"Pain?" Kai scoffed. "What do you know about pain, Ari... hmm?"

He tapped his feet against the cold, tiled floor of the hospital. Ari was laying there, eyes tired and her lips in a frown. The hospital had managed to pump out the poison in time but the poison had done some damage.

Kai had visited her and upon asking why she had done that she had just sighed and said that she was in pain. It honestly miffed Kai. Why does she know about pain? Really.

"You have your mom and your dad. I'm sorry they are apart but you still have them. Heck you even have a step father who loves you very much." He tells her, trying to force her to see how much of a privilege she was as a human.

Ari still had her eyes closed making it hard to know what she was thinking. Then she sighed but said nothing.

"You don't even have a brother who's annoying." Kai mutters, trying hard to add to his argument.

Finally, she opens her eyes and blinks slowly then turns her head to face him. Kai was not sure why he felt so sad to see her so... lifeless.

"Jongin..." Her voice croaked a little and he shuffled in his seat to get her water. She gulps down a mouthful and nods her head a little at Kai indicating that she did not need anymore water.

"Jongin..." She called his name again making his heart throb slightly. She then turned her head to the television box that was placed right in front of her. "Everyone has to face their own share of troubles.".

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
