“Yes, sir. Did you call me?” he walked up to the old guy who was sitting silently at the head of the table. Though old, that guy is still what you can call handsome, with piercing eyes and strong jaws; he totally looked like the owner of Tae San- one of the biggest companies in South Korea.

     “Lee Sang Yeob-ssi, is there any news of Chae Won?” Mr. Moon asked; his voice deep and slightly concerned. Sang Yeob glanced at Jae Hee who sat quietly ignoring everything. “Unfortunately there’s not even a word receive yet. I will inform the group to expand their search” Sang Yeob bowed politely.

     “Jagiya, there’s no need to do that! I’m sure she ran away. It’s impossible for a skill archer like her to be attack by beast. And we are very sure there are no harmful animals in the woods. She must have hated me so much that she wouldn’t want to be in house with me anymore” Jae Hee said and held tightly to Mr. Moon’s hands.

     “She might have lost her way. I will not give up in my search. I know Chae Won for years, Han Jae Hee-ssi” Sang Yeob snapped but he was careful to keep his voice low enough. He knew Mr. Moon can be pretty unpredictable at times and the last thing he wanted Mr. Moon to do is cancel the search for Chae Won.

     Jae Hee sent a cold stare at Sang Yeob. ‘If you are another obstacle to my happily ever after, I’ll never hesitate to put you down too’. “Jagiya, I’m very stressed out now. I tried my best to be a good mother to Chae Won but… she never even tried to accept me. Did I do any wrongdoings?” she looked down with tears b in her eyes. “But… I know this is not the time but I can’t hold it any longer. I have good news. I’m pregnant” her sad face slowly turned to a smile. She took Mr. Mon’s hand and put it at her stomach. Sang Yeob was taken aback. The news was clearly unexpected. Mr. Moon was only able to stare at her and turned to Sang Yeob “Cancel the search for Chae Won. If she wants to come back, she will. I’m not going to waste my money on that girl”

     “But, Sir-“ Sang Yeob wasn’t able to finish his sentence when Mr. Moon shot him a warning stare. He gave a small bow and quickly walked out of the dining room, his hands clenched into fists. ‘Is it me or that woman keep on giving the director bad impression about Chae Won? She kept on saying Chae Won ran away! Aishh, the fact that Chae Won’s relationship with the director wasn’t really good all these years only worsen things up’

     Chae Won held her head. Her eyes fluttered opened and she tried to focus on her surroundings. Everything was a blur at first as she was still feeling drowsy but it all cleared out slowly. She looked around the small room. She felt like she went across time to the Joseon Dynasty especially when she realized she was wearing a simple white hanbok.

     “Omo! You’re awake! I’ll call headmaster-ssi” the girl ran away even before Chae Won could take a look on her face. Slowly, she staggered up and walked towards the door. Hands shivering, she opened the door slightly and took a peek outside. Whatever she saw was a totally breathtaking view. She could clearly see the green mountains and a spring- where a few girls, who wore hanbok too- were collecting water. The air was fresh and chilly. She started to remember that she made her way up a very tall and steep hill; of course she would see something like this. It was very different from the view she always had in Seoul.

     Further down, she saw a class of boys practicing their moves. Her gaze was immediately focused on the instructor. He did not turn around but somehow she seemed to know him. She couldn’t take her eyes off him no matter how she tried to.

     “I’m glad you’re awake. You started to worry us. How are you feeling?” an old guy came towards her with a pot of tea. She sat in front of him and took a sip from the tea. The hot and aromatic tea surely brought her back to reality and made her alert that her life was currently in danger and she needed to plan her next move. Forget the fresh air, beautiful greenery or even the happiness that is emitted from that place.

     “Much better than before. Do you have a mirror?” The old guy passed her a small mirror and she started to check on her complexion. “Ah... That clearly had overdone it. This will leave a scar don’t you think? I might be able to cover it with my bangs but still, she ruin my complexion. But…  it’s not deep, maybe laser treatment can cover it up?” she said slowly while studying her image. Th
