Chapter 44

Dragon bride

Within a short time, the cottage in the cavern was restored to its proper state. Out of exhaustion, both jaejoong and Soomin laid upon the new bed, fast asleep. Yunho and JungHan stayed outside catching up with lost times. There were so much that needed to discuss and Yunho had plenty of questions to keep the conversation going. Floating around are small orbs of lights created by JungHan to provide some lights into this darkness. Laughter could be heard as past memories were brought before them

JungHan chuckled softly as Yunho’s face reflected a pink color

“Can we not bring back that embarrassing moment from my childhood?” Yunho asked feeling a since of embarrassment

“Alright…alright….I won’t mention it anymore….”

Yunho was silent for a few minutes and couldn’t help but felt like old times, sitting out at night chatting and laughing with JungHan, his parent and his close friends. However, as quick as the smile came, it also faded as his mind came back to reality that those days were no more. In a soft tone of voice he spoke the dragon’s name “JungHan….”

“Mm…”

“Tell me what happen after I left that day?”

Upon this question, JungHan turn to face him who shows an expression of wanting to learn the truth. The smile on his face faded away as he lifted his gaze to the little moonlight that came down from the hole above.

“A lot of things happen…more battled arises between the remaining dragons and human hunters…more bloodshed….more death covers the land…more tears flow from both sides….it was a very dark time….with no king to lead….many dragon went astray…fighting in blind rage….targeting not only the hunters…but all human rather they are innocent or not….it was no longer just a massacre of our place…it became a world war from all land to all sea….in all my years…I have never seen such horror…the last time anything like this happen was long ago when human first team up with dragons to fight against the mighty white dragon…I also took part in that fight as a young dragon…I thought after it was over that human and dragon can finally find peace among themselves….” JungHan paused as he let out a sigh “Who would have thought that not long afterward…human and dragon will once again face each other in battle….”

Yunho lower his gaze and did not say anything feeling like this was his fault. If he had stand up and become the leader they needed, maybe he could have prevented such an outcome. JungHan could see the bitter look on Yunho’s face, understanding what is going through his student’s head at this moment.

“It is not a blame that you should carried upon your shoulder…”

“But…It was a choice that I made that lead to it….I would have ignored my heart...and accepted her love….sometime I wondered if that night I didn’t push her away…will not have stray from the right path and team up with the hunters….will everyone still be alive…will our home still be there…” Yunho spoke in a low tone of voice to show his remorse

“Indeed…accepting her love will spare all those that have passed….there will probably be no blood shed…if there was…it will be minimum…the war between human and dragon would not have ended in such a terrible way….we will still be living in peace…” smile JungHan “but…that also mean…you will never have meet him…your fate and his will never come to be of what it is now….and you…wouldn’t have changed into the person you have become…”

Yunho didn’t say anything as JungHan sigh deeply “…not everything can be determined …fate is a mysterious phenomenon that can’t be fully understood…choices that are made brings forth very different outcomes…. some choices will bring forth calamity but also brings a better future….while some choices will bring forth good fortune but a dark future…. all we can do is try our best and hope that fate will show some mercy….if some choices are wrong…it’s already too late to change it…but what you can do is learn from it…”

Yunho kept quiet as if to organize all his thoughts, usually he doesn’t like to show any weakness or fear nor does he want others to know what is going through his mind. However, seeing JungHan again, he couldn’t help but have the urge to consult with him about the fear that lies deep within. He looks at his hand as if looking at something feeble and brittle “In the past people often praised me for being strong….for having a power source that can be comparable to our strong ancestors…they praised how my core will become even stronger than that of my father….Even though as a child I am mostly withdrawn after my mother’s death…I still learn things fast…develop my ability quicker than others….everyone made me feel like I can save the world….but…” he closed the fingers into a tight fist as his expression became bitter “…at the end….I wasn’t able to protect anything….not my father….not my friends….not my people….not my home…everyone died a horrible death….even when I was framed…made to look like I betrayed everyone….I got scare…I became a coward and hide instead of standing strong to prove my innocence…All of this happened when I was still at full power….now that I am only at half…I fear that what I had gain now could not be protected…I fear…that one day…I will also loose the one person who I had begun to care for….I fear that I am not strong enough to hold onto what I had found…a future of returning to the loneliness of not having anyone…scares me…”

JungHan looks at Yunho with a sadden look on his face, wondering what had this young king gone through all these centuries. What everyone went through was horrible…but no one will understand the difficulties that this young prince endured all by himself

“it is not your fault…it is the fault of everyone who held you at such a high expectation….what took place has nothing to do with you…think of it as something that must happen for something greater to take place…”

“What can be greater at the death of so many?”

