*Youngjae’s POV*

“Youngjae! Youngjae! Youngjae!” I was woken up by my name being called excessively and being shaken in the bed. I sat up rubbing my eye sleepily. “Daehyun?” I yawned, a bit surprised that he was here already. “I thought you went home last night?” I said stretching.

“Yeah, I did. I slept for a couple of hours and came back, but when I came you were fast asleep. I didn’t want to wake you up, so I watched you sleep.” He said happily. I looked at him strangely. “And that’s not creepy how?” I questioned. “Because you’re 50% mine.” He smiled childishly.

I shook my head laughing a little. “You didn’t have to wake me up so early. Today we’re just making little objects to sell." I told him. “I know, but I have an amazing idea.” He said. “What is it?” I asked. “Let’s go to the Kingdom! Just you and me. We can stay in a motel and spend 4 to 5 days in the city part of the Kingdom. We can leave the day after tomorrow!” he said excitedly. “Wow…um, that’s so soon.” I said.

“I’d love to go! I just have to ask my parents.” I smiled at him, liking the idea. I can definitely learn more about him then. “I already spoke to them about it yesterday.” He smiled proudly. I couldn’t help but laugh, of course he did. “What did they say?” I asked curiously.

“It was honestly really hard to convince them. I was there talking to them for hours until they finally agreed. I persuaded them to trust that I am capable in making sure nothing happens to you or myself.” He said.

“Great!” My smile took over my entire face. I couldn’t help but feel excited myself. It sounded really fun, the idea of spending a week in the city, just with Daehyun. I’ve never been to the kingdom before, but from what it sounds like it sounds like an amazing place. “You haven’t told them yet…have you?” Daehyun suddenly asked.

I knew exactly what he meant and I was honestly hoping that he wouldn’t ask that. “What makes you say that?” I tried to play off. “Because they hadn’t mentioned it when I was talking to them. I wasn’t expecting them to, but I had figured they’d bring it up if they heard about it.” He simply explained.

I sighed, “No, I haven’t. Jaehwan knows though.” I tried. He pouted slightly, laying on my bed. “What are you waiting for?” he asked. “it’s only been 4 days.” I said. “That’s 96 hours, almost 100! It’s 120 after today.” He said. “It’s…It’s hard. I mean…I’ve never dated before.” I said blushing as I spoke. “And how can I tell them that we’re together when I haven’t even told them that you’re a vampire.” I finished.

Daehyun didn’t say anything, he was just silent and stared up at the ceiling. I frowned. “Are you mad at me?” I asked feeling guilty.

His eyes averted over to me at the question. “No, of course not. I kind of understand.” He said sitting up, flashing a smile. I smiled back feeling less bad. “I promise I’ll tell them everything.” I said determined. “You don’t have to tell them that I’m a vampire right away though.” He chuckled. “But don’t worry about it.” He said. “Let’s go down stairs and eat breakfast.” With that said he pulled my wrist and dragged me out of my room, down the stairs, into the kitchen where breakfast was already ready.

After breakfast we brushed our teeth, changed, and joined my mother and brother in the family room where the sewing and craft building took place. It kind of worried me seeing my mother and Jaehwan sewing. I was afraid that they might prick themselves and bleed slightly and trigger something in Daehyun.

“Here I got this Jaehwan, you can finish painting the bird house.” I finally said, taking the sweater that he was sewing. I was more nervous for him since he was only 10 and less careful than my mom. “Okay!” Jaehwan said happily, he liked to paint.

Daehyun looked at me strangely catching the slight worry in my tone. I just smiled uneasily at him and he went back to carving out his wooden box that my father would later turn into a jack in the box toy.

“Daehyun you come by a lot. And when you do you always help us out with our work.” My mom chuckled. “You don’t have to do this, but we do really appreciate your hard work. I just wanted to tell you that.” She said. “Even if you almost blew up the kitchen trying to make breakfast one time.” I snickered. “Hey~…we don’t speak of that.” Daehyun said shoving me playfully.

“It would be nice to meet your family and tell them about such a young gentleman they’ve raised. And thank them for allowing you to come over for such periods of time. I want to incite them for dinner. Is that a good idea?” My mom said. “That sounds like a great idea!” I agreed happily. Over dinner with both families there Daehyun and I can tell them about us. “Oh good. What kind of food does your family like to eat? I’ll try to make it?” My mother asked Daehyun.

The vampire’s mood seemed to change to one a bit uncomfortable. “Um…You mean family as in parents and siblings?” Daehyun asked, his voice suddenly small. I looked at him a bit concerned. My mother nodded. “Oh um…I don’t have that kind of family. My parents left me when I was young…and I don’t know if I have any siblings.” He said in a quiet tone.

My heart sunk. I didn’t even know that. Here I was talking about the problems of a family farm life, when Daehyun didn’t have a family this whole time…well besides his clan. “I’m sorry to hear that. I’m…I’m sorry for bringing it up.” My mother apologized feeling terrible.

“It’s fine. You guys actually feel like a family to me.” Daehyun said honestly, blushing slightly. “We see you as family as well. You’re more than welcome to stay by us if you don’t have anywhere good to stay.” He offered. Daehyun’s eyes widened slightly. “Really?” he asked surprised. I was surprised myself.

“Of course.” She smiled. “Oh wow, thank you! But I already have a nice home I’m staying in, but thank you a lot for the offer.” He thanked gratefully. “No problem.” She said folding up her finished winter sweater and began to sew a new one.

We worked for a few more hours before we took a break for lunch. We had sandwiches and some apple juice with a cookie for desert. “Hhmm…something just crossed my mind.” My mother spoke up as we ate.

“What is it?” I asked between bites of my sandwich. “I was think you and Daehyun are older now and are nearly adults, and it’s about that time for you to be taking in someone…if you know what I mean. So while you two are out you guys should…mingle around.” She said in a teasing tone, though she was serious.

“Umma~…” I whined, feeling slightly embarrassed. Daehyun just chuckled. “What? I’m serious. I don’t want you guys to be alone forever.” She said.

“Umma! But Youngjae and Daehyun-ah are-,” “Jaehwan! Did you feed Poppy yet? I think he might be hungry.” I said, quickly cutting Jaehwan off. He looked at me strangely then it hit him. “Omo! I haven’t fed Poppy yet! Don’t worry Poppy! I’m coming!” Jaehwan called dashing out of the kitchen.

I sighed in relief. “But when you do go find someone for each of you, please don’t let it be an Incubus or Vampire.” She said looking distressed. Daehyun and I looked at each other warily. “Wh-Why not?” I asked hesitantly.

“I don’t have anything against either creature, but they are very possessive once you become their mate. And I want to be able to see you two.” She said actually sounding somewhat sad. She was thinking about Kikwang. She missed and worried over him a lot.

Neither of us responded, unsure of what to say. “Please promise me that you guys won’t get caught up with either creature.” She said her eyes pleading us for a promise.

I didn’t know what to do. I can’t just not promise her, but how am I supposed to promise here when I’ve already broken it before it could be made, and I don’t want to leave Daehyun. But how can I suddenly tell her now? How will she react? I don’t want to hurt her or stress her out. Nor do I want to be separated from Daehyun either.

Just then Jaehwan came running into the kitchen. “Umma! Appa needs your help! Quick!” Jaehwan said with much urgency. “Okay, I’m coming.” She said and followed the 10 year old out of the kitchen.

I sighed in relief breathing again, not realizing that I had stopped. What
