“So is it true? The rumor, I mean.” your friend Kanna asked eagerly.

You gave a mere shrug in response. “Not that I’ve seen ghosts or any other creepy stuff so far…”

You had just moved from a big city to a rural area in the outskirts recently. Despite your parents’ apprehension and disapproval, you still moved anyway, figuring that you yourself would enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the countryside, having lived in the bustling urban city for your whole life. You loved your new life so far, away from the constant pressures of the city. It was a little strange, however. To rationalize some occasional disappearances that happen in the town, it was said that there was a vampire going around kidnapping people.

“Apparently, these disappearances have been happening since the eighteenth century or something! And they say the vampire was some aristocrat called Kazuya…” As a fan of myths and legends, Kanna was excited to be sharing the details with you.

“Why him?” you asked curiously.

“He was killed by his fiancée who wanted to elope with another guy,” You nodded. “But his corpse was never found! They say that he was probably taken away by a vampire and turned into one himself!” You nodded again, but being the type of person to not really believe in the supernatural, you took in the information with a pinch of salt.