The lip on JungHan’s curved into a gentle smile “A new beginning with a new king…maybe a new future where the human and dragons will be able to live in harmony…”

Yunho became quiet

“You made a choice to save your bride’s life by giving up half of yours…both in heart…soul…life…and power…yes…you may not be as strong as you once were because half of you now lies within him…but if you look at it on the bright side…you gain something that no one else nor any other dragon have ever gain before…and that is a willful…strong and courageous bride who isn’t afraid to fight side by side with you…you gained a partner who will face death in order to save you….a bride who is able to make up for the weakness that you had gain in return for giving up half your strength…it will be like having a whole there but in two very different forms….as the old saying goes…two are better than one…”

Upon these words, Yunho seem to regain some confident as his lip curved into a soft smile. JungHan watches him as his expression softens and a chuckle escaped from his mouth.

“What is it?” Yunho asked

“It’s nothing…I’m just glad you were able to finally find love…I was kind of scare that maybe I might have too much influence on you and that you too will choose not to be accept a bride….”

Yunho’s face flushed as he look away in embarrassment before clearing his throat “It’s getting late…we should turn in for the night…”

He got up and went into the cottage as JungHan chuckles even more upon his shy expression. He turn his gaze to the hole on the ceiling and could see a few twinkling stars as he smiled gentle.

As Jaejoong slept, he could hear the soft sound of water echoing in his ear. He felt his body become light one moment and then heavy the next. The coldness that surrounded him made him shivers as he slowly open his eyes. He is once again floating inside an endless body of water. To his knowledge, this is the stream of connection between a bride and the dragon. But unlike the last time he was here, the water was darker in color, the coldness was almost freezing that he can feel his body turning numb. Jaejoong can’t help but feel something is off about this place, it gives off a sinister feeling. He suddenly felt something moves behind him as he turn around but sees nothing. Another movement came from the front as he turn around and once again he sees nothing.

“I know you are here…if you have something to say to me…come out and say it” jaejoong spoke

There was silence in the body of water making him feel even more anxious

“There is no point in hiding…”

Once again there was silence, increasing jaejoong’s restlessness “Does this…have something to do with Yunho?”

There were some more movements around him as he sees a dark shadow flashes around him, appearing for a moment and then quickly disappearing the next moment. In his view it almost feels like a predator moving around it’s pray, waiting for the right moment to attack. Jaejoong could feel all his red flags went up as a sinister energy came from behind him. He turns around and saw the large dark figure of a dragon rushing toward him. Its eyes glows not a warm golden light like before but a deep red color. It opens its large mouth revealing the long sharp teeth still swimming toward him in a fast speed to swallow him completely.

Jaejoong quickly open his eyes and sat up sweating endlessly. His body was still shaking as he pants and gasps for air. It wasn’t until he noticed the bright light coming from outside did he realize it’s already morning. His heart was still racing as if what he just experienced was real. He feels Soomin next to him still sleeping soundlessly with a peaceful expression on her face. He calm his body, took a deep breath and digs his long fingers into his locks of hair. He removes the blanket on his body and got off the bed before making his way out of the cottage. To his surprise, Yunho and JungHan were already awaken and chatting outside. Upon noticing the paleness of jaejoong’s face, Yunho grew concern

“Are you feeling okay? Are you hurt anywhere?” he asked approaching him

Jaejoong stood there for a minute and just look at Yunho. Those warm and caring eyes eased his mind as his body relaxed. Unconsciously, he leans forward and placed his forehead against Yunho’s hard chest. This startled the blue dragon as he looks down at his bride’s odd behavior

“What’s wrong?”

