"Jongin," Kai could not remember the last time someone had called him by that name.
His father called him a disappointment and his brother called him a bastard. It was strange to hear his name being called out.
"Jongin..." It was a very soft voice, almost like a whisper. Maybe it was his mother's... He couldn't be sure becuase he had already forgotten. But it was a voice that sounded like home, a voice he knew well.
A hand caressed his face and he thought he cannot be anymore safe. A soft hand, a similar smell and a homely feel. It was like a trip back to his happy days.
If only he could go back.
If only his mother did not die.
If only it was his father and not his mother who died. His life would have been different then, would it not?
Maybe he was crying because the hand stork his face as if to wipe off his tears and a soft hush is heard.
"It's okay, Jongin... Everything will be okay."
Kai knew, he knew very well how everything was NOT okay but for some reason he leaned towards that voice and believed in it.
Maybe she said it with such conviction that he felt it was going to be okay or maybe... He just wanted to believe that someday things will get really, finally better.
I want to start on another fiction. Help!
