He regrets it, the fact that he ran away as soon as he saw her in that little rice-cake stall.

But what was he suppose to do? Stay there and let the world see him being smothered by a girl? Heck no! Besides there was this intimacy between them that he really did not want anyone to know about.

And to be honest, Ari scares him a little.

“Will you give it a rest? You’ve been pacing up and down the entire evening.” An annoyed voice grunted upstairs. It was his snobbish brother.

“If you are going to be pensive, go to your room. Why pace around near the door? What. Are you waiting for dad to turn up and be all fatherly to you? You know that only happens in fairy tales. So stop being such a spoilt little child and go to your room.”

Kai smiled a little. His brother was trying too hard.

“I feel sorry for your girlfriend. She has a jerk for a boyfriend.” He felt satisfaction course through him at the look his brother gave him. He loved the fact that he had found out his brother’s weakness- the only place he can poke where pain could be inflicted.

His older brother turned around followed by a loud slam of his door. Kai chuckled loudly to tick him off even further. This brotherly love they shared was just too precious.

But after a moment he remembers why he had been standing near the door for about three hours.

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
