"Shall we go then?" Kyomoto Taiga was dressed in a black tuxedo with his hair combed back, offering you his arm. You smiled up at him, linking your with his as the both of you stepped into the prom venue. You would have never thought that you would accept a prom invitation from him, of all people, in the whole three years of your high school life.

The reason of your accepting could be traced to a few months back. 

You had just got off a student council meeting that ended late that day. The sky was already dyed a deep shade of indigo. "Uh oh..." you thought. "Better get home quick before I get scolded again." Your parents were probably the strictest on curfew. If you were not home by 8pm, they would ring you up a thousand times and give you a really long lecture afterwards. After a long day at school, it was the last thing you wanted. 

You decided to take a shortcut to go home via a network of alleys. It was probably unsafe to go alone but your dislike for your parents' scoldings got the better of you. "What's the worst thing that could happen? The house isn't that far anyway..." 

You were walking through a dimly-lit alleyway when you realized that there were footsteps behind you. Feeling scared, you held your bag closer to your body, fingers tightly clenching on the protection charm that hung from it. After a few minutes, you realize the footsteps have not ceased. Gathering all your courage, you spun back around. "Who's there?!" You tried to muster up as much bravado as you could. "Well, well... Look boys. The little girl has finally decided to recognise our presence!" The voice sounded sinster, giving you goosebumps all over. Following you were three figures. Under the dim orange light given off by a sole street lamp, you could barely make out their faces. 

"Why don't you have some fun with us tonight, hmm?" 

"No! Leave me alone!" But you could feel your bravery leave your body bit by bit, as each second passed.
