Mino didn’t know how, or why, but he woke up the next day in a bed he doesn’t recognize. Someone is dribbling a ball close to him, and he tried to open his eyes to where the sound is coming from. 

A tattooed arm, holding an orange weapon of morning destruction sat at the edge of the bed looking at him.

“You’re in my bed.” Jaewon, he suddenly recognized, told him as their eyes met.

Mino grunted. He was not supposed to stay in Jisoo’s house, but Tablo brought out Japanese whiskey and they finished three bottles. He was not planning on getting drunk, because he really thought of going home, but Jisoo intimidated him by downing the whiskey effortlessly.

“Sorry, Hyunbin.” He regretted the name that left his mouth as soon as he said it. His brain is still in a haze. He spent the last night teasing Jisoo by calling her Haru the entire time they were drinking. Of course, Jisoo couldn’t retaliate because her own father is calling her the same damn name.

But Jaewon, Hyunbin, just started laughing. “Man, welcome to our family!”

He didn’t want to know what he meant, but he knows he needed coffee. Mino tried to stand up, but he slumped back down to the bed. “, no.”

Jisoo’s twin brother stood up and handed him a pill and a glass of water.

“My evil twin asked me to give this to you.”

He took the pill and drank the water, hoping for the pain to go away.

“Is she up already?”

“Bright and early, stranger.” He answered him.

Then it occurred to him, he has not officially introduced himself to Jaewon. “Song Mino.”

His hand shook his, “Jaewon, as you already know.”

Mino attempted to stand again, and this time he felt better. He checked the time, it’s still 7AM, and he really wants to go home and sleep in his own bed.

“Sorry for sleeping in your bed, man. Your father and sister sure can hold their alcohol.” He told Jaewon as he found his balance standing up.

“You’re lucky my mom did not join you. She’s our tequila champ.” He snorted at him.

“You have drinking contests with your parents?” Mino suddenly felt envious of the family dynamics they have.

“Since we turned 19. It helped a lot with...some stuff.” He suddenly turned his back on him, and Mino felt like he intruded a private matter.

“So basically, after you changed your names?” He tried to make it sound light.

Jaewon just smiled at him. “Dad told me you’re Tagoon. Jisoo basically loves you, man.”

“I think she’s moved on from that already.” He really meant it. She probably felt disappointed to know it was just him.

“I don’t know, Mino. She sounded pretty excited telling me about it when I got here. That’s the reason why I shut myself inside my room that’s already been occupied.”

Mino didn’t know how to react to what he just said. “Well, I should step out now. Nice meeting you, Hyunbin.”

They shared a laugh as Jaewon called out to him. “Same to you, Tagoon.”

Jisoo ran to the kitchen as soon as she heard Mino’s voice. She was supposed to wait for him to wake up, because Jaewon came with Jennie.

And just as she suspected, Jennie stood shocked behind the kitchen counter as Mino mirrored her reaction.

She cleared to get their attention. “Oh, good, you’re awake! You got pretty hammered last night, Mino. Are you ready to drive back home now?” 

Mino frowned at her. “Can I at least get some coffee, Sooyah? Damn, you were such a drinker.”

Jennie cleared , probably to get their attention too. She was mixing up a pancake batter, but she remained frozen at the sight of them.

“I didn’t know you’re here, Mino.” She finally managed to say something.

“It was a last minute thing. It wasn’t planned. Sooyah couldn’t get a train here, so I drove her here. But only because I was with her yesterday morning at an art gallery, so yeah, we drove here. And then I got invited for dinner, and then I got drunk, and slept in Jaewon’s room. Alone.” Mino rambled on.

Jisoo couldn’t help but laugh at his rapidfire explanation, only to not let Jennie think they were a couple or something. 

“Don’t worry, Mino. Jennie knows we’re just friends.”

She looked at Jennie, and she was smiling at her as she continued to mix the pancake batter. Her smile did not sit well with Jisoo, especially with what she suddenly said.

“Really? I’m actually not quite sure.”

Mino stilled his hand on the coffee cup Jisoo gave him and rolled his shoulders as if he didn’t hear what Jennie said.

Words betrayed Jisoo once again as she couldn’t think of anything to say to her friend. Luckily, and maybe because of their twin instinct, Jaewon appeared next to Jennie.

“How long are you going to mix that, Jen? I’m starviiiiiiing.” Her brother whined.

Jisoo then turned her attention to Mino, but he was already looking at her. She found herself clearing again. “So, you’re driving after coffee?” 

“Are you throwing me out of your house, Sooyah? After taking advantage of my alcohol tolerance last night and forcing me to sleep with you under the same roof?” He was teasing her, but Jisoo still couldn’t help but warm up from what he just said to her. 

Because maybe, he was right. She wanted him to stay the night and drink with her and her dad, just to avoid her dad’s interrogation.

“Well, weren’t you itching to leave yesterday? I just thought you wanted to leave first thing in the morning.”

Mino emptied his coffee and nodded. “Well, you’re right. Where are your parents? I’ll head out now.”

“You’re not staying for lunch?” Jennie asked him, as Jaewon was busy flipping pancakes.

“I don’t want to intrude a family gathering.” He simply said, making Jisoo realize that Mino insisted he doesn’t like being reminded of his past. Something her father triggered right from the moment they saw each other.

“Are you sure you’re in good condition to drive?” The question just came out of her lips. Somehow, she wanted to be sure that Mino will be okay.

Jaewon turned to them, as did Jennie, and Jisoo found herself choking in her own breath. Mino noticed the sudden change of mood inside the kitchen, but before he starts to ask what’s happening, Jisoo grabbed his hand.

“My parents are outside. Let’s go.”

Mino frowned at her, but let her lead the way as he said quick goodbyes to Jennie and Jaewon.

It was awkward.

And Jiyong hates it.

He sat across Dara as they ate their waffles paired with bacon. It has always been Dara’s favorite breakfast, which is why he chose to prepare it, but her silence is eating him up.

“Any plans tonight, Dee?” He can’t help the silence anymore.

She almost dropped her fork and reached for her coffee, took a sip, winced because she forgot to add sugar in it, and answered him while avoiding his eyes. “No. Nothing. No plans.”
