Im Yoona; My Roommate

Can't Say I Love You - Ock Joo Hyun - YouTube

~~~
That morning, as usual, Yoona rushed her way to campus. When had she not?
She constantly apologized to the people she bumped into. Once she entered the library, her eyes were looking for her friend. She walked to the table in which where Seohyun always go to when she was free. To read mostly, either that or just studying.
“Seohyunie, Am I late?” Yoona asked her as she took a seat across her friend.
Seohyun smiled warmly and shook her head, “No, I was just early.”
Yoona nodded. “So, did you manage to send all the deliveries yesterday and the day before that?”
“Yes, unnie, I did-”
“Even the one who ordered from Jeju?”
“I mailed it, don’t worry unnie, I handled everything.” Seohyun assured Yoona.
Yoona released the breath of relive. *Okay, everything is settled but wait did Seohyun send the right items??*
Yoona was about to shoot Seohyun another question but Seohyun stopped her before she could. “Unnie, you’ve been working and pushing yourself way too hard. The reason why I offered to do delivery last weekend was for you to rest and not stress yourself out. But it’s not working when you kept on thinking about it the whole time.”
“Oh, trust me I didn’t think about it the whole week. I have the greatest distraction.” Yoona answered.
Seohyun was partly shocked, her Yoona unnie didn’t think about work? That was weird.
“Really? What is it?” Seohyun asked, almost enthusiastically.
“More like, ‘who is it’, Seohyun. Well, I got a roommate.” Yoona confessed.
Seohyun was now very alert. “That’s good news right?”
Yoona knit her eyebrows together. She didn’t know how to answer that. A few days ago, she would answer; no, all capitalized and an exclamation mark at the end screaming for emphasis. But now, she was damn confused, Xi Luhan, was… something.
“Molla, Seohyunie.” Yoona answered, but she couldn’t help but repeating Seohyun’s question in her head.
Yoona’s puzzled expression had thrown Seohyun a little bit, she had known Yoona for a long time, and she knew that if Yoona was upset, she would just tell it to her straight. Why was Yoona so out of character all of the sudden?
Seohyun had always cared for her friends, all of her nine sisters, because she was the only child and the feeling of having nine close friends was really endearing to her. Therefore, she swore to always be the one who lend her shoulder to cry on and always be at their back, showing them her care for them.
“Is something the matter unnie? Y’know you can tell me anything.” Seohyun told her.
Yoona took a deep breath. “The roommate I told you about was a man and-” Seohyun gasped and cringed in disgust.
Yoona had already predicted Seohyun’s reaction before, and she was right. Typical reaction from a girl who thought that men were gross. Adorable.
“- we didn’t start off quite well, I have to say that it was a situation which happened at the wrong time, at the wrong place. At first, I thought he was going to be an annoying pimple on the ; when you pop it, it’ll be damn painful. Okay, that was a weird metaphor. Sorry~” Yoona sheepishly smiled. Seohyun just waved her hand.
“Anyways, I was right, he was one pain in the as—err, . But that was only for a few days. Then, I felt guilty because I wasn’t that welcoming to him, maybe that was the reason why we always argue. That wasn’t my usual greeting to a person but I guess I wasn’t myself that night. I was cranky and-”
Seohyun interrupted. “I bet you were stressed out.” Seohyun highlighted the last two words.
“That’s a possibility-” Seohyun shook her head, “No, unnie, it’s not a possibility. That’s one of the reasons.”
“That’s what Yuri said.” Yoona said while blankly stared at the table.
“Then, Yuri unnie is right.” Seohyun said and Yoona absent-mindedly nodded as her respond.
Yoona’s class was going to start in few minutes. Yoona was heading to the usual lecture room but her mind was elsewhere.
Once she had voiced out her opinion to Seohyun, she couldn’t help but think of the hidden messages behind her words.
Yoona’s POV
“Hurry, hurry, Miss Im. Take a seat.” I bow apologetically and pull out a seat next to the girl with an obviously plastic face.
30 minutes passed but I was still preoccupied. I can’t help it. Why can’t I help feeling something? And I don’t even know what that ‘something’ is! It’s tormenting me. It had me drowning with doubts.
Was it guilt?
Maybe I was tiring myself, does that even consider as an excuse?
What is it then?
Xi Luhan, what have you done to me?
You had entered my world unexpectedly and I just don’t know what to feel.
You had never left my mind ever since you came into my life, and somehow changed me. Your shiny eyes when you look at me when we had our staring contest. If only you knew how mesmerized I was then. Your facial expression after you pushed me down; I could have sworn l could see the bright white pure light from heaven. Not forgetting your sudden change of reaction; I could see it in your eyes that you were worried.
My heart was beating like crazy once I entered the bathroom. And you are the cause. You and your eyes which were sparkling with care. Your voice; it was as smooth as velvet.
I kept on telling people that you are the worse kind of person to ever share a place but it was actually for me. It was just to tell myself that dating and romance is the last thing l needed then,
But how am l supposed to kid myself when I am slowly falling for you, ever since the day that l pulled the prank on you. When you look down with your innocent expression, it really hit me; you are not as bad as I thought you were
I remembered the tone of your voice, when you talked about your family and friends. They were full of love and care. You were scared that you didn’t show them enough love but if only they could the beautiful voice of your heart.
Purity; that was a word to describe it perfectly.
Can this be real? I only have known you not long ago.
I’m so confused.
I need signs from you.
Is it possible that something can happen so fast?
Yoona's POV. Hehehe.. :P
I kinda like writing in first person's view because it is suitable to decribe a character's feelings.
So now you know Yoona's part-time job was!
Yes, she was one!