It took jaejoong a moment to gather himself before taking a step back as his lip curved into a smile “I’m alright…just a nightmare…”

“Nightmare?” Yunho raised an eyebrow “What kind?”

“It’s nothing really…I’m fine now…”

Upon his confirmation, Yunho did not press on with this matter. The sun has already risen and it’s time for him and jaejoong to leave. Soomin was woken from her slumber as JungHan lead them through a secret pathway. Soomin walked a bit behind along with jaejoong as they talk while Yunho and JungHan walked a bit ahead of them. The pathway was narrow and rough looking unlike the others. Using the orb of light from JungHan, it lighted their way, removing some of the shadows. Yunho couldn’t help but glance back a few times at jaejoong with the same concern eyes and JungHan noticed it.

“This is only the beginning…” he spoke softly that only Yunho can hear “He too will start to experience some down fall…the truth will be revealed to him sooner or later…”

Yunho’s expression changed “I know…”

“Are you sure this is what you want to do?”

“Yes…”

JungHan sigh “then I hope that this bride you have so much faith in…will really come through for you…if he fail…you and this world is doomed…”

“I know he will…”

After walking for what felted like 15 minutes, they arrived at a large stone wall. Aside from JungHan, the others wondered why they took this pathway. It’s clear that they have reached a dead end. There isn’t any other tunnels and no door. JungHan reached out and pressed a small part of the wall and suddenly the ground shook a little startling the others. In the next moment, part of the wall started to move up revealing a door way. The first thing they heard was the sound of water falling from above and then more sunlight from the other side came through the opening.

“This….is behind the water fall…?” Yunho spoke

JungHan nodded “It can only be open from the inside…”

He reaches out his hand once more and his eyes glows a white light before the falling water started to part way like curtains being pulled aside. According to the large hole on the ground in front of them, this is indeed the very same place that they fell yesterday. Jaejoong was standing next to Yunho when he felt a tug on his shirt. He looks down and saw Soomin standing there looking at him with her big brown eyes.

“What is it?” he asked

She hesitated a bit before speaking “You…will come back to visit right?”

This took jaejoong by surprise, he had never been good with children and he for sure had never meet a child who will actually want to see him again. They usually get scare and want to go as far away from him as they could. He scratched the back of his head uncertain of how to answer. He glanced toward Yunho who is clearly the final decision maker. Upon seeing jaejoong looking at him, Yunho turn and look at Soomin

“We will come and visit when we have time…”

Upon his word Soomin’s face lights up before nodding her head

“Soomin…come here…” JungHan called for her

Soomin let go of jaejoong and quickly made her way to stand at her father’s side

“I don’t sense any danger lurking nearby…it should be safe for you two to leave…” said JungHan

“Thank you…for everything” said Yunho

JungHan shook his head before grasping Soomin’s hand “No…it is I who should be thankful…if it weren’t for you two…I will never be able to meet my daughter…”

“Are you sure you don’t want to leave here?” Yunho asked

JungHan shook his head once more “This place…it holds a lot of memories that I find it hard to part with…I know your worries but you don’t have to be concern…now that I am awake…I’ll make sure no one else will be able to find this place…”

Yunho nodded his head while JungHan felt a since of guilt deep inside him.

“Yunho…I hope you will not misunderstand me for not wanting to go with you…it is not that I don’t want to help….but…spending all those centuries fighting…witnessing endless bloodshed…watching people I care about passed before my eyes has exhausted me…I only wishes to live in peace as much as I can…and also…” he turn his gaze to Soomin “…I now have a child that I need to protect…her safety comes before anyone else…”

“You do no need to explain to me JungHan…I already understand…protecting Soomin and making sure she doesn’t get drag into this mess is for the better…”

“Thank you for understanding...if you ever need anything…do not hesitate to come find me…”

Yunho and jaejoong return with a smile as they bid their goodbyes. Yunho grab onto jaejoong as they flew from where they are to the other side of the beautiful lake. Once landed, they turn back and wave goodbye as the water that has been parted came back together.

