Kai heaves a sigh.

Lydia had surprised him again, coming over to his house as a matter of factly, pissing him off a little. That... that was not how one visits another. In case of Ari... That's a little different, right? But then it shouldn't be a big surprise considering Lydia was a relative of Ari's who also looks up to Ari like she was some sort of star.

Speaking of Ari, she did not come along and that was the reason why he was sulking around as Lydia pranced around the house.

"I think Ari's house is bigger than yours." Lydia says, ending her tour by plopping down the couch in their living room. "But your's still big."

Kai grunted in reply, not really wanting to say anything.

He hated these kinds of things. Why can't everybody be just like Ari and stop talking when he doesn't want to talk and just sit there being busy, but still there when he finally wants to talk?

"Where's Ari?" He finally asks the burning question.

Lydia's eyes widen a little, almost surprised at his question than a look of suspecious contemplating followed, which was replaced by some sort of sad, regretful look.

"She... She's in the hospital again." Lydia spoke quietly, surprising Kai with her volume as well as her answer.

"Hospital?" Just last week when he visited, Ari was totally fine.

Lydia squints her eyes and look at Kai as though judging him.

"You really don't know anything about Ari, don't you? And you call

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
