Sica’s pov

I was getting tired, dragging my feet to walk on. I remembered my mother words of when you think you cannot take it anymore, look up and pray for help. I adored my mum and so I looked up to the sky.

Such a beautiful sight!

That made me remind of my mother. I muttered under my exhausted breathe, “Victoria umma...I will protect this baby and reared up well just like you did for me. I am a big girl now, I can take care of myself and my child.”

After walking for the longest time of my life, I decided to take a break and then realised that I was lost in the cold and deserted forest.

I was afraid, was about to break down and cried for Mother when baby Amber cried loudly.

I hushed, patted and comforted her and it helped. She quietened down but still with tears threatening to fall out anytime.

Then I have reached the border where our kind has separated ourselves from other kinds.

Once I crossed this, I will be out of this protection boundary. There is an scary rumour that once our kind are out from this without permission from the council, we will suffer excruciating pain as in freezing till turn into ice and immediately after we will experience hell fire burning making our body’s skin burst and peel off.
