As cliché as it sounded, he headed to the rooftop for some alone time. He liked his minions but they get annoying after some time. And plus they were too loud. Yesterday he had fallen asleep on his chair while waiting for Ari to wake up and that was bugging him for some reason.

He blushes a little thinking how he had actually woke up in bed. Did Ari carry him? That was quite possible, considering how wild the girl was.

He gives a small shudder over how unmanly that was and how weak he must have seemed.  But then he composes himself and straightens out his back. That definitely does not mean he was any less of a man.

He let out a sigh and looked around the rooftop to look for an outlet for his inner turmoil. Yesterday had been an emotional ride and that was not something he liked very much.

His eyes caught an unlucky fellow who had been nipping on his lunch way up here, away from the hungry wolves. Unfortunately the alpha wolf found its way to where the rabbit was.

Kai smiled, knowing he was going to have a good time with this little fellow here.

“Howdy,” He laughs a little as he jogs up to where the fellow was. He puts his arms around the shorter male’s shoulders and gives him a harsh pull, making the little fellow’s glasses nearly fall down.

This guy was a nerd and he was really quiet. And this sort of made Kai liked him. The fact that he was always treated like dirt made Kai like him even more.

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
