Kai’s mouth dropped at the sight before him.

“Jongin,” His brother suddenly hissed by his side. “Close. Your. Mouth.”

Jongin blinked to register that. He shut his mouth at once and worriedly threw a glance at this brother who was looking at him with a very strained smile.

“Are you sure that is Ari?” Jongin asks, almost pointing at the girl who had just walked in, her hands curled around a middle aged man.

“Yes. That is her step-father and her mother is behind them.” Junmyeon whispers to him while going ahead to welcome them. Kai, however stayed back and just watched, making sure that his mouth was sealed.

She was in a very slinky black dress, not revealing but y enough because it hugged every of her curve perfectly. She had her long hair curled and swept to one side of her shoulder and her lips were bright red. Her fingernails were impeccably done and her shoes where high enough for her to almost reach Junmyeon’s height.

The man besides her, her step-father was a very handsome man. He recognised him from the newspapers as the head of his father's rival firm.

His eyes went to the mother next and was surprised to see that they looked very much alike, with make up that is. She was wearing a white dress, probably a little too young for her but she had a great body and he did not really care.

From the looks of it, Jongin could just guess that Ari did not have a good relationship with her mother. He wondered why.

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
