"Hello Jongin," Junmyeon's fiancé gave him a huge smile the moment he came back.

He winced as he recalled that today they were supposed to be dinning with his to be sister-in-law and also their in-laws.

"I'm-I am really sorry." Kai gives a stiff bow to the two families that sat in the living room, probably discussing after their meal.

It was already evening. He had dinner at Ari's where Lydia had talked and talked and talked. Thankfully for some reason, the elders had decided to eat out so the three of them had some ramens from the local convenient store much to the horror of Lydia but she survived and the other two couldn't care less.

But anyhow, in the span of 4 hours or more he had leant about the entire life of Lydia the great and the lives of Lydia's parents and also her grandparents. But the time she decided to tell them about her great grandparents, Ari had made a gesture for Kai to escape while she divert the course of Lydia's concentration.

Kai had been thankful. It was not like he did not like Lydia... it's just that she talked too much and that she was still a child at heart despite being only a year younger than them.

"That is okay," Sister-in-law's father speaks, bringing him back to the present. "I understand if you got carried away."

"Yes," The mother now speaks, "besides it is late already. We better head home already."

"I am dearly sorry for my son's behaviour." Kai's father now speaks, bowing

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
