"Death stick."

That was Ari. He knew without looking.

He was smoking again, this time alone in the place where he had left that irritating girl before.

But for some reason, although his heart was jumping he refused to look at her direction. What on earth was she doing here? How on earth does she know of this place?

"I'm surprise to see you here." She voiced out his thoughts. Unlike the previous days, she did not jump on him to give him a hug. Rather she stood some distance away, as though she did not want to scare him off. Maybe that was the case since the last time they met outside, he literally took off.

He finally turn to look at her, his curiosity winning. She looked different, in fact so different that he coughed. He had forgotten how to smoke. If he had not known her voice maybe he would not have known it was her.

A good minute later, he was still coughing and Ari was petting his back and laughing her heart out.

"I did not mean to scare you. Do I look that scary?"

Kai wiped the tears that had escaped, with his sleeves and took a deep breath. This was a different side of her, a side which he could never even imagine.

"What are you doing here?" He asks, his eyes squinted a little in suspicion.

"I'm exploring!" She replies, her eyes brighter than ever. "I haven't been able to come to this side before so it is actually exciting. No one lives in this area. But you'll be surprise to hear that o

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
