One good and one evil, one driven by power and one by life but no matter how different they were or how they stood on the opposite sides of the balance they were one and the same.

A spirit and a soul separated because of one’s greed, of his hatred towards his own kind. It never should be a concern whether the differences between two same things are obvious or big, but more than that one should need and learn to let go of the past and move on.

The two Phoenix, the good and the bad faced each other because two people did not know or ever learned to accept whatever was given to them and with that it caused life, ones that never should have been taken or should be taken. Limitations were passed and the balance broken, certain powers that should not have been touched were used and in exchange families were parted, leaders died and lovers separated. More than all of that, lives and more lives would be wasted.

“There are two of them?” Knight choked, looking above at the two fire birds carefully watching the other’s movements.

Their wings moved in the air with synchronization as if the one in front of them was just a mere mirror image of themselves, though they were the perfect copy of each other it was the moral in them that set them apart. It was the pieces that made them whole that differentiated them and it was their reason of being alive that they were against one another.

Helena’s widened eyes and choked expression prevented her from celebrating her supposedly impending success, she stared at the two birds with such disbelief that her breath was almost knocked off of her. She made an exasperated noise, air hissing through her teeth as she flailed her hands in the air in annoyance. It almost seemed that she was losing her marbles.

“How can this be?” Halo gasped as he, like the others stared up at the sky to see the unimaginable.

Yin and Yang, there was no other way to describe the phenomenon that displayed itself in front of them. Both just as powerful as the other but both as weak, they were an equal match as they saw it and it made it harder for them to know whether to feel hopeful or not even though they did not have a full grasp of the situation.

The Phoenix that represented the Yin cried out, opening its mouth and letting out a piercing sound that spread across the close waters and land. On the peak of its beak a small ball formed, getting larger as his cry got louder and when it stopped an orb of fire had settled and with a swing of its head it sent it across from him to its Yang.

The Yang swiftly covered herself with her wings, shielding herself from the ball of fire that did no damage. Not long after she fired one herself, this time it was much powerful compared to the latter as when it flew to the Yin and even though it covered itself the way she did it was almost sent flying backwards.

“KILL THAT BIRD” Helena ordered from the land below, her fist shaking as her anger rose up and her frustration becoming dangerous. She bent her knees down and looked up, with a quick bounce of her feet she flew upwards to the sky and stayed in mid-air looking at the two.

“What is she doing?” the queen asked, looking closely at the witch who had, more or less, decided to join the little party in the air. “The two are not working for her, are they?” she asked again, the worry in her voice escalating as they stayed grounded and waited.

“If they were I don’t think the other Phoenix would attack, neither would the latter … maybe … that one is on our side” Halo pointed at the Yang, his explanation without a reason seeming to be valid to them or was it their desperation for a savior to come to their aid that clouded up their senses?

“We need to move out now your highness” Marko reminded all of them, although not wanting they had to as it was the only thing they can do at the moment, save as much soul as they can.

“You are right Marko. Everyone we are departing, prepare yourselves to fight as that’s our only way out of this” she spoke clearly and loudly. With her command all of them turned to the direction they were headed to, with one glance behind them they flew out.

As they left for their own war they heard both the Phoenix cry out with their piercing voices, they did not know what went on, if one had fallen and if one had been the victor but even with all their curiosity they couldn’t look back – they did not have the time to. One particular member of the group constantly looked behind him without anyone noticing, a bit of worry in his expression as he got further and further away.

“How long?” he spoke in his mind, none of the vampires or werewolves ahead of him looked back or any of the ones behind him caught up to his side and that was because he wasn’t talking to any of them. There was a long pause after his question and his patience was slowly running off with the silence between their thoughts.

“15 minutes, I can feel that they are both slipping away. I would need the book as soon as possible Marko” an answer came to him and with a determined look he nodded as if the one he was talking to were just beside him.

Across the waters and the forest were the werewolves and vampires, set apart by a wide landmark and were completely oblivious of what was happening just mere distance from them. Both sides ready to attack, but neither side wants to kill. At the very front line were their leaders, Craven Lee, the standing king of the vampire clan and Lucian Kim, the standing king of the werewolf pack. They were the same, both blinded by their greed for power and numbed by their thirst to rule.

“Lucian, it is best that you and your pack of mongrels give up now before we kill all of you” Craven spoke loudly, provoking the other and it was not the best act to do at the moment. He knew how to get the other worked up when he is he loses focus.

“Are you talking about yourself Craven? I do not see a reason why we should back down when it will be you and your blood- leeches who will be killed” Lucian replied just the same, keeping his position and not letting anything get to him even the vampires foolishness and stupidity. “There is a reason your cousin, Nathaniel Park was made king instead of you. Do not forget that, even in death he is still above of you” he added, giving Craven a taste of his own medicine and by the sour expression in his face it was the greatest medicine he has ever tasted.

“One is only above another if they are alive, surely now that he is dead he can not do anything about it” Craven thickly said back. “Now let us stop this nonsense. You will lose Lucian and I will rule this world” with those words the long awaited but not anticipated war between the two mortal enemies began.

“ATTACK” they both shouted and even though their people were unsure whether to follow or not they still went on, fearing for their own life even though going so perhaps might end it.

Before the two had the chance to reach each other in the middle of the field another group had entered the battle. Lucian was flabbergasted to see his wife alive along with her was Zen who stood strongly beside Marko at either side of the wolf queen.

“Chime” Lucian whispered, defeated. From where he stood he looked far across the field at where he thought the ghost of his dead wife stood. He shook his head furiously, racking his mind awake to assure that it was not an illusion but he was more than disappointed to see it clearly was not.

