Ari was talking to his brother when he came home that day.

What was his brother doing home at this hour?

“Hey Jongin,” They chorused together, looked at each other and burst into laughter. They laughed as though they knew each other for a long time, that they were good friends.

Something inside him snaps as he watched that scene. Was his brother taking away the only thing he cherishes in life? The only thing he was holding to! Was he going to take Ari away?

He just stood there, standing in the doorway, confused and uneasy at what he should do.

But as though she had known what had gone through his mind, her smile falters and she comes over, gives him one of the warmest hugs he had ever received and led him upstairs.

Her hug seemed to say that she will never leave him alone but his heart, now very uneasy refused to calm down. He sat on his bed, his back facing her.

“I ran into your brother while I was sneaking food from the kitchen,” She says, her voice guilty. He wanted to smile because that was so very Ari but he couldn't. “I mean he freaked out, thought I was a burglar or something so I told him that I was a friend of yours.”

She paused, waiting for him to speak but his heart was still racing and he did not know what he should say.

“I know you don’t like your brother. I just… He was nice.”

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
