Chapter 17

HYUNAE’s POV

Today, I had to go to work even though I don’t want to. As much as I wanted to stay home and take care of that hard headed ‘husband’ of mine, I can’t and he won’t be staying home also.

I wanted to check him every hour but it seems that by doing that, it’ll be too much. Call it conscience or what but I felt that I was the one who caused Donghae to be sick.

“HyunAe-sshi.” One of my officemates on my second job called while I was having my usual break.

“Waeyo?” I asked holding a banana.

“Phonecall.” He said and showed the landline phone.

Who would be calling me at this hour? At 8pm?

“Yeobosaeyo?” i said as I answered the phone.

“HyunAe-sshi? It’s Leeteuk.”

“Oppa. Why do you call?” I suddenly have a bad feeling about this.

“Can you come over here at the studio?”

“Why oppa? I’m still at work.”

“Donghae... he… he’s pretty sick and he can’t go home.” He said.

Am I going to be a widow in such a young age? C’mon, we’re just married for about almost a month and now this?

I immediately asked the address of the studio and quickly grabbed my stuff.

“Ahjusshi, I’ll leave early okay? I have an emergency.” I told my boss and luckily, it was okay for him.

I hailed the first cab that crossed my way.

That was one of the longest 20-minute ride of my life.

When I got the company, they are all waiting for me at the lobby.

“I’ll drive you guys home.” Heechul oppa said before the boys took Donghae to his car and the rest followed.

Donghae, hard headed as usual, even took his car to work. AISH.

We placed Donghae at the backseat while I took the front passenger seat.

After another 15 minutes, we finally reached our house. Heechul oppa took Donghae up and in to my room.

“Oppa, are you going to spend the night here?” I asked as we fixed Donghae in bed.

“Nope. Jungsoo followed us here. They are just waiting outside for me.” Heechul oppa said and he walked to the door. Don’t let him go to work tomorrow okay? Just let him sleep and rest.” He reminded me and left.

“Thank you Oppa.”

I went to the kitchen to check if Donghae had the two glasses that I made earlier. Just as I expected, there are still two glasses. One and a half glasses full. I just shook my head in disappointment. Tsss…

I took the untouched glass of calamansi juice and on my way back to my room, I heard him sneeze for the 3^rd time since we got in.

“Hey.” I called up to him and he just looked at me with his watery eyes and red runny nose. “Drink this up first before sleeping.”

“Sorry…” he said as he pulled himself up to sit and lean back to the headboard.

“You’re such a kid Donghae. You didn’t listen to me earlier today and look what happened to you now.” I reprimanded him and handed over the juice. “Drink all of this before sleeping okay?”

“Okay…” he just said and got off the bed.

“Where are you going?” I asked as he slowly walked to my door.

“To my room…” he said before he sneezed again.

“Aish. Donghae you think I’m that heartless to let you let you sleep outside in that condition?”

He looked at me for a few seconds and he went back to my bed. “Where are you going to sleep?” he asked before drinking the juice and making a sour face after.

“At the couch.”

I can see in his face that he was really feeling sorry for doing this.

“Our couch is a sofa-bed right? I’ll be comfortable sleeping on it.” I assured him. “Finish the juice now okay?”

He hesitantly got the juice again and drink what’s left that was about ¾ of the glass.

“Done?”

He just nodded.

“Okay. Just call me if you need something okay?” I told him before leaving the room and leaving the door open so I can hear him.
