I stared at the email on my smartphone as I stood outside the hotel entrance of Shangri La Singapore.
Breathe, inhale and exhale. I told myself silently. Don't panic. This is just another audition, like the ones you have attended before. This is not your break. This is not going to turn you into a KPOP star. Breathe.
I took one step forward and stopped in my track. I cannot do this. I began to panic. Breathe. I told myself as I took another brave step forward. Step by step. Step by step.
Before I realised, I was standing right in front of the hotel reception desk.
"Good afternoon Miss, how may I help you?" Greeted the lady at the reception desk.
"I-I I am here for an audition. For S.M. Entertainment." I shuttered.
She narrowed her eyes as if she was judging my appearance. "Name, please?"
"Elizabeth Lee. For Adrian Kim." I replied softly.
"Hold on for a moment."
I stood in front of the desk, adjusting the strap of my off-shoulder jumpsuit. Sella had insisted that I wore this full white jumpsuit for my audition because it "accentrates my long legs and covers up my other flaws".
"You have to look your best." She insisted. "This is your one and only chance to impress."
"Please proceed to Room 1802. Here's a temporary guest key." The receptionist said, breaking away my train of thoughts as I bounced back into reality.
"Thank you." I replied nervously as I took the key from her.
"Please go straight and turn left for the lift."
"Okay."
"All the best." She smiled, somewhat genuinely.
Chin up, shoulder straight and chest out. Walk confidently. I told myself as I kept heading towards the lift lobby. The lift was already waiting for me when I have arrived.
"Good afternoon, Miss. Which level would you want to go?" Greeted the hotel staff.
