I want her to shut the hell up, I agreed giving her a nod.
“Hey, guys!” I looked at Chaewon who’s running her way towards our table, “Have you seen Hyewon?” she took a seat on my right before drinking on my soda.
I shake my head, “I thought you’re with her.”
“We were, but Prof. Park called me.”
“Did you do anything stupid for you to be called by our dean?” Yena asked earning a smack on her head from Chaewon.
“Prof talked to me about the mini-concert next term,” she explains, “And he wants us to perform there.” I looked at her before shaking my head.
“You know I already stopped dancing.” She then looked at me with pleading eyes, “That won’t work, Chaewon.”
“Please, Chaeyeon?” She clasped her hands in front of her, “Last favor? We’ll be graduating this year, so we better make the most of it, right?”
Sighing, “I'll think about it.”
“Kim Chaewon!”
We all looked at the person who shouted Chaewon’s name which is Hyewon. She’s half-walking and half-running towards us. As she reached our table, she immediately smacks Chaewon’s head earning a groan from the former.
“Who told you I will sing at the mini-concert?” Hyewon asked, annoyed. She looks like she’s ready to slit Chaewon’s neck, “I hate singing in front of many people!”
“I actually don’t have any choice, Kang,” Chaewon explains, telling Hyewon that the performers were already decided, “Don’t worry, we’re all gonna perform.” She says before looking at me with a grin.
“I told you I will think about it.”
“You actually got no choice, Lee.” She puts her arm around my shoulder, “Prof. Park already listed you on the final list but don’t worry, you’ll perform with Yena and the dance crew.”
Yena happily looked at me, “We’ll be dancing together again, Chaeyeon!” she took a bite from her sandwich, “Isn’t that great?” she asked as she wiggles her eyebrows.
it, I’m doomed.
I’m on my way home when I received a message from my father, telling me not to go home and go straight to my uncle’s restaurant. Well, I honestly don’t feel good about this. Dad won’t just message me out of nowhere just because he wants to have dinner. He’s not like that, never in my 22 years of living.
When I reached the said place, I immediately saw my parents seated at the VIP area, far from the other costumers. My mom saw me and signaled me to walk faster. As I reached their place, I quickly peck on my mom’s cheek before sitting beside her.
She looked at me as she fixes my hair, “You’ll be meeting your fiancée now.” She says that shocked the hell out of me.
Looking at her with my not-so wide eyes, “What?” Why the hell they didn’t tell me first hand? it, I’m not prepared and I didn’t agree yet! “Mom, are you serious? I didn’t accept the proposal yet.”
“You have no choice, Chaeyeon.” My dad’s cold voice interrupted my conversation with my mom, “Whether you like it or not, you’ll get married.”
I know that but not telling me beforehand that I’m meeting my fiancée really shocked me. I mean, I’m not in my finest look as of now, coming straight from school and looking a bit haggard. I have my pride, you know.
“Don’t worry, you look