“I gotta say…I’ll miss that little girl…” said jaejoong

“We will see them again …” said Yunho as he turn his heel and started to walk toward the thick forest

Jaejoong quickly followed him as the large hole on the ground begin to restore itself as if what happen yesterday, never happened. An enchantment is casted preventing others from finding this place.

Meanwhile, Boa was still sleeping on her bed as she dreamed of the past, the happy time that she spent with Yunho, his father, JungHan, and Yoochun. Everyone was out playing in the green field as the King watches over his son and yoochun while she sat on the large rock next to JungHan. It is not often that the king was able to come out of the palace and enjoy some free time out in the open field like this. She knew how important these time meant to Yunho so rather than disturbing them, she stay back and watches. A cool and refreshing wind blew pass as the smell of fresh grass filled her nose. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the day is just perfect. She smiles brightly watching a father and son interacting nearby, even though Yunho didn’t have much expression, she could tell he was happy.

“You really do love him don’t you?” came JungHan’s voice

She blushed and nodded “Not only him…but also the king…”

“Then you should do everything you can to make them both happy…”

“How can I do that?”

JungHan smile “Love them…Yunho is without a mother…the king is without a queen…if you are to be Yunho’s bride…then you must show them both a woman’s love…a woman’s warm embrace…treasure them as you will treasure the finest jewel….”

“I will…I will always make sure they are happy…I will never do anything to make them sad…to make Yunho cry like he did when his mother passed…”

JungHan pat her on the head “good child…I’ll leave them in your hand in the future…”

The sweet dream quickly changed as Boa begin to twist and turn in her sleep as the expression on her face changed. She is surrounded by raging flames, the cool wind became hot, and the smell of grass is replaced by the smell of burnt wood and flesh. The quietness became the sound of screams, the sound of weapon colliding with one another and tearful cries as well as dragon roar. In front of her is a blood cover JungHan, kneeling on the ground being supported by nothing but his magical staff.

“How could you do this Boa?” he spoke “I believed in you…I thought you were the one who will help Yunho bring peace to this world…”

“Yunho didn’t want me…he reject the idea of me becoming his bride…”

“For that sole reason, you team up with the hunters and lead them here? You showed them the secret passage to this land? You caused all of these death?”

Boa didn’t say anything

“Why did you stray from your path dear child…you were bright…you were smart…you were filled with love and compassion…how is it that you will turn out like this? How could you allow darkness to enter your body…take over your desire and control your anger..?” ask JungHan “I’m begging you Boa…stop this madness…repent…or it will be too late…”

“It is already too late…”

“Boa…remember the promise that you had made…remember it…and it will spare your soul…”

Boa eventually open her eyes as the sunlight shines into her room from the open window. She pulls herself into a sitting position, feeling her head aching and her body sore. The small wounds that she suffered has been treated and bandaged perfectly. She tried to recall what had happen and upon remembering YongHwa knocking her unconscious, she became angry. Boa quickly got out of bed and rush out of her room and down the hall before descending the stairs to the living room where MinSeok sat.

“You are finally awake…” he spoke drinking a cup of tea

“Where is he?!”

“Where is who?”

“That baster YongHwa…!”

“Why would he be here? He follows Byungchal not me…”

Boa sneers as she turn around and was about to leave when MinSeok stopped her “If it wasn’t for him, you would have been capture by the dragon of light…instead of anger…you should be thanking him…”

“Thank him?! Why should I thank him? He knock me unconscious…he refuse to let me fight the dragon of light…if he hadn’t interfere…”

“If he hadn’t interfere…you wouldn’t be here…and my plan would have been ruin…” Minseok spoke as the expression on his face changed “We can no longer be as relax as we were before since you had failed to destroy the dragon of light…”

“I did not fail! If I had gotten more time…”

“More time for what? You are no match for him…it was wrong of me to think that someone your level could stand up against a dragon of light…”

Boa couldn’t help but felt like she had been insulted, like her ability has been looked down upon. She clenches her fist tightly wanting to tear MinSeok apart.

“For the time being…I want you to stay here…I don’t want you to go anywhere near the blue dragon and his bride...”

