“My engagement party is going to be this weekend. Ari is coming. Better get ready for it as well.” His brother reminds him dryly the next morning as he went to grab breakfast before going to class.

Kai simply grunted. There was nothing else he hated more than dinner, ties and formal parties.

Looking up from his papers, Junmyeon gives him a hard stare.

Jongin felt annoyed at that but continued preparing his cereals.

“What?” He finally complains when Junmyeon just refused to look away, milk dripping from his lips.

“Are you really planning to leave?” He asks.

“Yeah. I can’t stand being here.” He replies as he took another spoonful of cereals.

His brother only sighs and tossed the paper he was reading into the table.

“I can relate but you know that within the perimeters of Korea, father has enough power to destroy whatever you do.”

Kai grunts at that. He has not thought much about it really. He just assumed it was going to be cool once he walks out of this house. Besides he was going to be graduating some weeks from now.

“Go to college, that’ll be the best option for you. Pretend you are interested in father’s deal and live in a dorm. Meanwhile you have to know what you are good at. You simply know how to laze around. That is not going to get you anywhere.”

Kai gives a huge pout at the cereal bowl. What the hell? Now he had to know something?

“I don’t know how to do anything.”

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
