“I cannot believe what my brother told me,” Kai looked close to exploding as he sat down heavily on the floor.

“What did he say?” Ari said casually, tossing her hair behind her so that it would not interfere with her ramen.

“He said that father was seeing a woman! UGH! That is why he was acting so lovey-dovey even with us. UGH!”

At that moment, the worker walked passed them with an annoyed face, shaking his head. He had already  gave up in trying making them sit on a chair like what normal people do but he guessed not.

Ari gives a giggle at that.

“Don’t be a baby Kai,” She looks over at him with that Junmyeon’s I know everything look, her lips turning up in a smirk like she was proud that she found out something that he was trying to hide so well.

“Oh god,” Kai says and face palms himself. “Now you are not going to let me live, are you?”

“Nope!” Ari says, taking out her chopsticks and rubbing them together. "Kai is such a great name. You should have told me earlier about this alias of yours."

“Anyhow,” she continues as she stirred her steaming noodles, “Aren’t you glad that your family had gotten so much better within this short period of time? I’m sure your father needed someone to share his problems with.”

Kai sighs at that and looks at his ramen. Maybe.

“But just because he is treating us better now doesn’t eradicate the fact that he beats us up all the time. It is going to be hard to trust

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