“Are you putting me under house arrest?”

MinSeok looks at Boa and she feels like something is off. The way he is looking at her is like looking at someone he or she is suspicious of.

“You…”

MinSeok interrupted her “Go back to your room and rest…”

Boa wasn’t going to listen to him but seeing how he glares at her, she had no choice but to obey. She storm out of there and back toward her room as MinSeok sat back down and picks up his cup of tea. He recalls the conversation he had with YongHwa last night when he brought Boa back.

**flash back**

“Are you sure?” MinSeok asked

“Yes…I was there…hiding when I heard their conversation…she is acquainted with the dragon of light…I’m guessing that in the past they must have been on good term with each other base on her reaction…she was nervous, anxious and she hesitated a few times attacking him…and he too was not using his full strength fighting her….as if he…doesn’t really want to hurt her…”

MinSeok did not say anything for a long time before turning to YongHwa “You may leave…”

YongHwa bowed to him but before leaving, he added a few more words “I wouldn’t trust her too much if I were you…”

**end of flash back**

MinSeok drink his cup of tea as he ponders of what to do from this point onward.

Boa slam her bedroom door shut in a fit of rage as she turn over the table and knock a few items down onto the ground. After venting her anger, she finally calmed herself down before taking a seat on the arm chair in her room. She took a deep breath and relax her body as she recalls her dream

**Flash back**

“Boa…remember the promise that you had made…remember it…and it will spare your soul…”

**End of flash back**

“Promise?”

Boa think hard and long on this but she couldn’t remember what promise JungHan was referring to. It has already been too long, all those beautiful memories has been locked away with only a few that slip through the closed door. After sitting there for what felted like a long time, she finally stood up and walk toward the bathroom

“Doesn’t matter if I remembers or not…this soul is already fated to be damned…”

As the sun shines brightly above the sky, Yunho and Jaejoong finally made it back to the city. They walked down the busy street heading toward the apartment chatting, ignoring the usual stares they get from the passerby. Suddenly, jaejoong’s stomach decided to growl loudly that even Yunho was surprised

“Should we stop by somewhere and get you something to eat?” Yunho asked remembering that they didn’t even have dinner yesterday and have yet to have breakfast this morning. Even though he is fine, to a human, they need to eat proper meals.

Usually jaejoong will agree but this time he was way too exhausted and wanted nothing more than to get home and sleep on his soft bed. Thanks to that strange dream, he wasn’t able to get any good night sleep. But after his stomach growls again, Yunho wasn’t going to take a no for an answer. He looks around and pointed to a Ramen shop nearby

“How about we grab something there to eat first…we didn’t return home yesterday so there probably isn’t anything at home for you to eat either…”

Jaejoong looks at Yunho strangely wondering why this dragon is suddenly so concern about rather he eats or not and rather there are food for him or not. But thinking that Yunho cares for him, he couldn’t help but smirked

“Alright…since you strongly insist…we will go eat some Ramen…but this time…you eat with me too…”

Yunho was going to remind jaejoong that dragon don’t need to eat human food but before he could do anything, he found himself sitting at a table with a bowl of fresh ramen noodle in front of him. He turn his gaze from the steamy bowl to his bride who is already busy eating.

“What? Aren’t you going to eat?” Jaejoong asked

“I don’t need to eat…”

Jaejoong rolls his eyes “For the love of god…it wouldn’t hurt to just eat would it? Even if you don’t need to rely on these food to survive…it doesn’t mean that you can’t eat them…so for once just…eat...”

Yunho look at jaejoong for a bit as he looks down at the noodle. As much as he doesn’t want to eat it, he felt like he should since jaejoong went out of his way to order him a bowl. He took the chop sticks, place it between his fingers and grab a few strains of noodles and brought it to his mouth. He took a bite and surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as it looks. Upon seeing him finally eating, jaejoong’s lip curved into a smile as he too continue to eat his share. Just when they thought they finally got some peaceful time to enjoy a meal, a loud voice ring through the air. Jaejoong immediately recognized the voice as he frowned.

