[Taeyeon]

It’s still dark out there and I could feel the chilly breeze past through the openings of our little shack. I squinted as I tried to check our surroundings, making sure that nothing is out of place while we were asleep.

I heard her groaning cutely as I tried to move back a bit. I was now caught in a bit of an awkward and uncomfortable position. She tightened her arms around me as she kept on trying to fit her head under my chin. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the cuteness of her.

“Cold…” I heard her mumbling against my skin, which automatically sends tingles all over my body.

I gave up on trying to check the other things that were not within my sight. I went back to my position earlier and felt her snuggling right away, fitting her leg in between my own. I could feel her warm breath against my neck.

“Taetae...”

“Hmm?”

“Sleep…”

“Mhm…”

“Sleep…”

“Alright. Go back to sleep.” It didn’t take long until I felt her finally relax altogether and her breathing became slow and smooth.

If they are indeed still looking for us and they finally find us here, will everything change between us? I hope not. Would I still be able to call you mine? Would I still be able to hold you like this? Or would everything be just memories that will be left behind as soon as we leave this island? Would they all take you away from me and I would have to go back to living alone in this lonely world? But, whatever happens, I do hope you’ll stay to be this bright and full of life girl that I got to know. It is far from what I have seen and watched back then. Live for your dreams.

I ran my hand gently through her hair. Then, I let it rest on her nape as I held her closer to me. I can’t lose her. I pulled back a bit and traced her face with my finger – her jaw, her chin, her cheek, her nose. Her nose scrunched up as I continue tracing her face but she didn’t wake up at all. I just felt her tighten the arm that was resting on my waist. I continued to paint her beautiful face in my mind for who knows how long. Just in case. Just in case my worst fear happens.

Well, I’m not sure how long I slept but it still is a bit dark. Not long I guess. Tiffany was still sleeping in my arms. I had to stop myself from laughing. This girl could definitely sleep.

I haven’t really had any problems sleeping but ever since that helicopter incident, I just couldn’t get myself to relax completely and get some sleep. Maybe I just didn’t want to miss another chance in case another one passes by.

I stretched my body lazily and carefully after moving her head off of my shoulder. I sat up and stretched some more as I try to shake away the drowsiness that still lingers.

It didn’t take long until I felt her stirring next to me. And I couldn’t help but smile when I felt her hand roaming around looking for mine.

I covered hers with mine and brought it to my lips before leaning down to give her cheek the same treatment. “Hello there, sleepy head,” I whispered to her.

Before I could even straighten up, I felt her holding me in place and returned the favor. She gave me a kiss on the cheek and then on my lips – oh these butterflies in my stomach. I won’t ever get tired of this for sure.

The kiss slow and gentle – perfect way to start the day. We stayed cuddling for a while before I finally went on and about to really start our day.

Our supplies were getting low and I know that we need to do something about this if we want to survive longer. I need for her to survive until help comes. I found a new seed of hope after seeing that helicopter. Maybe, just maybe, they are still looking for us.

Well, it’s been a good I must say. Taeyeon’s mood seem to have gotten better already. She’s more relaxed now and even being playful again.

I really would not forget this place. It’s very tranquil. Although there’s just the two of us here and we are only relying on what we both know, all this time it still felt like home to me. Would it be safe to say that I was able to rediscover myself while I was stuck in this island? And more than anything else, I met and got to know the most wonderful person there is.

And, I am watching her right now play like a kid in the water.

“Pani ah, come on! Play with me!” She was running towards me, then knelt right in front of me with her innocent, puppy eyes look as she pouted.

Now, how can I say no to that? “Oh, alright.”

“Yay!” And, she stood up, pulling me to stand as well and ran towards the water.

After a while, I had to drag Taeyeon out of the water and rest. I don’t know why she was so hyper or where she’s even getting all her energy at, but I was getting exhausted and hungry. Then, she asked if I wanted to wash off the salt water off and so we headed towards the falls inside the woods.

We ended up eating the fruits from the trees that we are familiar with after washing up.

Back in our shack, we both laid down on our backs. I was looking up, spacing out, but I could feel her eyes on me.

I know she’s worn out too but for some reason we both couldn’t sleep. So many things were running in my mind. So many questions, so many what-ifs.

What would happen next? What if we were rescued the last time, what’s waiting for us out there? Would I still have to live the same life I did before? Would I even have Taeyeon still next to me? What if they break us apart?

My thoughts were interrupted when I felt Taeyeon rolling on to her stomach and rested her chin on my arm – but I remained still.

“What are you thinking about?”

“Hmm?”
 

“I said, what are you thinking about?” She scooted a bit higher, her chin now resting on my shoulder.

I turned my head and I had to smile when I saw the curious and caring look in her. Her eyes were looking straight through me.

“Nothing.”
