Yuri groaned, stretching his arms out as he leaned back in his seat. He had to go back to work to handle some last minute documents and appointments since Taeyeon was only coming back in the late afternoon. Unfortunately, he got called in early in the morning and had to leave the house even before the clock struck eight. 

Usually, Jessica would also be awake to prepare breakfast and help him with his tie but she was dead beat after spending the whole day at the hospital with Victoria and Nichkhun so he decided to let her sleep. After all, Jessica looked gorgeous when she was asleep. 

“Yuri-ah, do you want some coffee?”

Sunny came in through the door, an apologetic expression on her face. She felt bad for calling Yuri back to the office but she couldn't handle everything by herself since she was only the secretary. “Yes please, Noona. If I don't have something to perk me up, I'll be dead before Taeyeon arrives.” Yuri mumbled thankfully, sending Sunny the best smile he could master.

Sunny flashed a thumbs up before she walked back to her table, picking up her phone that had a message pop-up on the screen. Her heart swelled as she looked at the caller ID of the sender.

To: Sunny

Hey, I hope you enjoyed our dinner yesterday. Um… What time do you knock off today? 

From: Sooyoung

She wondered if Sooyoung wanted to pick her up or something, if not he wouldn't ask such a question... right? It's not like they wouldn't be able to decide on a place for dinner anyway, she would easily choose Sooyoung's restaurant over any other in a heartbeat. 

Flashback. 

“BOSS?!” Sunny exclaimed in both surprise and shock, immediately looking at Sooyoung to scan him for any signs of joking or pranking. 

Taeil and Sooyoung just rubbed the back of their necks, not knowing how to respond to such an outburst. It wasn't like Sooyoung wanted to hide it, he just felt that it wasn't something that Sunny needed to know just yet. He was well-of, indeed but he wasn't all that proud of it.

“Taeil, excuse us for a second.” Sooyoung said, flashing the waiter an assuring smile.

Sunny looked at Sooyoung, a little weary and confused. There were probably a million other things she didn't know about Sooyoung, considering the fact that they hadn't really been in contact for almost 2 to 3 years. However, there was one thing about Sooyoung that hadn't changed - his eyes rapidly moved from left to right when he was uncomfortable with something that was about to be made known.

“Soo?” Sunny called out softly, her hand reaching out for his that was resting on table. “Y-Yes...?” Sooyoung gulped, unaware of his sweat that was starting to form on his forehead.

“You don't have to tell me anything you're not comfortable with, okay? These things take time, I know and I understand that perfectly. Besides, we have plenty of time to get to know each other again.”

Sooyoung smiled gratefully and looked at his hand that was sandwiched between Sunny's hands, his heart rate starting to accelerate. He had let her go in the past but if he ever got another chance to make Sunny his, there was no way in hell he was going to let her go again.

“I... I own this restaurant. I opened it a year ago...” Sooyoung said slowly, taking a deep breath, “I moved out from my parents' house because I didn't like the way they tried to control my life. They said I couldn't survive without them but grandpa gave me some money before that and well... there, my restaurant.”

Sunny nodded understandingly, her thumb still caressing Sooyoung's hand. She could vaguely remember Sooyoung coming to school with multiple bruises on his face when he was called for detention the day before. It was enough to tell her what kind of environment Sooyoung lived in. 

She would help him out of his pain. 

Flashback end.  

Sunny didn't even realise that she was smiling to herself until she felt a sharp pain on her forehead. “OW!” She snapped out of it and glared at the culprit, rubbing her forehead with her palm.

“Kwon Yuri! How dare you do that to your Noona?”

“You were smiling to yourself like an idiot!” Yuri retorted, sticking out his tongue at Sunny. 

The other employees just watched the sight with an amused expression, it was something that happened every day, if not most of the time. They all knew how childish Yuri could be at times and how patient Sunny was so it was like a drama, waiting for Sunny to blow up and scold Yuri. 

“Wait till I tell your wife about this...” Sunny smirked, taking her phone from the table.

Yuri's jaw dropped and he tried to grab the phone, only to be smacked in the face with Sunny's hand. He groaned and stood up, rubbing his nose painfully with a scrunched up face. Sunny burst out laughing and continued to run around the office with her phone. “Noona...” Yuri whined, stomping his feet in front of everyone. He didn't care if he was wearing a tuxedo, he wanted to throw a fit and a fit he threw.

Sunny just collapsed onto the floor, panting as she continued to laugh at the younger guy. 

“Oh my God.”

All employees whipped their head to the entrance, finding Jessica with a palm on her forehead. She was clearly embarrassed by whatever she had just saw her husband shamelessly do. Yuri flushed pink and rubbed his neck, trying to cover his embarrassment. Sunny stood up and straightened out her black pants, running her fingers through her brown locks. 

Everyone stood up from their seats, bowing at the woman respectfully, “Mrs Kwon.” Jessica smiled and walked into the office with her handbag, “Aye.. I'm not a God or deity, you guys don't have to bow every time I come. I'm probably the same age or slightly older. Just treat me like a friend, alright?”

Whispers of agreement and admiration filled the office as they kept their eyes on the kind-hearted woman walking towards their kid of a CEO. Yuri smiled awkwardly and started moving backwards, his eyes widening when he felt the glass wall of his office behind him. 

“What did you do now?” Jessica crossed her arms, standing in front of her husband. “N-Nothing...” Yuri giggled nervously, turning towards Sunny with pleading eyes. 

“HE FLICKED MY FOREHEAD!” Sunny shouted, pointing at Yuri with a huge pout on her face. She knew Jessica would always take her side for things like these because she hated it when Yuri flicked her forehead as well. 

Yuri sighed in defeat and ran his fingers through his hair, he was so dead.

Tiffany was busying herself in the kitchen, preparing lunch for her babies. Seohyun had to go to pre-school while Hyoyeon needed to go for dance class, plus her big baby of her husband had to go back to work. She didn't want to be alone again but what could she do about it? 

Hardly anything so might as well do her best for them.

Deep in her thoughts the woman was in, unaware of the apologetic eyes watching her from behind. Those pair of eyes watched as Tiffany hummed a song to herself, checking on the seaweed soup time and again. 

“Mommy....”
