CHAPTER SEVEN
Prove Them Wrong“Where’s Principal Han? He’s not riding with us?” Ma Ri asked.
“I had the driver inform him that I will be going ahead so don’t worry.”
Si Hoo opened the door for the two ladies.
“So uhm Si Hoo, will you be doing this every day for the rest of the school year?” asked Ma Ri .
Noo Ri interferes swiftly “How can you possibly ask that? Let’s not abuse his kindness. I can’t let him drive me to work every day. No offense, Si Hoo.”
“None taken” he looks back at the girls since he was seated on the front seat. “I can ride the subway with you if you don’t mind. I’ve always wondered how it feels to use public transportation.”
“You mean you haven’t tried riding a bus or a taxi before?” Noo Ri asked curiously
“Nope none of that ever. I was punish…”
“He was attending boarding school in Jeju so he doesn’t need to commute on a daily basis.” Ma Ri spoke just before Si Hoo digs himself into a hole.
“Boarding school? Must have been lonely for you huh? I cannot even stand a day without having dinner with my family. How much more living without them?”
Si Hoo smiles hearing how thoughtful and caring Noo Ri is of her family. “It is indeed very lonely. But I’m glad I’m in Seoul now and that I’m friends with you, Noo Ri.”
“I’m glad to have met you too.” Noo Ri said but she was taken aback by it. “How can I say that so casually? What is wrong with me?”
“Sir, you can stop just around the corner. My street is just a few blocks away. I can just walk from there.” Ma Ri respectfully asked the chauffeur.
Before she closes the door, she looks at her cousin “Remember your promise, okay?”
Si Hoo just smirked at her.
“Noo Ri-ah, don’t work too much. Don’t forget to be home before dinner or else Mrs. Kang would eat you whole.” Ma Ri playfully best friend.
“Bye you two! See you guys tomorrow!”
As soon as Ma Ri is gone, Si Hoo asked the driver to wait awhile. He got up from the from the front seat and transferred at the back. “I don’t want you to feel lonely since we’ll be having quite a long drive to your work place.”
