Yoona paced around the living room to her room to the bathroom, then the kitchen –twice, and finally back to the living room, where Luhan was leaning on the wall near the door, with his luggage on his right and Yoona’s on left. Standing for more than half an hour, adjusting the strap of his bag pack, he drew patterns on the floor with his white sneaker, whistling softly while waiting for Yoona to finish whatever she was doing, Luhan didn’t really know, since Yoona was always everywhere doing a lot of things. Luhan didn’t want to distract her, because that would only make her job harder, he didn’t want to trouble his girl.  

“Okay, one last check before we go,” Yoona said.

Luhan grunted as his respond and arched his brow. This was her third time that she said that.

“I promise this is really the last time,” Yoona promised. Luhan sighed but nodded.

“Passports,”

“Check,”

“Luggage,”

“Check,” Luhan said, grabbing the handle to Yoona’s luggage and dragged it outside.

“Wallet,”

“Your wallet is in your bag and mine is in here,” Luhan pointed his thumb over his shoulder,

“Okay, did I miss anything?” Yoona looked around the house, trying to recall back her checklist inside her head. Tapping her chin, she couldn’t seem to remember anything until she saw Luhan was playing with the door knob of the apartment, “Who will take care of the apartment while we’re gone?” Yoona started to pace around again, reaching out for her phone but Luhan stopped her, “I told Sehun that I’ll be giving him my keys but we’ll keep yours. They’ll come over when they can to make sure the house is okay,” Luhan explained, nudging her to the door gently, “C’mon, we don’t wanna be late, right?”

“Yea, okay let’s go,” Yoona took one final look around the house and walked slowly towards the door. Luhan couldn’t tell if Yoona’s action the whole time was because she was nervous to leave the house or she was nervous to go to Paris.

Either way, she didn’t back out from their trip. “Yoona, the taxi is waiting for us. Let’s go. Say goodbye to our apartment,” Luhan nodded to the door as he carried both Yoona’s and his luggage down the stairs.

Yoona looked to the door of her apartment and waved absentmindedly, “Bye-bye, house. We’ll see you in five days time.”

“And I want you to take care of our Yoona with your life. If anything happens to her, you are going to have to deal with all eight of us.” Sooyoung said jabbing her finger to Luhan’s direction.

Luhan just nodded obediently, “I will.”

“Okay then, have a safe trip you guys. Don’t be naughty, okay?” Hyoyeon wiggled her brows teasingly.

Before the couple could say anything, their flight number was called and Yoona was squeezed into a group hug as if she was planning to stay in Paris forever.

With one final wave, they both enter the terminal.

They could hear voices of different languages filled the air as they had to search for Yoona’s friend Yeonhee.

After their long trip from Korea, they were both very tried and the only thing they wanted to do right then was to sleep in a nice warm, comfy bed.

“Yoona!! Over here!” A voice shrieked over the noise which made Yoona to look around, trying to find the source of the voice. After a moment she smiled and rushed to a woman, who was slightly taller than her but minus those killer heels, Luhan knew that Yoona was actually taller than her.

  Yoona abandoned her luggage and launched herself to Yeonhee for a girl hug. “Yeonhee, I'm so glad to see you again! I really missed you. And thank you so much for doing this.” Yoona said while rocking her long friend side to side. Yeonhee just chuckled inwardly and let go of their embrace, “So this is your precious, Luhan. Hi, I’m Lee Yeonhee, Yoona’s friend from middle school and high school.” Yeonhee addressed herself to him, offering Luhan her hand, which he took, introducing himself afterwards. Flashing a brief smile, which was halfheartedly due to his tiredness.

“So where to now?” Luhan asked, to no one in particular, just a quick nap was all he needed. And Yoona could use some to.

“Oh, you guys must be tired, let’s go. The hotel is not far from here, you can enjoy the night time view of Paris, and it’s beautiful. And I’ll show you guys around in the morning. Sounds good?” Yeonhee asked, leading them to the yellow taxi waiting for them outside.

As the taxi started to move, Yoona had her head rested on Luhan’s shoulder, hand in hand, as Luhan played her finger. Tracing her fingers one by one. Pressed his cheek on her hair, Luhan had always loved to this with her; holding her close, as they breathe in and out evenly, clearheaded and cozy.

“Luhan, what do you think my birthmother would say when she meet me? Will she even know who I am? Will she accept me?” Yoona asked, with her eyes closed.

This situation was very familiar. It was like when Yoona told him about her birthmother in the first place. Luhan really felt guilty, he knew something that would hurt Yoona, badly. And few weeks ago, he kept rambling on and on about not making her cry or sad. He really had bad feeling about this, but he promised to be next to her, every step of the way.

“Whatever happens, I’ll always be by your side. Don’t worry Yoon. No mother ever hates her own children. Not you.” Luhan answered lowly, her hair.

Yoona half smiled, “Thanks, Lu. You always know what to say, main reason why I love you.” Yoona gave him a quick peck on the lips, then the cheek, nuzzling into his neck; she wrapped her arms around his waist as Luhan pulled her closer.
