She had nothing on her and that annoyed Kai much more than that pesky rat of a girl. He was not having fun trying to search her pockets for a phone or anything but his excruciating 10 minutes yielded to nothing.

Why could he not just shake her awake and ask her then? Trust him when he says that he had thought about that for a straight fifteen minutes now.

Why on earth is a girl roaming about without a phone in this age? What is she, a time traveler? He would actually believe her if she says so.

But then he gives up, sighs and steps back to simply stare at the girl who was still sleeping soundly in his bed. She was pretty even when she sleeps.

He looked at her for a very long time, recalling all the memories of them playing together and suddenly he’s overcome with emotions and he had to leave for the bathroom.

Ari’s presence was somehow like a dangerous drug and also like the anti-dote as well. One moment he feels everything is alright and the next moment he feels as though he is drowning. And to be honest he hated that.

All these years, he had tried so hard to bury his feelings and to forget everything about his mother, about his situation and somehow all those years of hard work are undone by Ari who hopes in with her bright smile and her bright eyes, living her bright life without any worries.

Chapter 66: I finished this in one go. And I'm thinking what to comment, actually reading this makes me think hard. About Ari, about Kai and all life stuff. lol. anyway, this hurts knowing if only Kai reached out to her, by then this won't end like this. But then again, its in human nature so I understand Kai. He is selfish to only think of his own problems but he is already drowning in his own demons to see that others are suffering as well. But I'm happy everything turns out well for him in the end. And I also salute Ari, she fight long enough though she decided to give up and rest in the end. She is brave enough to at least help and be there for Kai even if she is also drowning in her own demons.

Thank you for this one and I hope you are okay now. If in any case you need someone just to listen to you and has no one else, you can PM me. Cheers for more great work Ms. Author 💙

Chapter 66: This hurts

But I'm grateful for your final message. Life is precious, no matter how difficult at the time. I didn't end up as Ari but I did have a time like her. It's hard not to drown in our own pain and miss that of others. I feel reminded to see beyond myself.

I hope you (and fellow readers) always take care <3
