Chapter 10

I barely survived our first date. Good thing the night ended up nicely because of the pictures that I showed her. Heechul hyung’s old PS-ed pictures.

“What are you doing?” I asked her when I got home after a schedule and as she opened the door for me.

“Nothing, just surfing the net.” She answered casually and went back to her laptop.

With nothing unusual happening, I placed my bag at my storage area and pulled out some clothes that I can change into.

After doing so, I laid comfortably at my ‘bed’ which was right next to her.

“Chagi~…” I called and she just looked at me. Since I really want to rest now. Badly. “Could you continue surfing the net in your room?” I asked her.

“You know that the broadband signal is almost non-existent behind that wall.” She reminded me. “You know, you can use the room tonight. I can sleep here tonight since I’m still using the internet.”

“No.” I answered firmly. I won’t allow her to sleep outside. On floor. While I, on the other hand is sleeping on the bed. Snoring [maybe]. “I’ll just sleep here.” I told her and tucked myself in.

“Donghae…” she called and tried to wake me up but I didn’t budge. “I know you’re still not sleeping…”

I snored to trick her.

“That won’t work. You can’t be asleep when just a few seconds ago, you’re talking to me!”

I know she would insist of changing beds so I stoop my ground in pretending to be asleep.

“Aish.” I heard her exclaimed and the next thing I heard was the door slamming close.

I peeked through my blanket and the living room/my bedroom is now dark. I climbed up to the couch and lay comfortably before dozing off.

4days after…

“Good morning.” I greeted HyunAe when I saw her coming out of her room. As if she didn’t notice/hear me, she went back to her room. Maybe she’s still sleepy.

I just ate my breakfast. Cereals.

After eating, I took a quick bath. I was surprised when I got out of the bathroom. There is another used bowl at the sink. She ate?

I scanned the living room and she’s nowhere to be found. She went back to her room already?

I sat back at the couch and the TV. Time passed and yet she’s still not out of her room. What’s the problem?

I was about to check her out when my phone started ringing.

“Hyung~!!” Kibum yelled on the other line.

“Kibum-ah. Waeyo?” I asked immediately since this boy won’t call if nothing’s up.

“Have you seen the pictures?” he asked.

“What pictures?” I asked back.

“You and Ri In!”

“What pictures?” I asked again. What? Me and Ri In?

“What we saw was pictures of you guys holding hands and more cuddling!”

“Holding hands? Cuddling?” I tried to recall, but it seems that the water from the shower took away my memory.

“Aish! Febneicvbnfu-.” He said and the call ended.

What is he talking about? I asked myself.

“I’m going.” HyunAe suddenly said as she went out of her room and headed straight for the door.

“Where are you going?” I asked since I have/want/need to know if she’s safe of what.

“Just out. Don’t wait for me for dinner, I’ll be eating out with some friends.” She answered and left.

Maybe she’s really just busy with her stuff.

“Hey, is there anything wrong?” I asked her 2 days after that incident since she’s getting used to going home late. We haven’t seen each other in those two days and just to talk to her, I skipped training/practice.

“No-“ she was about to say but she stopped for some reason.

She just looked at the TV. It was the MV that filmed with Ri In.

“Nothing.” She finally said and went to the kitchen. I just followed her.

“Chagi…” I called her and she just looked at me. No, glared at me as if I’ve done something wrong again like not flushing the toilet.

We stayed silent for a couple more second before I noticed that she’s snatching glances of the TV.

Could it be…?

“Chagi~…. That was just for show. The director asked me to do such to her.” I explained to her for some reason. Thinking that she was jealous. “Hey…” I called her attention. “Don’t be like this Chagi… listen to me please?”

But it seems that she’s not willing to lend me her ear and listen to my explanations.
