Scolding is always inevitable, especially if you play hooky, whether intentional or not.

Kai returns to his room sulkily just a little thankful that there are no more beatings.

Junmyeon comes a little later, a frown decorating his face. Kai decided to give him a huge groan.

"Shut up," Junmyeon greeted. "I told you to return after an hour. What on earth, man? I even called you. This isn't the way we portray our family to others!"

Kai sighs quietly at that.

"Don't... Don't do this again, Jongin." He says, finally giving him a proper look. His older brother suddenly seemed a lot more aged than he had been some few days back and that took him by surprise.

"I need someone who understands..." His older brother continues, making the guilt in him grow more. "It has been though, so though and I don't want my unhappiness to show. It is hard to act all fine and mighty all the time. So next time, please do not leave me to suffer all alone."

With those words he walks out not even waiting for the apology that Kai had been preparing mentally.

Junmyeon had come to him just yesterday, telling him about how he did not wish to hurt the poor fiancé of his. If he had to act, he will...

A part of him was awed at how amazing his older brother was, but a very bitter part of him scoffed at that. Junmyeon had spent most of his life making his life miserable, why was he even planning to act to make some stranger life's better?

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
