Chapter 38
Love Matters.Taeyeon was having the time of his life as he watched all three of his girls have fun in the kitchen; his wife was not a good cook and the only culinary-related activity she could do decently was bake. Tiffany loved baking cupcakes and she had her own style of making them, which was causing a huge ruckus in the kitchen but nonetheless, making all of them have fun at the same time. He should have been in the living room keeping an eye on their sleeping baby but he didn't want to miss a moment like this.
“Baby, aren’t you supposed to be keeping an eye on Taehyung?”
“He’s not awake yet.”
Tiffany rolled her eyes at her husband’s reply; it didn’t matter whether their baby boy was awake or not, Taeyeon was supposed to be keeping an eye on him regardless. She wanted to bake with her daughters today and Taeyeon agreed but the condition was that he would be the one making sure baby Taehyung was fine and wouldn't be crying when he woke up - not that it was new for Taeyeon to do something else instead of what was required.
Hyoyeon, unexpectedly, beat her mother to the punch and frowned, “Daddy, if baby TaeTae wakes up and cries, I won’t be your friend for very long.”
Taeyeon's jaw dropped at the threat he had just received from his eldest daughter; since when did Hyoyeon change her team and become allies with her mother? His two daughters were on his side most of the time but ever since the arrival of their new baby, the girls had flipped sides and attacked their father with their little threats. Taeyeon would never be able to resist when their daughters were the ones giving him commands.
“Daddy! Go and help now!”
This time, the command came from Seohyun and she was angry indeed; her arms were placed on either side of her waist and she was glaring at her father.
Taeyeon was about to retort when ---
WAHHHHHHH!!!!
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Tiffany knew this was going to happen sooner or later; she wiped her hands on her apron before moving to rinse them with warm water so it'd kill any possible germs. She grabbed the previously prepared milk bottle and marched into the living room, pushing past her useless husband. She quickly picked Taehyung into her arms and supported the wailing boy against her chest.
“Aigoo, my baby TaeTae’s hungry, aren’t you?” Tiffany pouted her lips at her son and giggled when a cute smile appeared on his little face, “I’ll feed you your milk now, okay?”
Taehyung opened his mouth and welcomed the little nuzzle before drinking his milk, satisfying his hunger pangs in his little tummy. He snuggled his cheek against his mother's plump chest and slowly begin to close his eyes, enjoying the warm feeling. He loved being pampered by his mother and the way Tiffany would rock him to sleep was irreplaceable; it was also different when Taeyeon did it but he found it a little more difficult to fall asleep when his father was the one making him sleep.
“Mmmm…”
“Aw, TaeTae’s enjoying his milk, isn’t he?” Tiffany cooed softly, leaning down to give her baby boy a kiss on the forehead. She smiled lovingly when she realised that Taehyung had fallen asleep already; what a sleepyhead he turned out to be.
“YAHHH!!! KIM HYOYEON!”
Tiffany gritted her teeth and carefully ran her fingers through baby Taehyung’s hair, making up her mind to teach her stupid husband a lesson for being so noisy later. She hummed the tune to a soft lullaby and put Taehyung back into his crib before moving to the kitchen where she barely stopped herself from squealing in shock; nothing prepared for the sight she was greeted with.
“Taeyeon! What happened to you?”
“Fany…” Taeyeon was close to tears; he could feel the sticky substance under his shirt and in his hair. He raised his arms and stretched them out with a pout, “they threw cookie dough mix at me and spread them under my shirt…”
Tiffany was flabbergasted at the revelation but seeing how adorable their daughters were, pretending that they were innocent and mixing the dough in was completely heart-warming. Yet seeing the slightly pitiful state her husband was in, Tiffany couldn't help but wonder just how much Taeyeon had changed for her since their brush with divorce. He made good his word to treat her like the queen she was and even made sure Tiffany was never overworked or depressed.
Her man was the best and the most dependable.
“Come on, I’ll clean you up,” Tiffany sighed and pulled her husband along with her as they made their way to the bathroom. Taeyeon was pouting the entire way, cringing at the feeling of stickiness in his hair and on his stomach.
“Stop pouting, baby. I’m going to clean you up, aren’t I?”
“Hurry…”
Taeyeon hadn’t whined at her in a long time, and Tiffany found herself smiling like a fool at the thought of it. She wanted to be a good mother to her kids but at the same time, she wondered if treating Taeyeon as a child would be the same. Taeyeon always made her feel as if she was taking care of four children but it didn’t matter, because it was also the side Tiffany would look for when she was under stress and pressure. She would get annoyed and upset, but never angry or resentful.
Tiffany gently patted Taeyeon’s cheek and smiled, “you allowed them to bully you in the first place, TaeTae. Don’t complain so much when you didn’t object to it.”
“Pft… as if I can say anything…”
A gorgeous eye-smile appeared on Tiffany’s face when she heard her husband mumbling all sorts of complaints about his hair and face under his bre