“Well…Well…Well…if it isn’t Kim Jaejoong…” a rough and tall man spoke with a huge grin on his face “After hearing that all your goons has been arrested…I thought for sure you wouldn’t be able to escape some jail time…but it looks like you once again pulled a miracle…” the guy spoke with arrogant in his voice

Jaejoong of course chose to ignore him as he continue to eat his noodle pretending he was never approaching by this group of 4 delinquent looking adults. But this move only made the leader more irritated as he slams his hand upon the table and leans toward jaejoong

“While all your friends are held up in jail…you are walking as a free man…enjoying a bowl of ramen…it makes me wonder how they can ever follow a cold hearted person like you…”

Jaejoong turn to glare at him as he smiled before leaning in closer until they are only a few inches apart “I still have a few scores to settle with you…a lot of paybacks that I needed to carry out….so why don’t you and I go out and settle everything…once I beat you…I’ll make you my …”

Yunho who was sitting there has reached his patient with this person who is far too close to his bride. He was going to attack him but jaejoong beats him to it. He took one of the slender metal chop sticks in his hand and with a hard shove, slams it down directly onto the guy’s hand. It pierced through the top of the hand to the other side as blood surfaced from the wound. The guy shouted in endless pain as he reach for the chop stick to try and remove it but jaejoong only shove it in deeper. With a grin on his face, he leans toward the rough looking guy

“It doesn’t matter how many time you challenge me…the result will always be the same…rather than wasting my time…you should go pick fights with little kids instead…”

Jaejoong let go as the guys’s friends rushed to his aid to try and help him remove the chopstick. But every time they touch it, the pain will intensify.

“I advise you to go to the doctor and get it remove….unless you want infection” grin jaejoong

“You!...this isn’t over!! I will get you back for this!!” the rough guy shouted as he rushed out of the store along with his friends

“You can add it to my account” jaejoong shouted after him

He and Yunho eventually left the store fearing that the owner will call the police. They rushed down the street and turn the corner before coming to a stop to catch their breath

“What a ty start to the day…and here I thought we will finally get some break to enjoy our time...” said jaejoong

Yunho only gaze at him without saying anything. In jaejoong’s view, the expression on this dragon’s face weren’t good at all.

“What?”

“You…why did you let him get so close to your face…? Why didn’t you just push him away…?”

Jaejoong was a bit surprise by this question “I was trying to be nice by not punching his face in…”

“By being nice…you allow others to get close?”

“Well…I don’t really like people invading my personal space…so no…I don’t allow others to get so close...”

“But you allow him to…”

“Yes I did…”

Yunho paused a bit before asking “What kind of relationship do you two have?”

“Why are you so caught up on this?” jaejoong asked

Yunho narrow his brows at jaejoong before turning around and started to walk away “other than me…don’t allow others to approach you so close…it is not appropriate…”

Jaejoong stood there in complete confusion wondering what has gotten into Yunho all of a sudden.

“Hey! Wait for me!” He quickly ran after him not realizing that a pair of eyes were watching them from nearby.

Standing on the opposite side of the street is changmin wearing a plain gray shirt and black sweat pants. He had gone out for a little run to clear his mind didn’t expect to come across the dragon and his bride. After receiving news from Junsu early this morning about the situation last night, he couldn’t help but be worried about jaejoong. Even though he knows that Yunho will protect him well, he just couldn’t stop thinking about his wellbeing. It got to a point where he was driving himself mad and had to go out for a run. But the source of his trouble, end up appearing right before his eyes. To see that he is fine gives changmin an ease of mind as he can relax. But to see jaejoong and Yunho interact with one another shows that their bond has gotten deeper and stronger. Other than him, this is the first time he had seen jaejoong allow another person into his space, interacting with him in such a comfortable way. They even ate ramen together showing how close they have become. Even though its’ unseen, changmin so see that there is some sparks between them making his chest tighten painfully.

**Flash back**

Jaejoong and changmin walked down the empty darken street. It was very late at night that there is barely anyone outside.

