Chapter 34
Watching Over You [repost]
Chapter 34
HYUNAE
“This one was when he’s still a trainee at SM. I guess.” Eomeoni said as she pointed out the picture on the right side of the 3rd page of the book.
Donghae was wearing the usual sweatshirt and baggy pants that was in style during that period. “He looks a lot better today neh?” she added and laughed.
I looked at Donghae and from the looks of it, he’s quite embarrassed by what his mom has been saying for a while now.
Yeah. His mom is right at that note. Not that he’s ugly at that picture, it’s just that it’s better now.
So I guess, today is the day to get to know MORE about Donghae. More than what the internet and Donghae personally, can share.
His mom kept on telling stories about Donghae as a kid which made him bury his face at my back and the backrest of the couch.
“Umma…” he groaned as his mom was telling the story behind his first crush.
“What? You want me to stop?” his mom asked. But even if Donghae answered ‘yes’, I doubt it that his mom would stop.
Donghae was holding my hand the whole time. I tried to let go from it but he locked his fingers into mine. And it felt good having his not-so-long fingers with mine.
“UMMA! AREN’T YOU HUNGRY???” Donghae suddenly asked in a loud manner when his mom was about to tell me about his first day in class.
But his mom didn’t mind him and just continued on. She showed me an old ID picture of Donghae.
“Isn’t he adorable? I wish he stayed that way.” Eomeoni commented which made me laugh so hard and made Donghae react violently.
“Umma. Are you saying that I’m no longer adorable? But you said earlier that I’m better today than when I was still a trainee.”
“Well, that was different picture my son.” She said and continued showing me some of Donghae’s pictures.
“Hey, I found you cute at that picture too.” I whispered to him as I felt his chin on my shoulder. I was trying to keep my attention to his mom, not him. But he’s such a…
“Really?” he asked for assurance and I slightly nodded which made him smile like a teenage boy again.
“Yeah. Maybe you should have that hairstyle again.” I suggested.
“Maybe. Don’t you like my hair now?” he asked and fixed his hair. “CRAP!”
His mom suddenly looked at him and asked why he shouted.
Donghae pouted a bit and took off his headband.
His mom laughed.
“You didn’t notice that you’re still wearing that headband and ponytails?”
Donghae tried to take off the thin elastics, but instead of loosening it up, he’s doing the opposite. He’s groaning from the pain of pulling his hair so I decided to help him with it.
He faced me and ducked his head across my lap so I don’t have to stand up to remove the two elastics.
It took me about a minute to take those off him and when I was fixing his hair back, I heard a click. Camera.
That brought us back to our senses. Donghae straightened up.
I was about to say something when I realized that I was Donghae’s mom who was taking our picture.
“UMMA!”
“What?” his mom asked as she continued taking about 2 more shots in her digicam. “I can add it up to this photo album.”
I felt my face heat up from what was happening.
“C’mon kids. Let’s eat.” His mom suddenly said and stood up to go to the table.
Donghae and I are left in the couch.
“Hey… sorry about that…” he said and held both my hands. “She’s not really like that. Maybe she’s just ecstatic by the fact that she’s meeting someone that I’m currently with.” He added and took my hands to his lips. “You’re actually the first… and I’ve talked a lot about you when I came over in Mokpo yesterday…”
I’m… C’mon. We Got Married can make those arrangements anytime.I told myself, trying to console my thoughts.
“You’re actually the first one that my mom met… and I’ve talked a lot about you when I came over in Mokpo yesterday…” he added and scratched his head.
Eh? I’m the first???
“Kids, I’m waiting.” Eomeoni suddenly said.
“Aish umma. You’re ruining my moment.” Donghae hissed as he pulled me up and went to the table.
…what…?
