Chapter 23

After a party, that was a surprise to Rian herself, she had a little bit trouble waking up – but it was manageable. After seeing a message from Lee Hyun Wook saying they should meet to discuss an important matter she got on her feet and in a flash she was ready, in her car with her manager driving.

On her way she texted Shi Woo, once again apologizing for last night. Not only YooJin interrupted their night, along Jae who was portably forcefully dragged there, he also invited bunch of people. She could accept it if only YooJin and Jae were there, but after a little while talking with them, her apartment got filled.

She seriously couldn’t understand her best friend’s thoughts. He had invited Ailee, Nana, Siwoo, Uibong – they had come even thought they have schedule. But even Cindy was invited, along bunch of people Rian had worked with but weren’t exactly close friends.

Even thought Rian was mad, she couldn’t exactly show it. After seeing her friends who smiled at her and congratulated her birthday, she felt happy and appreciated. She couldn’t talk with Shi Woo that much, but they shared glanced every once in a while. Rian probably started getting along with Cindy faster than expected, as she seemed genuinely happy to be invited.

At first Shi Woo thought it was such a disappointment, since he couldn’t spent the time with Rian alone and get to know her even more. It was true that they got close, a lot, through the time, but Shi Woo always felt there was something hidden and mystic about her. As if even thought she speaks the painful truth, there is some more to that. Shi Woo definitely wanted to know what was that.

However as he glanced at her while she chatted with the others, she looked really happy and obviously enjoyed herself. The more he looked at her, the more the disappointment washed away. He knew he had more chances to spend time together.

Anyways, like always, Rian walked in the company halls, her heels clicking loudly. She was quite curious about that important matter, so her steps were fast. Good thing she had made herself get used to the high heels – thanks to the dancing with them, even running with heels didn’t matter (that much).

“Good morning, Lee Hyun Wook-ssi.” Rian greeted him and sat down in front of him. She placed her small bag on her lap, her hands over it and fixed gaze on him.

Lee Hyun Wook chuckled. “I didn’t expect you to see you so early, after seeing pictures from you birthday party at your place.” He said while smiling widely.

Rian gasped lightly. “There are pictures out of my birthday?” she asked with a worried gaze.

Lee Hyun Wook shook his head and smiled at her. “Of course not, I stopped them leaking around. It wasn’t much of a thing, but I'm sure you wouldn’t want your friends to get disturbed. Honestly I was really surprised. I seriously didn’t think you were the kind of a person to make a party and invite so many people. Was Cindy really there?”

Rian rolled her eyes. For a President, Lee Hyun Wook knew a lot about his artist, he even made fun of them. “I'm really not that kind of a person. It was YooJin who invited them, but it turned out good. It's nice having such surprising moments once in a while.” She explained it shortly. Lee Hyun Wook had figured out a lot about her character and she found it exciting – he really was talented in that area.

“But was that the important matter you wanted to discuss with me?” Rian asked.

Lee Hyun Wook shook his head. “Nope.” He answered shortly, which made Rian laugh shortly. “A drama director requested you to make a cameo appearance for the first and second episode of an upcoming drama.”

Rian was already listening carefully. She really had a thing for acting and now a director was requesting her.

“You will play a girl named Ryu who studies and lives in the states. She has a really close friendship with the main male lead, who even has strong feelings for her. Ryu is basically a sweet, caring, lovely and etc character. She is girly, yet pretty smart, she's rich too. The lines are mostly in Korean, but there are some in English too, I'm sure it won’t a problem for you.” Lee Hyun Wook explained  in detail.