“Stop this nonsense. Do you not see the fight much more important than this? The Phoenix has just been resurrected, the good and bad and yet here you all are wasting away your life” she spat, although her words were formal enough her tone projected all her unlikeness.

Craven snorted, finding what she was talking about rather ridiculous. “And who is going to stop us, you? A mere wolf” he said, his gaze at her full of malice. But the queen was not taken aback or flustered even, she looked at him straightly and with a slight smirk on her face she said, “I will give the honor to Zen, he seems to have a bone to pick with you as after all it was you who locked him away”.

Beside her Zen stepped forward, cracking his fingers and neck as he looked darkly over to the vampire king. “It is nice to see you again … your highness” there was a certain tint of mocking in his voice and the vampire king realized it very clearly.

“I know most of you do not want to be here. I know that all of you have a family back home, I am giving you this chance to back away and leave” Chime spoke again, looking at both the vampires and the werewolves who she knew clearly were unwanted to be where they were.

Both kings growled at their men, looking at them furiously and threatening them with their eyes if they as much move a hair from where they stood, however, even with how much they glared at their people almost all of them backed away and left them with only a few to fight along with.

“If you want to kill each other then kill each other, do not bring anyone else with you” she said, looking closely at the person she once loved very much. “Stop now or else” behind the three of them were their own army of vampires and werewolves. The others who had backed away from their kings gasped in shock as they saw their own kind standing beside the kind that they always knew were their mortal enemies.

Craven and Lucian – once he snapped out of his trance, tsked. Facing each other once more and were ready to attack with whoever was left with them. Chime shook her head in disappointment, she looked over to each her side and past her shoulder with a nod right then her own army attacked the same time the other two did. Moving to them were Haeden who had forced to go along with and his own clan of half-vampires.

She stood back with Zen and Marko and had watched their army stop the two’s. Zen seemed to have been much more reluctant to go forward when he noticed one detail or more like four details missing out of place. “Where is my wife? Minji, Chaerin and Jiyong?” he looked at Marko, feeling that he knows clearly where the four were.

“I sent them to go do something, they will be back soon Zen no need to worry” Marko replied straightly, looking at the other with a smile on his face. “Now let’s finish what we came for” and with that they all set forward.

At that moment all seemed to have been going the way they wanted, all of the puzzle pieces found and were close to being put on the spot where they belong but when fate want its puppet to perform a show they will be more than willing to be a part of a performance with a plot they may all not enjoy.

A groan was heard from the side where they stood, it was certainly sudden as they saw neither wolf nor vampire came to their perimeter or close enough to hurt anybody. It was not surprising to see the already wounded vampire to be crouched over the ground in pain. Halo was about to help his brother up, taking one of his hands and slinging it around his shoulder when the latter slashed the air with his sharpened nails, very close to Halo’s arm.

“Haeden, what’s the matter?” he spoke softly.

Haeden touched his wound, taking a firm grip on the bandage put around him and with a quick pull it came off showing the others the torn flesh that looked infected but yet regenerating already. He brought his head up and meeting their eyes was his black orbs.

The vampire growled, his fangs growing out as he turned into his true vampire form. All of them stepped back, baffled by the sudden turn out of events and it was one they surely were not expecting at the least. They knew something had happened and it was not just of his action but the scales creeping out of his skin.

“I thought you had taken all of the venom out of his system?” Zen looked over to Marko.

“I did. Dammit, he was already infected when he showed up” Marko cursed, not realizing that bit of the detail. “Everyone watch out, he’s going to attack and wouldn’t care if he knows you or not. He’s infected and now he’s playing for the other team” he warned all of them and in an instant all their guards came up and were ready to defend themselves and the others once the time comes and for sure it came to them.

Haeden darted towards the Queen but was quickly taken down by Mickael, the wolf had turned into his true form and there stood beside him was Xiah, two werewolves - taller than a giraffe and larger than an elephant, stood in front and guarding their queen with the others beside them. Haeden got up on his feet and hissed at the two and of course they growled back at him.

“How do we get him back?” Lucas asked the two who seemed to know the answer.

“Kill the parasite who infected him” Marko said venomously.

Like the rays of the sun spreading throughout, the chaos did not leave any one out of its reign. Everything was happening too fast yet too slow, despite the great destruction and the damages that stretched over the land the ending of it all did not seem to come and until then more wounds would be inflicted.

The Yang attacked her Yin with full intention of causing loss, though fully understood she did not care about the effects it would have on her once she gains back her spirit. All of her attacks was made with such force that would have killed anyone if her opponent was not her other half but it was not all for the reasons of putting her whole again, it was because of time running out. The longer she fights and prolongs the event the lesser her chances were of saving the two who had suffered the most throughout the catastrophe. 15 minutes is all she got.

Helena gritted her teeth, “I knew it. I knew she is not dead and just waiting in the dark …” she whispered to herself, a little bit satisfied that she saw it coming and had prepared for it but looking at how she was starting to head on the lower side of the winning side did not make her any better.

She tipped her head back, looking up at the passing clouds above them and the illuminating moon that was slowly fading away from the night. She was losing her time, she was losing her chance and when it does slip away from her hold she would have to wait yet again.

“Mother we need to go” Amelia called but was only ignored, there was nothing new to the picture but she would always feel a bit hurt whenever. She sighed restlessly, what she was about to do defies her mother’s rules but at the moment getting punished for interfering was on the bottom of her list. opened up and out came a spell that pulled her mother down to the ground.

Helena, angry for being disturbed at such time stiffly stayed rooted on her ground as Amelia reluctantly came close to her. The younger witch held out her hand to her mother’s shoulder but as soon as she did so a hand gripped tightly.

“What do you think you are doing?” Helena hissed, every vain on her face and neck shown as her anger rose up. Amelia was choking, her face turning quite a shade of blue from lack of air
