“Appa, what are you doing here?” Yoona chuckled nervously. She could feel the tension between her dad and Luhan. There was no doubt that her father didn’t like how Luhan was in the same apartment as Yoona. Alone.

“Can I not visit my baby girl?” Her dad answered, rather calmly. The fact that her dad showed calmness had really boosted Luhan’s nervous meter. Shouldn’t he hit him right about now? Or at least argue or a tiny complaint would be normal but this guy didn’t do anything. And that tension had really ticked Luhan off. It won’t stop bothering him.

“Of course, you can. Appa, come in.” Yoona invited him inside. After her dad passed by them, Luhan stopped her, “So, he’s your dad?” Yoona nodded.

“Are you sure, because normal dad would usually be at least curious to why HIS daughter is living with a man?” Luhan pointed out. It was really obvious that Yoona’s dad had really made him feel uncomfortable.

“I know, but he has always been that way. Silence had always been his secret weapon to make other people talk. His stares are really demanding. Do me a favor; pretend to be my boyfriend.” Yoona said it more as a statement than a question.

Luhan blinked, “Me- You- us- a-couple?” He stuttered. “Yes, you pabo! If my dad finds out the whole story of us, he’ll flipped out and probably hurt you. This way, it’ll be a lot safer.” Yoona explained.

“But, isn’t that worst; I’m ‘dating’ his daughter. He’ll probably murder me.” Luhan protested.

“Just go with it. My dad is probably wondering where we are, let’s go.” Yoona lightly pushed him to the living room.

“So, how long have you to been… dating?” her father asked them.

“5 months”

“3 months and 2 days.”

They both answered at the same time that Yoona’s dad raised his eyebrow in curiosity.

“We meet 5 months ago and we started dating about 2 months after that.” Yoona smoothly lied.

“oh.” He nodded.

*oh? Just an ‘oh’ with a dot at the end? Seriously? This guy really knows how to make people nervous.* Luhan mentally whined.

“Why so soon?” her dad continued on asking, this time his gaze bored to Luhan. Oh, that cold eyes. One word; scary.

“Huh?”

“The both of you. You said you’ve only known each other for 5 months and dating for 3 months. But why are you living together?”

*Wait how did he know that?* Yoona thought. Her facial expression reflected her thoughts that her father answered, “I took a look around the house, and I saw the board and his room.”

Well that was… blunt.

“Uh, sir, with all due respect. I meant no harm to your daughter if that’s what you thought. I love her, and I don’t need a long time for a second thought, in fact I don’t think that would be necessary. She accepts me for I am as I accept her for herself.” Luhan briefly explained, totally oblivious to the fact Yoona was very touched with his answer but then she reminded herself that it was all part of an act.

“I know that you wouldn’t hurt her. Truthfully speaking, I felt that she would be in good hands when she’s with you.” He replied.

“Huh?”

“What?”

Yoona and Luhan certainly didn’t expect that at all. “Appa, What do you mean?”

Yoona’s dad shifted in his seat and locked his fingers together, “I trust him because, and I know my own daughter. She is not the type of person to be careless. And there must be a reason why you are here. And I saw the board, the house rule,” he ended with a chuckle.

“You two seemed… civilized, I think. But I’m warning you, boy. Anything happened to my daughter. You will be the first one who’s going to get it.” He warned sternly.

Luhan gave a tiny smile of relief. *He’s okay with this?*

“So, appa. What’s with the bags?” Yoona changed the topic. Right that moment, Luhan realized that he was carrying a travelling bag and a small carryon bag this whole time.

*Oh no, don’t tell me. He’s gonna stay here with us?!* Luhan prayed not.

“Oh, these. I just arrived from Paris.” He mumbled at the last word, he knew that his daughter was very sensitive at that place. “For what?” She asked, even though she already knew the answer.

“The usual.” He answered vaguely.

“Luhan, tell me about yourself. Don’t make yourself a stranger to me now.” Yoona’s dad said with a warm smile.

Luhan started to talk and every once in a while Yoona would jump into the conversation and they would crack up over a joke or two.

“Dad, are you sure that you don’t want to stay? It’s gonna rain and I don’t want you to be caught on anything.” Yoona said coaxed her father on staying. Even Luhan was worried, but her father rejected on her kind offer yet again. *Now I know where she gets her stubborn persona from.* Luhan thought.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. The taxi ride won’t be long anyway.” Her father assured her.

He kissed his daughter’s forehead, went inside the taxi with his belongings and drove off.

Luhan looked up to the dark grey skies. The heavy clouds warned the people to take shelter from its rain. “Yoon, I think we need to get inside now.” Luhan covered her head to his chest when he felt the tiny droplets hit him on the head and shoulders.

“Your dad was… nice.” Luhan started.

“Yea, he is but very secretive.” She trailed off to a mumble.

“How is that?” Luhan asked. But before Yoona could answer, the lights went out.

Just Great!

It’s pouring cats and dogs outside. And the electricity went out.

And Yoona knew that she couldn’t continue to hide things from Luhan anymore since they had become so close. “I’ll talk. But let’s get the blackout candles from the kitchen first.”

Luhan couldn’t do anything except granting her wishes. She was clearly disturbed over something, and Luhan felt lucky enough that Yoona trusted him enough to tell him.
