Change

Slurring awake to the rhythm of your husband’s gentle snoring your stiff body stretched as bare feet prodded across cold tiles for the bathroom, the cold morning air dotting goose bumps on exposed skin. Two toothbrushes hung next to one another in their toothbrush holders, Daehyun’s attention to detail bought a comfortable ambience to this not too familiar home. Rubbing a small dollop of your regular oatmeal cleanser into the palm of your hands before standing it next to Yongguk’s charcoal facewash, soft fingers gently massaged your skin as memories of last night flushed your mind.

The palms on his chest as kisses turned sweet and gentle. The loss of his heat and ghost of emptiness brushing past your skin with a shiver. Gazing into his deep warm eyes, sitting together in a comfortable silence. Loving fingers combing your hair as you admired every aspect of him. Those long straight eye lashes. Beauty marks adorning his face, his thick lips slightly swollen all because of you.  His voice slightly hoarse as he suggested to retire for the night.

Did you rub your cheeks to much or was it really a blush? You rinsed the thoughts away altogether with the foamy lather off your face before fixing your hair into a tidy bun. Your stomach rumbled underneath you, reminding you to make a breakfast for two.

Oil pooled in the hot frypan as you cracked an egg one at a time. Bacon sizzled to crisp and hash brown potatoes turned golden alongside tomato wedges and button mushrooms hot on the grill. Yongguk strode out, black locks sticking out in odd directions and face slightly swollen looking ethereal as an angel in the early dawn light bathing him in his while pinstripe pyjamas making his golden skin glow. Yongguk stopped in his tracks, the devastating warmth of his eyes all directed at you. “I could die happy waking up to this view everyday” he sighed, his morning voice so raw and deep reverberated somewhere you didn’t recognise before.

“Good morning handsome” you smiled, not minding the loose wavy lock falling out of your bun.

Thick lips spread into a small smile as he moved towards the kitchen. “Good morning beautiful” his deep morning voice rumbled before a gentle kiss was pressed to your cheek. Minty and fresh, good boy brushed his teeth.

“Yongguk, be a darling and put the toaster on for me will you?”

A soft laugh followed as he loaded the toaster was . “I thought I was cheesy, you’re on a totally different level” he smiled, resting his hip on the counter.

“I learnt from the best” you answer quietly.

“Are you speaking of Himchan?” Yongguk gently turned you to face him, a small smile playing at his lips and onyx eyes warm as ever.

“I meant you” you bop him on the nose with your finger and stifle a giggle before pulling back to the stove. Plating humble breakfast of colour with finesse, the meal contrasting beautifully against the white quality crockery made you smile. A diligent husband setting the table made life so much easier as you carried two perfect plates of breakfast over to the dining table. Yongguk’s poorly masked surprise at the taste of you first proper meal and the guttural moan escaping as he bit down on the perfectly grilled mushrooms filled your chest with pride. Breakfast was rather quiet as moans of pleasure and compliments were thrown at you. You couldn’t help the smile on your face, cooking is tiring but if it made you see him so content, the tiredness was worth it.

“Were you able to sleep last night?” He asked as he cleared the dishes. His fresh unique scent wafting past as he moved towards the kitchen.

“The alcohol helped me sleep, it felt little odd but it was alright. Were you able to sleep well?”

“Sleeping next to such an eager kisser was hard, but hey, I can deal with that” he smiled. “Next time I want to say something, I’ll say it to you in my senses. You deserve me at my best, love.”

“I’m supposed to deal with you at your worst too.” A blush crept onto your cheeks as you listened to what he said, however you avoided the topic smoothly. “Can you pick just one pet name please?” you sighed. The term of endearment was surprising but welcome. Grabbing the liquid honey bottle you moved onto the couch, turning the TV on. Time to start your favourite mask. Gentle fingers massaged honey onto your face, nourishment of honey reaching every pore on your face and soon you felt the thick sticky honey barely present on your face. Just five more minutes of this on and I can wash this off.

“What’s that?”

“Honey. It’s great for your skin.”

“I bet it’s just sugar”

“Sugar isn’t this smooth Yongguk”

Mischief sparked in Yongguk’s eyes as he pecked you on the cheek hard. Catching you off guard you turned to glare at him as the cheeky man his plush with a delicious hum. “You’re right, sugar isn’t that sweet”

“Ofcourse it’s not it’s hon-”

Your words were cut off as Yongguk crashed his lips onto yours for a gentle kiss you didn’t return. “No. Even honey isn’t as sweet as the taste of you” his warm eyes met yours. Openly cringing at his cheesiness made Yongguk laugh openheartedly. You barely took in the sight of his of his pearly whites and gums out free when he flashed a gummy smile at you, holding back his laugh.

“You’re crazy” you laughed.

“I’m out of my mind” he followed. “You just noticed?”

“Then get back into it, I’m going to wash my face” you got up from the sofa but stopped as Yongguk grabbed your hand.

“I’m back in my senses” Yongguk deadpanned

“Already?”

As if on autopilot the man bobbed his head pulling you back down on the couch. You regret obliging as he crawled over you “My senses tell me to save the planet” and you read his mind on cue.

“Oh ” you giggled as Yongguk leant down peppering kisses all over your face. This guy is crazy but he’s crazy for you. Lips leaving a wet trails on our face as stubble scratched at your skin. Unadulterated laughter bounced off the apartment walls as you tried to wriggle free while your husband tortured you with his dorky affection. Yongguk stopped in his tracks as you two laughed together. A hand on his nape you pulled him close and sealed his lips in a kiss, wide in your senses and lost in happiness. Yongguk kissed you back, both of you smiling in the kiss before he pulled away. “That’s it, I’m calling you honey from now on”

“As you wish, darling” you giggled.
