"I am thinking of going to Japan." Ari gave a sigh while ruffling her hair. She looked exhausted as she laid in his bed, hands and feet all over the bed.

"Ja-Japan?" Then he wouldn't see her again, would he? "Why?"

Ari sits up and looks at him. Her eyes shifted from him to her terrible painting behind him. She gives a little smile at that.

"My mom..." She begins, but stops and sighs. Perhaps she was finding it hard to open up for first time.  "My mom is not the best mother out there."

Kai unconsciously moved forward in his seat. This probably was the first time Ari ever said anything about her family.

"My dad is in Japan and although he is a little cuckoo, it's better with him than with mom." Ari was looking down as she told him that as though she was ashamed.

"You know, you can stay with me." He blurted out and a second later realised what he said and felt his face heat up. "I-I mean you said you will help me move out. May-maybe you can also move out. We could be neighbours or stuff like that..." Kai mumbled the last part and continued to glare at his hands.

"Oh..." Ari says making Kai peek at her. "That still remains. But aren't you happier than before? You don't really mind staying here anymore right?" She tilted her head in question.

"Ehh..." Kai sat down more comfortably and stretched out his arms. "... Kinda but I wouldn't mind moving out either. Dad is bringing his girlfriend every now and then. I don'

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
