Sang Yeob cleared his throat, catching Mr. Moon’s attention before walking in the office with steady steps. His face was however, grim and tight. He gazed in the face of the old man, which was now sketched clearly with fear, anger and worry. “Mr. Moon, I have checked again with the men. We still can’t find traces of her and her men. But we have the latest update” he paused for a while to inhale some fresh air. He was going to drop the ugliest bomb to the old man anyway, “We found out that over the past five months, Han Jae Hee had registered three different accounts in China. We tried freezing them but she was quicker. She had drawn out all of her money”

He had to solemnly watch as the old man’s expression turned to the one of shock, then anger and finally dismayed.

Mr. Moon slowly brought up his two hands, etched with lines of ageing and buried his face in them. It was obvious that he was at lost. The turn of events had caught him by surprised. He went rigid in his position for quite some time before he suddenly questioned the well trusted young man, “What should we do now Sang Yeob-shi? Tell me?”

Sand Yeon knew it was the moment of truth. He had to tell Mr. Moon everything about his wife. Mr. Moon needed to know what had been going on behind his back and how dangerous the pregnant woman can be now that she is out of their sight.

Any moment she could take Chae Won’s life.

He shivered at that thought and reminded himself that Chae Won is now in good hands. Jae Hee and her man could do no harm to her as long as she surrounded by martial arts experts.

But Sang Yeob could not bring his mouth to say those words, to narrate the whole thing. He knew what Mr. Moon wanted most was to have a complete family. He knew Mr. Moon was too in love with his wife. He trusted her enough when she urged him Joong Ki was the one causing all the trouble in their family.

Instead of telling him the entire truth, Sang Yeon resolved to just let Mr. Moon think his wife ran away with his money. “Mr. Moon, I think that it’s best we expanded the search to all lands under Tae San’s properties even outside the outskirts of Seoul. What’s most important now is that we find Jae hee, she’s due any moment now”

Mr. Moon nodded, “You do that. I- I have reports to read.” Slowly, he took out a brown file and started ready the documents carefully placed inside. Sang Yeob knew that he was just trying to distract himself and hide his disappointment. He did not miss the tears that threatened to fall from the corners of the old man’s eyes.

Knowing that he was dismissed, Sang Yeob walked out. He made a vow to himself at that moment. Mr. Moon and Chae Won meant the whole world to him. They took him in when he had no one else. And Jae Hee will pay the price for hurting them.

He fished out his phone and dialed a number. To be exact, the one belonging to Song Joong Ki.

Every head turn when the two siblings came zooming past them, distracting them from their daily chores. A young girl was chasing after her brother who seemed to be having a pink book in his hands while yelling threats that would make cats shivered.

Not only were they distracting, they were also loud, drowning the old scratchy voices of the instructors who were busy teaching their students. The instructors frown, the girls in the kitchen giggled and the headmaster shook his head. It was just another typical day where Song Joong Ki managed to get hold of his sister’s diary which was filled with secret everybody knew. All the young girl wrote was about Jae Gil.

It wasn’t a surprise since the two shared a weird love-hate relationship while obviously being into each other. God knew why they were still not together.

Joong Ki ran fast with his sturdy legs, a mischievous grin spreaded on his lips and his hair blowing in the wind. Cho Ko however was much impressive herself. She wasn’t far behind as agility empowered her small frame. And of course she did great in multi-tasking like other girls do; she knew exactly how to run while throwing threats and coming up with new deadlier ones.

They ran past the training ground, across the lawn, the classrooms, the canteen, the kitchen and back to the dorms. When they passed the kitchen however, they caught the attention of this particular girl. Chae Won stopped chopping down the vegetables and looked up when she heard the familiar voices running past the window.

Her lips curled up in a smile when she saw the two siblings making a big fuss about the same old thing. Her thoughts were cut when another girl came peeping at the same window, “Look at him! He looks so beautiful running in the sun. Chae Won ah, tell me are you really his girlfriend?”

Chae Won stared her hand which the girl was clutching tightly before answering confidently, “Of course I am. We’ve been together for months now.” She knew she and Joong Ki had agreed now that they were in sanctuary of the school; they can keep their relationship platonic as a bodyguard and his employer. But she had no idea what came in her head. She just wanted to mark him as hers.

The girl pouted, “Really? I’ve been waiting for him for years; I did everything for him to notice me in a different way. But he went to Seoul for a while and he got himself a girlfriend. What did you do to get him?”

Chae Won shrugged in response and smiled kindly somehow contented to know that she won the secret battle, “I don’t know, I guess we were just meant to be.”

Just then, Joong Ki’s head popped in the kitchen door panting wildly. He threw that particular pink book in Chae Won’s direction and she caught it in mid-air perfectly. “Hide it Chae Won! Don’t let her get it!” he yelled and disappeared out of the kitchen again.

Cho Ko came running in the kitchen with a pouty face. “Unnie, give me my diary” she whined. Despite what Joong Ki told her earlier, she handed back the diary to Cho Ko, whose face lit up like a Christmas tree when she retrieved her beloved diary.

“Cho Ko, did you send the parcel for me?” Chae Won asked as soon as the other girl left.

“I sent it last week. You see, I’m very reliable and responsible”

Chae Won smiled in relief. “I’m thinking of going down the village today to ge