“Are you sure it’s okay for you to come with me? Your friends were glaring at me…”

“They aren’t my friends…”

“But…they follow you and you hang out with them every night…”

“It is only to pass the boredom…”

“I feel kind of bad for them though…I can tell they respected you and adores you…but you don’t even see them as friends…it wouldn’t hurt to get a little closer to them…from what I can see…they would do anything for you..”

“Other than you and Gummy…there isn’t anyone else I will need…” smile jaejoong “Not now…not ever…”

**end of flash back**

“Jaejoong…what you told me that day…can it still be true? Or could it be that you…toward him….”

His thoughts was interrupted by his cell phone ringing. He took it out and answer it

“What is it?”

“Changmin there is trouble…” came the voice of MinJun

“Alright…I’ll return…”

When changmin made it back to the main house, as MinJun stated, there was trouble waiting for him. Standing in the living room are 4 older men possibly in their late 60’s. The expression on their faces were not pleasant and changmin could tell, they are here to complain.

“I apologize for the wait…I wasn’t expecting any visitors…” stated changmin “If you had given me an early notice…I would have been home and not out doing more meaningful things…”

One of the older man didn’t like changmin’s attitude as she sneer “Meaningful? Such as your ridiculous action against your family?”

“Young master changmin….we have been very patient with you from the day you took over your grandfather’s position…we quietly endure as you went and reform the entire family…cutting loses where you think needs to be cut…making changed you see fit…but you have yet to provide us with any plans regarding the dragon and his bride…” said one of the old man

“We have allowed them to walk freely for far too long…it is time we put into action in capturing the bride and taking the immortal heart…if we don’t act now…someone else will get their hand on it first” said another old man

Changmin listens to them complain one after another which eventually lead to a long lecture of how incompetent he is and how the previous leaders were better than him. They more he listens to them, the more impatient he becomes.

“You should not show any weakness or hesitation just because the bride is your friend…we understand how hard it must be…but as the heir of the shim family you must stand against him…you mustn’t weaver for the better good of this family…he has done nothing but corrupt you and is a bad influence on you…he…”

Changmin slams his hand down onto the table in front of him loudly startling everyone in the room. He lifted his gaze toward the elders with a dark glare as they felt a chill run down their back.

“Do not speak as if you have the right to? do not even mention him as if you know him…another word out of your mouth regarding him…I’ll see to it that your tongue will be remove…”

His threat made them shivered as they clear their throat

“Ahem…we just want to remind you whose side you are on and the burden that you must carry...do not forget who you are young master…”

“I do not need you to remind me…I know very well who I am…” said changmin

“I hope you surely do…otherwise…the very position you have right now…it will not last long…”

Changmin glares at them once more. They discussed a few more things before the elders left as changmin sat down and sigh heavily. MinJun returns with a tray of fresh tea and snacks

“How do you feel?” he asked

“I’m fine…just a little exhausted having to deal with them…”

“They are the elders of the shim family….it would only be right if you show them some respect” came the voice of YongHwa

“They didn’t show me any…so why should I show it to them…” said changmin as he drinks from his tea

“Do not be offended young master but I think you need to change your attitude if you wish to gain their trust and loyalty…”

“I don’t need trust and loyalty…this isn’t the ancient time YongHwa…Even if the entire family stands against me…I will find a way to crush them all…”

YongHwa didn’t say anything as he stood there feeling like the mood of this young master is much worst then this morning. He wondered if something had happen to made him so upset.

“YongHwa…”

“Yes…”

“Go and fetch me my laptop in the study room…”

YongHwa looks at him strangely wondering why he was asked to go fetch something when clearly the one who should have been ordered to go is MinJun.

“Well?..”

“Yes…”

After YongHwa left, MinJun handed changmin a freshly made snack catered to his liking. Changmin took the snack and ate it before seeing a written note on the napkin that was given to him by MinJun.

There is movement within Byungchal’s residence, an attack might happen soon

When YongHwa return, Changmin calmly wipes his mouth with the napkin and hand back to MinJun before reaching out to grab the laptop. MinJun gathered the empty cups from the elders earlier and left the room. He enters the kitchen and placed the cups into the sink before taking out a lighter and burns the napkin to remove its trace.
